I remember Johnny Giles when he took over at West Brom talking about not tolerating indiscipline in the players. His retaliatory actions rather undermined the message!
22:51 I initially thought that was Terry Venables in the sheepskin jacket next to Dave Sexton, but he'd gone to C. Palace by this time, hadn't he? And the guy the other side of Sexton looks familiar, but I can't put a name to the face.
QPR came second in the First Division that season, only losing to Liverpool by one point. Football was so much less set in stone than it is now. The big four or five rarely change these days, whereas between 1973 and 1984 teams that came second to Liverpool were Ipswich, Watford, Southampton, Nottingham Forest and QPR as mentioned. None of these teams would get anywhere near the top four of the Premier League nowadays.
i am sure people are asking you to show games so i would like to ask if the tottenham arsenal from the 74/75 seaon is possible if so i would be very grateful and yes the word is spreding as you asked m8
I just love the old music for The Big Match - way better than the Match of the Day theme.
Thank-you!
Phil Nutt had to retire shortly after that game due to damaged cruciate ligaments. What a shame at only 17 years old.
Took that goal well, seen some stills of him, how sad...
He could have had a great career 😢
Hope he had better luck in life after having to retire. Looked a real prospect.

That pitch looks great for December. By 1970s standards at least.

Some very good players on that pitch

Andy King scoring for Luton Town v WBA and after a great Everton spell went on to join ...West Bromwich Albion.

10:59 Anarchy In The UK Charlie George style there, lol.
Sheffield Utd showing what happens when you pack your team with former Watford and Blackburn players!

Is that the game from the 19 Oct. If it is, i only have 9mins of highlights of that!!
Two good sides but Derby fouled their way through that one.
Terrible lunging tackle by Charlie george @ 11.00 full force studs on Masons Ankle !! deliberately .. The refereeing was sometimes atrocious
I just knew Derby would equalise ha Come on U Rssssss
If QPR had won away at Norwich , one of their last games , they would have won the First Division. .....
Showing no live games was a joke .
Despite all Giles' subsequent self-serving spins, he was a dirty little b.....
Giles had to go
yeah, but how can 2 refs be totally at odds with the rules on foul play Charlie george got no more than a word in his ear
Giles always a nasty vindictive little player. They weren’t called ‘Dirty Leeds’ for nowt!
