    Love your video and your kitties. Your stitching is amazing! I love the butterfly mandala and the Victoria Sampler is darling too. I have always wanted to do a Chatelaine, but have not been brave enough yet. One of the kits I have considered is the Halloween Kitty and would love to see your progress on the piece you are stitching. Hope to see you again soon. You are a great addition to the floss tube community.

      Thank you for the warm welcome, I was pretty intimidated by the Chatelaines at first too, but Martina's diagrams are pretty easy to follow, you could always start off with one of her smaller mandalas first to try it. I would however recommend using a PDF pattern as they can easily be enlarged on a computer or tablet, I found it worked much better for me that way. :)

    Welcome to FlossTube - love, love, love your pieces - great stitching! Now I have to go out and look at Chatelaine's...your fur babies are beautiful - I have six cats and four dogs. Can't wait to see more - love the Victoria Sampler. TFS

      Thank you! The chatelaines are beautiful, but like the Mirabilia's, the cover photos don't do them justice. Wow, 6 cats and 4 dogs must be quite a handful, I've reached my max with the two I have, even though I always briefly ponder adding another female into the mix. Thank you again for watching and commenting :)

    Welcome! Great video :) I good rule of thumb is do the magnificas beads as you go, and save the large Swarovski bicones and cubes for the end. Hope that helps :)

    • @miskacat1
      @miskacat1  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Trixie, I think I'll do that on the next one, I've also heard of putting cotton batting on top of the beads so when it rolls they have a bit of cushioning as well, so I might try that for this one and see how that works out as well. Thanks for watching!

    Welcome to floss tube! Butterfly lace is gorgeous and Trick or Treat is fabulous! Thanks so much for the closeup and info re: the pattern. I own it, but haven't started it b/c the hardanger unnerves me. But you conquered it, congrats!

      Thanks Stephanie, Trick or Treat was so much fun, you really should just give it a go. I have another hardanger/ Victoria Sampler piece I will be starting in about a week and I'm actually terrified to start it, Lol. So silly when you think of it, It's really just fabric and thread, not like the world will explode or anything truly horrific will happen if I mess it up or anything, but I digress :-D

    Hi there, have just watched your video and I love the colour fabric choice for your Nora Corbett. I wouldn't of dreamt using that colour but it really does go looks amazing! Also just a little tip for your finished pieces , fold them up with acid free tissue paper . This will not only protect your work but also stop any crease marks. Hope this help x
    Ps really good first video thank you for sharing

      Thank you! It's so good to have met another stitcher that is here is Alberta. There are only two places I shop for supplies for her in Edmonton, besides the Michaels that is. The first is the Craft Connection www.thecraftconnection.ca/ and the second is the Frame Corner framecorner.ca/ The frame corner also does drop in stitch days and and a stitch camp twice a year down in Alix Alberta, it is very reasonably priced if your looking for a few days to get away from it all!

    Hello! Great video. You might have convinced me to maybe try Hardanger and cut thread work. I would definitely practice on scraps first... if I stitched something and then screwed it all up by cutting wrong... yikes! I might check out that Lakeside fantasy SAL. The border is amazing. And your Butterfly Chatelaine is gorgeous! I think it is one of the prettiest Chatelaines I have ever seen. Thank you for the laugh at the end, I love your curious kitties!

    • @miskacat1
      @miskacat1  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching! The border totally sold me for the lakeside needlework SAL as well, they just released the second block and its just as cute as the first one, so I'm excited to work on it again.

    Greetings from Edmonton's West Side. First of all, great videos! You have presence and nothing comes off as awkward. Hugs to the Fur Babies.
    I did L&L Angel of Love, which is heavily beaded and it is beaded throughout the piece and I struggled with how to keep the piece on the frame and bead while not damaging the beads, the finished stitches or the fabric, so I related to what you said about the worries about the beading on your gorgeous Chatelaine's. I solve the issue by Rolling in a piece of thick terry towel (a old towel I cut to size) on the top of the project. As I rolled the project to do the beading, the stitched beads simple sank into the terry towel. The dowel that had the towel rolled into got pretty thick, but I was able to maintain tension, without risk of damaging anything. Anyway, might be a good explanation, but there it is for your consideration.

    • @miskacat1
      @miskacat1  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello fellow Edmontonian! Thank you so much for watching! Angel of Love is gorgeous, and yes, it's very heavily beaded, probably more so than my chatelaine. The towel is a fantastic idea I will definitely have to try that the next time I mount it onto my frame, thank you so much for the idea :-)

    I now have Trick or Treat by Victoria Sampler on my wishlist. I don't think I would have picked it until you showed it. Wow. Do you think the sampler materials pack was worth the money? It's a bit costly for me, yet would you recommend it? Awesome video, loved your patterns, great everything.

    • @miskacat1
      @miskacat1  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did get the material pack with my chart. It came with plenty of thread to stitch the model as charted and I had a fair bit extra with most of the threads (there was one color where there wasn't a huge amount left over, but still plenty to stitch the pattern with). I look at the cost of buying the threads separately opposed to buying the pack and if you were to buy the threads individually to only use tiny bits it wouldn't be worth it. However , if you like collecting threads and will use them in future projects it would be worth buying the whole skein. With that being said... the Needlepoint Inc, and Krenik Mori silks are NOT variegated so you could easily sub out regular DMC for them, but the Gloriana silks offer a very pretty variegation so if you can splurge on any threads I would recommend those ones. Regardless of which you choose to do this pattern will be beautiful when its done. If you run into any problems while stitching it let me know and I can try to be of some help. Happy Stitching!

    Thanks for the tip about European CrossStitch. I did order a kit!! I'm excited.. but - How long did you have to wait for your order??

    • @miskacat1
      @miskacat1  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cindy is super nice, she won't ship out partial kits so there is a bit of a wait time. I think the longest I waited was just over a month. They are definitely worth it though as everything is in it's own floss away bag, with a beading and regular needle included. I always try to repackage it after I go though and admire everything, but fail miserably every time, I have no idea how she makes it look so good..... Now I'm curious, which kit did you order?
