i dont know what you need to do to get more subs (maybe more hashtags, i dont know how this shit works), but this channel deserves waaaay more subs than what it's at right now. this build and craftsmanship done solely by you is insanely impressive and inspiring. the in depth detail you go into verbally of "how to" but then the speed up of all the steps without making it too long keeps it interesting for someone looking to do their own work start to finish. keep up the good work mate. cant wait to see the final product! i've watched all your vids on this build!
I first saw tubbing from trevor's(MotionAutoTV) supra. Damn, those tubs make the engine bay ALOT cleaner. ❤ Im glad you went on this route! Nice work man! From Philippines
I love your work man this inspires me to get my project car going I have a 4 door gc8 to that needs a lot of TLC and you give me the inspo to get it done... cheers!
I really appreciate the walkthrough but where can I get me one of the competent welders? I checked online and on Amazon but none had the "GRRRR" advertised 😂 seriously though, clean and concise videos! great job
i love watch your vids and seeing the IG progress! ive started on my coupe vs the sedan and the filler neck is giving me some headache but itll get there! keep up the good work cuz youre motivating me XD
I appreciate what your doing I just don’t understand why, the gc8 wrx has good steering angle from factory, and with the wide guards I doubt the tubs are needed
Hi, it is because of the wider wheels. I have 18x10 rims with 285 tires, so the clearance with the wheel wells is drastically reduced especially when cornering. Also with the increased suspension travel my wheels hit the frame rail if I don't cut it. Cutting the frame rail was done on all 1997-2000 WRC GC cars, so definitely much needed. They probably didn't need large tubs then because the wheels were only 17x8 (if I'm not mistaken). With wider tires you obviously need more room. Hope that helps
Swiss Tuned so you will be using the car for wrc is it still awd, I say this as I have had 19x225 tires on a standard gc8 With rolled guards, it looks like you are 50mm wider on the front but projecting out in wheel offset
Rwd wrx I won’t be doing any kind of rally with this car. If anything it will be a track car. Yeah but you’re running 225 tires, that’s why you’re probably fine, try fitting 285s or larger. Also I have a full 2006 STI drivetrain swap which already makes the track width wider than a stock GC. The main reason why my wheels hit the stock wheel wells is because of the width of the tires and the low ride height. I can’t speak for everybody but in my case it was necessary.
Sorry if I missed it, but what welder did you use? Will it be okay to use a flux core mig welder? I have a cheap harbor freight one but not sure if its safe to do the tubs with it.
Hey man, i used a regular MAG (commonly called MIG but mine is actually a MAG). I honestly don’t know about flux core welders, never used one. It would be easy to try though, assuming you have a piece of metal laying around you could do a few tests and see how strong the welds are. But in my experience tubbing a car requires a decent amount of welding, so I would not go the flux core route anyways. It would be fine for smaller jobs but usually MIG is also cleaner and better suited for regular metalwork on cars. Hope this helps 🤙🏻 and good luck with your tubs!
asfatebecomes Just a regular MAG (people like to call it MIG but this one is actually a MAG). I personally wouldn’t use flux core welding, it produces toxic fumes and is messier imo, I’ve never seen serious fabricators use it on something like this, it must be a sign. The only reason I’d see to use one is if you absolutely can’t afford a MIG or don’t have access to gas, but that’s extremely rare...

Swiss Tuned how does the 6speed conversion make the track width wider?
I think if you do your research you will find the earlier model has a slightly wider track width
Can you give the specific dimensions of the tub and the panel?
so sick!
Aahhh the cutting so scary man i feel it cutting my subie. Lol i could not do this lol. U da bomb man cant wait to see the finished result

What will you do with that car, when the build is done? Is it going to be a race car, or will you drive it on the streets?
Burly Man Hopefully both, if it passes street regulations 😜
@@SwissTuned would be really impressing, if you get that beauty to drive on the streets!! I wish you the best of luck with that task 🙂

Yeahhhhh boiiiiii!
Are you using gas or flux core wire for your welding? Just got my first welder

@@SwissTuned thanks man! I'll go get some gas before i start.
Очень круто.
I really hope you paint it like a 90s conor mcrae subaru rally car
What welder do you have?
Jorge Flores I’m using the Kemppi MinarcMig Evo 200, it does wonders 👍🏻
