unlike the police who will shoot you to death for putting them in any amount of danger, albeit it's an inherently dangerous profession in general, and I commend them, but they will.
That's right! They are putting their own lives at risk - every day! I suppose it's only Policemen in the US who have chosen a job much more dangerous than firefighting!
@@jurgenkuhlmann9194 Oh stop, you are making me cry. Firefighting is only as dangerous as they make it. Even when there are known victims inside, you still don't do STUPID and put yourself at risk to play hero. What good is an injured or dead firefighter to a victim. You protect yourself, then your fellow firefighters and then any victims. Common sense and logic. Try using it sometime.
Maybe I am not looking closely enough, but it looks as though the firefighter at the beginning of the video is wearing zero eye protection while operating the K 12.
I’ve seen this building’s business slowly deteriorate then close. The building was abandoned and completely tagged up. Yesterday I saw what looked like a lot of burned trash on the sidewalk. I didn’t know it was from the building. Very sad. I hope something new gets built there that contributes something positive to the community.
I am not in LA or Cali, but these hero's have to be the best trained, most professional FFs I have ever seen, I was a FF for many years, amazing to watch.
Amazing more FFs weren't injured. Where is the eye protection for the guy operating the K-12? And we learned in the academy you never stand on the hose when dropping the Humat but rather wrap it around the hydrant to keep the hose from being pulled out from under you and causing a fall/injury. Basic 101 stuff.
Just wondering why most of the firefighters have a large axe tucked in their belt. They look very cumbersome and seem to make walking let alone running and climbing pretty awkward..
I never saw a FF being injured so I'm a bit confused as to what happened. Hopefully it was just heat exhaustion or a minor smoke inhalation and a few days rest will put him right again. What was the massive amount of sparking coming from the white box on the roof? Was that the main electrical junction and the circuits frying or was there some other cause? If it was electrical I don't see how it could have kept going and going since the shorted areas would have gotten too large for current to jump across. Anyone enlighten me on this?
0:01 Eye and ear protection? 2:47 This is how they check if the rain leader's work. Because that is all that's being accomplished here. 3:44 This will accomplish getting the floor wet. They will have No Angle of Attack on the burning material that is throughout the building. 3:47 The water just pours out the door and the fire never gets smaller. In this particular case, the building has no windows so you can't horizontally apply water and you definitely can't go inside because you will only have the door you entered for egress. With the proper and safe access, this is how they do it anyway. Water on smoke and flames while getting none on the burning material.
Seems to be more and more of these commercial building fires in downtown LA. MO is usually the same. Suspicious origins, empty building, possible vagrants living illegally. I just wonder how many are really started by frustrated landlords who know they will never get the building rented again and finally just hire surrogates to torch the place for the insurance money. One of these days a fireman could get killed and then watch what a big news story that turns into when the building owner is charged with murder. There are NO victimless crimes!
Hope he makes a full and speedy recovery. Thank all our firefighters for Putting their lives in dangers to save ours

@@stephendedalus191 Assuming that all police "will shoot you to death for putting them in any amount of danger" is idiotic.
If they were doing their job correctly, they wouldn't have to risk their lives. The problem for their family's is, they don't.

Perfect symbol of California.

There are so many professional firefighters in the comment section, that they could put out a fire with a computer keyboard. 😐
Just a bunch of armchair Incident Commanders.
Lmao

I wonder y they look somewhat oldskul
SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND........PINK FLOYD ! ! !

1:25 First time I've seen a "wet" hydrant.

Gonna loop this, will make a nice change from the Yule Log during the holidays, that art is on fire.. 🔥
I want to be the chop saw blade supplier to LAFD!
This looks like it could be a super hero scene
Good job la firefighters puttin out fire
Number 1: Where is this FF's eye shield while cutting?
Cleaning up the blight in L A one fire at a time
why was there No Face shield on the Frirey with cutting tool at the start?
because he is untouchable 🤣

Usually truck and rescue companies like there tools close at hand. Some crews you'll notice also keep wooden door chalks strapped to their helmets.
00:02- Is there some SOP in the LAFD that bans wearing eye protection during circular saw ops?
Because this is becoming a consistent theme.

Why are you video so short.
OOOPS, Engine 15 forgot about the collapse zone ?????.
Right off the bat, a firefighter is using a K-12 Saw without eye protection. There is never so much of a rush not to be safe and wear your PPE!
All in a well paid day's work.
Is the cameraman Jake Gyllenhal by any chance?
Sorry to hear a firefighter was injured. This company ILUS has new technology that can put the fires out in less time less water usage!
Oh no no no no 😢😪💔🙏💛
Fires in LA still make the news?
Very very slow
:45 he’s a newbie
Maybe one day they will it a tower or a waterway on a truck, not very effective shooting water in the air.
LA city firemen running gerting shit done, new york firemen look like they dont want to be there, california has the best of the best, from texas
Why do these ff run?
Maybe they have a strong and responsible work ethic and are concerned for the person's property. They aren't All Lawn Statues.
