By the 4th hurdle this race was totally over.
Syd is an absolute hurdling machine!
I love the fact her and her coaching team have her working on other events outside of the 400 hurdles.
She’s already an Olympic gold medal winner /WR holder in that event. That is the pinnacle! So what other goals are there as an athlete at such a young age?
It makes so much sense to work on the different aspects of your skill set instead of just committing yourself to a single race going forward.
Props to her and her team for being open to doing more than just her speciality event .

Amazing finish. It wasn't even close. Props to these ladies. I can't imagine it is easy to run hurdles. Your timing has to be right when you leap. You have to focus on leaping at the right time to make sure you don't get tripped up by a hurdle and you still have to be cognizant of where your competitors are. Simply amazing

    • @Oklahomie95

I hope we see Sidney around 5 olympics but she has far to go before she can be compared to Allison. Also worth noting- the sprint event are far more popular and competitive. If we put Syd on every 4x4 and 4x1 Olympics squad the next 2 Olympics she will surpass Felix gold medals total by the age of 28.. Which is why I say she can be like Bolt. She’s taking 7 steps out of the blocks. I think like 99% of women do 8. Also, she’s starting with her opposite foot coming out of the blocks. For 400h she starts left foot. Here she’s starting right foot. That is hard to do

For her to really take on the top seeds in this race, she'd need to do at least 12.35 - 12.40. Still, this young lady is so multitalented on track and field. I'm hoping she does the 400 sprint just to see if she can actually take down the record there
