    That's a really good mindset.
Also, he could have easily dismissed his friends as weak or something and carried on his ways. But he was a smart and big enough person to really evaluate the situation, identify his mistakes and correct them.
That is something I really respect, since not all people have the ability to do that.

Al's advice and experiences also remind me of content creators, even in holoPro, who have a big fanbase or, at least, a regular crowd because of their toxicity not just in gaming but also in other things. I mean, if you ask me, shallow virtue is the minimum requirement for deep relatability, and a loose little screw can ruin a whole big machine. You can still gather crowds of fans and loads of money and all that with toxicity, even if it's just a little, but still, toxicity makes cliques rather than communities. And I'm glad that Al's friends stood up against his toxicity and that Al took their opposition to heart well. His comfy voice definitely helps make his talk a good listen, too. :D

Gotta appreciate him for taking the time to re-evaluate his own behavior. Every now and then in the collabs he still does the "toxic gamer" banter (like in DBD), but he immediately followed up with an apology etc. It kinda helps that the other guys are also honest with him.

This hit me real hard tbh, I've been playing mobile legends which has a community that is like 80% full of unecessarily toxic people(and I was included when I was from ranked warrior to epic) until the start of this year, I... Just stopped caring about winning or losing
I mean, what's the value of the W if you didnt even get to enjoy which is like the main point of playin/gaming/entertainment? Why bother be such a tryhard? Why play to impress when you can play for comfort?

    • @muningdelvin5701

Like even in randoms wether you get paired with crappy teammates, why putting up such high expectations when you don't even know the capabilities on who you're teamed with? The more you mald on randoms trying their best is like yelling at yourself "why are you doing this" as you just kept doing the same thing over and over again

Personally, I've learned something very important about playing any sort of competitive games.
For instance, in a shooting game, you have to kill the enemy to win.
But how do you get to the end result of "winning"? That's right, you have to kill, and how do you kill? You have to make your shots hit, you need to position yourself correctly, you have to work with your team, etc etc.
A change in mindset from "My target is to win" to "My target is to make sure I am always in the right position in a firefight" or "My target is to hit all my shots" does wonders.
Consistently doing these things will naturally make you win, so focus on doing them correctly and consistently, the wins will come to you if you can make those things happen consistently.

Ya, I had that experience with MMOs... it became so toxic at some point that I actually quit playing all five I was being active in at that time and I didn't touch them for like ten years. I had downloaded one or two and looked into them, but did not play. Then I found one and went on solo. The game was fun, despite some toxic people, but no guild = no stress, but also slightly harder to accomplish goals. I made some online buddies who were fun to play with, they quit randomly and finally the game was shutdown. Don't know if I ever will touch another MMO again or join the same game on a private server.

Axel would just be like “huh what?” Every time someone gets deep he dodges it. I wonder if he avoids deep stuff on stream on purpose.
But really, I get this. I was never really an intense rager but since I started playing dota 2 and now have 2500 hours I’ve pretty much always played as friendly as I could. Maybe because I’ve never really been the best in the team. I played with some guys for a lot of it that _were_ exactly that kind of person though. They were so brutal and you really had to try hard so they didn’t get angry at you.

I think I had this epiphany back when I had my 5th match of league but it was from normal solo pubs to joining a friend and his team. They were so insanely toxic while he defended how new I was, I really didn't want my friends to ever deal with that kind of toxic communication. Yea we'll take a few jabs for fun but it won't be some degrading yelling over a kill or misclick.
