10:03 Seems maniac McQueen was trying to end somebody's career but said Hugh Johns 'the ball had long gone' ah so that's alright then. Was at this game and the crowd were giving McQueen a lot of stick after the Biley incident which can't be printed here. Great interview with Jimmy Greaves at the end though, what a top bloke. Amazing he was selling garage doors and life insurance at the time.
When Geoff Hurst hung up his boots, he signed on at the dole to begin with. That must have been hard, then he got a job knocking on doors selling insurance or such. Imaging opening the door & seeing Geoff Hurst, "Hi,..
McQueen should had a straight red. He was shouldered off the ball by Biley a few minutes earlier and when the camera was at the other end knocked him out with a dirty punch. You wouldn't have to be a brain surgeon to figure that one out. That was actually a criminal offence witnessed by thousands at the game. Thugs have been jailed for less
It was nearly half a century ago! Think how the clubs and game had changed between 1930 and 1980. Colour Televised games, players costing £1 million etc. Then dwindling attendances etc. If the game had stood still here in Britain whilst the rest of the World changed, it would have died here.
Alan Biley the other day part of Pompey's 125th birthday celebration 🎉.
His goals got Portsmouth into the first division in the late 80s.
Played for Brighton as well around 86.
OMG the quagmire that was the Baseball ground!
That goal bye Frank Worthington at the beginning was absolutely brilliant.
Bolton v Ipswich
AAAAAAAaaaaalbion..

@@seltaeb9691 Didn't he team up with Martin Peters too?
The only way a lot of footballers made "any" money was to get transfers every three years.
