I'm a gonna need that t-shirt! I put up a hoop house and named it 'Her Hootis'. Feeling proud of myself, I asked the other half if I could put a picture of her 'hootis' on the internet. She slapped me. Damn!! :-)
Love it!!! 😍 🤣
That little one is so precious .
Thank you!!
Great video Jim and Lydia
First two humans are the only ones starting the concrete slabs thank you guys 😅

You put a lot of time into not only your content but also do a great job at showcasing your sponsor's products. They have to appreciate that.
Form pins are great! Emergency call to bro, where's the dirt? Have fun y'all.
RIGHT!!
Awesome music today Lydia and i love a shirt but not yet keep up the great work
Thank you!!
Wow the slab is huge, now that the forms are up you can see how big it really will be. ❤❤
Yes!! We can’t wait!!
Good video good to see y'all
Thanks for watching Randy!!
You make it look so easy 😊.
Thank you!!😁
Thanks! ❤ God Bless you!
Thank you so so much Steve!! ☺️☺️☺️
The cutest, pretty and the smallest construction worker ever
Thank you Estella!!
Your baby girl is beautful
Thank you so much!
Hey Lydia and Jim. It was nice to spend a few minutes with you and I really enjoy and look forward to your vlogs. Jim was right Lydia, you do look pretty with the wind blowing your hair. Jim made two offers to come help out and nothing would please me more y'all; it's too bad I'm not closer or I'd take you up on it. Ladley is such a cutie and sweet little one. It's fun to watch her be busy doing her stuff. Have a productive week and be safe. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
Thank you very much Larry! And thank you for watching!
Love the t-shirt! Great job on shop build!🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s
Thanks so much Laura!
Have shovel would travel! But I need a XX Large shirt and it is sold out! For your favorite Illinois plumbing fan? I won't tell anyone! Well...until I get it!!
Shovel services for a shirt 🤔 That seems like an awfully good trade to me😁
yall an inspiration, i do the diy work myself and have been for since a child. Raised by farmers, I learned things gotta get done and keep it simple. Its worth taking a minute for that extra planning because you dont wanna make more work thanks for speaking the same language and having good videos
Wow the executive supervisor was sure doing her thing patrolling the perimeter. The forms sure were a lot of work to get set. Good luck with the filter.
Yes she was really being picky Gary!😂 Thank you! We got the filters changed yesterday and got ole blue running again 🎉
Cool ride your daughter has Jim and Lydia
Good job from all of you - have a great week - love ya all more !!
Thanks so much!
Nice 2 se u gat a fully qualified helper that knows how 2 draw a straight line.... Keep up the great work and the always positive energi... regards from denmark....
Thank you!
Yeah, if I lived closer, it would be on!! Especially for a BBQ 😂😂!! An if I didn't have an extremely back pain!! I love the shirt 👕! But as always, you all are killing it!! I hope yall have a blessed week friends!!
Cedric I definitely understand the sore back! We could always use another supervisor though! Ladly needs a PTO day every once in a while 😂 We hope y’all are having a great week!!
@@CajunCountryLivin 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I see y’all had a little angel helping you it looked like Lad was holding a vampire stake😂later my good people.❤️😎🇺🇸
She’s always a helper!🤪
Glad y'all went to Cody and Summer's wedding such a wonderful talented young couple. That framing looks amazing and it looks huge. Sorry the tractor is down and not able to help..
Shirt design looks great Lidia 👍
Thanks so much John!
KeeYaw Cajun Family!! 😀👏👏👍👍 Nice weather we be having. Guessing no dry pours on this project 😁 !! Lydia that's neat hootis making machine. You gonna have size 4x for us big boys?
In black short sleeve?
Jim, when you BBQ you ever used sugar on your charcoal, also while you're BBQing?? Sweetens the meat, my father taught me dat, it tastes yummy afterwards.
Anywho, another great video!!
Hey there our friend! Ehhhh this one is going to be a tad on the large side for dry pour😂 We may add some more of these shirts to our inventory…. We’ll keep ya posted! Sugar on the coals…. I have never tried that but definitely will! Sounds super interesting!
@@CajunCountryLivin COOL JIM 😊 have a good night and a great week too.
OMG I'm so happy to see the inspector keeping a close eye on the professional " Hootisville couple" creating cajun country paradise. It's ok to create Hootisville tee shirts
Your welcome lol
Great job guys
Yes!! We love having her on the job!😁
That's a very large project! So excited to watch this journey! 😁
~H
HI! You guys are awesome! And your little one is ABSOLUTLY ADORABLE! GOD bless you all. My hubby has a "question" What is a HOOTIS?
Hootis is just a word for something that you can’t think of it’s proper name. Like “thing a bob” or “whatcha call it”.
Such good form!! LOL. I watched every frame of it. 🤣🤣 So many dad jokes... so little time. Don't threaten me with a good time. I'm all about helping out for good food! I actually liked the commercial this time as well. And lastly... I see the supervisor was out there checking everything out. Its great you have her onsite or who knows how crooked that form would be.. LOL.. PS... I was starting to miss you guys!! Have an amazing week, Yall!!
We are happy that you noticed that we were keeping good form😂 She definitely kept a close watch on our string lines with an iron hand😂
I see the three foot supervisor is keeping an eye on things 😊 Going thru how you make the shirts is really cool 😊❤ Super cool seeing the full size of the shed. Until next time❤
Good morning/afternoon all!!!
Hi Gene!!
Noticed y’all shirts, I own all kinds of hootis , large n small, here n there,near n far .
Love it!!!
Wow 😮. That slab is huuuuuuugggggggeeeeeeeee! That’s going to be a very nice space. I’m glad to see Ladley is keeping a close on on your alls work 😂. Keep up the great work guys. Y’all are killing it!! Thanks for the content
Your shop is going to be awesome. It's huge
Thank you Keith!
Loooooove this!! rockstarsssss
I'm late catching this one. A date with my oldest daughter. This is gonna be amazing. It's HUGE! I wish I could be there to change the filter on the tractor. I haven't done that in decades. Ladly sure handles that Jeep well. She must be getting lots of seat time. Haha! Gotta go see if there is a T-shirt for me. Be well!
You definitely prioritized your day well! A date with your daughter is definitely more important than watching us Mr. Charles!😊 Sure could’ve used your help with that filter change but we were able to get it done and ole blue is back running again now. Ladly is always itching to “go a little faster”😂 Gotta keep a close eye on her routes😂 We hope you are having a great week!
A little Cajun Country on a Monday morning, who could ask for more?! Maybe me! Monday and Friday?!
Thank you! 😁
We have a steakhouse chain here, I think it’s called Hootis, I think that’s how you spells it 👍
Les préparatifs d’une dalle de cette surface représente beaucoup de travail. Bravo Lydia pour ta réussite du tee shift. Bon courage les cousins cajuns 👍😘👏🇫🇷
Yes sir it definitely is Gerard! We hope that you are having a great week cousin!
Missed yall yesterday, but glad ur in today...so much measuring,i own one of them slide measuring stick, vertical. Ive used it to find my corners on my acreage. Great tool. Yall are so funny, and yalls lil girl is so precious!
Thank you so much for watching Karen!
Jill and I could come down, bring our shovels and help. We are far better eaters of BBQ than working though. Ladly is a good helper and jeep driver, too cute. Going to have to get a couple of those shirts.Have a great week looking forward to seeing the slab😊.
Always need good help eating BBQ Mr. Steve!!😁
I like you guys so you have a new subscriber from Cape Town, South Africa.
Hi!! Welcome to the Cajun Family!
Loving the continuing progress…… 💙❤️❤️
Thank you!!
That’s a big job. You have a great start on it!
Thanks Marc! It doesn’t really look very big on camera but it is a bear! Hope you are having a great week!
Sure wish we could help you guys backfill around the forms (Steve is an expert at shoveling). The forms look great. I was always impatient with the beginning process of a big project. I look forward to seeing the slab poured.
You should send Mr. Steve down here for a couple of days with his shovel!😂
Wow,
That's a huge slab.
What a great idea.
A hootis tee shirt
And created by Lydia.
I want one.
I've been hacked using PayPal so I'm trying to figure out a way to work around electronic payments.
Glad Ladly can hang out at the work site with you sometimes now.
She was doing her own little thing 😊
Loved the song selections. Always do.
Wishing all of you the best.
Excited to see what comes next 😊
Hey there Mr. Jim! Good to see you on here! We hope that you are having an outstanding week sir!
that is not super fast but as a craft and hobby absolutely worth doing. getting tee shirts made with your wants would be less work but can see that the value in this can make it an income at least part time and you can make up custom or just a new range of gear. congrats, Not usually gushing with enjoyment but what an amazing family the three of you pets, plus chickens, cattle and nature.
I do enjoy making them, but we have had other merchandise made in the past. Thought it would be fun to show y’all how anyone can do it this time. 🙂
Thanks so much for the support & for watching!!
Love the background work music ☺️
Glad you like it!🙂
I built a hootis Friday. 2 years ago I built a deer retrieval hootis and Friday I built a rack hootis to transport my deer retrieval hootis in the back of my truck. Hootises are so much fun!
Vernon…. Anyone who makes a hootis for their hootis is a Compound Hootis Engineer! Well done sir…. We’ll done!!
If you can't buy it you have to make it yourself. A poor man has poor ways!@@CajunCountryLivin
Awesome y’all 👍
Thanks 👍
If you didn't live so far away, I'd be over in a heartbeat to lend my inexpert help. Especially for some good barbeque! Instead, I'll continue working on my diy permanent LED lighting on the house.
We hope that your lighting project turns out awesome Alma!
I got my shovel ready.....looks like gus wants some belly rubs....lol...
Come on over Robert!!! It’s a shovel party!😂
I predict 3,400 bags of concrete for dry pour. ha ha
Lol!
If I wasn't knee deep in dirt myself (no literally, spent the day doing a 150' by 24" deep trench), I'd bring my tractor over. Still could actually then would have a reason to NOT dig trenches. I could then blame Jim, but Ladly with a hammer is a real good reason for me to do as told. As sweet as she is, she could also be very persuasive ... bwahaha. (oh, and shirt ordered. wooohooo!!!)
Lol! That’s sounds like a lateral move Mr. Matt! A dirt job for a dirt job😂 Happy that you were able to get a shirt before they were sold out!
It will need 2- 3 times more stakes than you have! Let alone rebar!
Nahhhh …. Stay tuned😁
Hi ya guys 👋
Hi!!😋
Looks so good. Y'all are not planning a dry-pour here, right? LOL. Might large pad to mix by hand. Great teamwork. Yes, J, L looks pretty wind or not (17:56). Thanks for sharing
De todas las construcciones entré parejas que e visto ustedes son los números uno trabajan en cordinación
Thank you so so much!!🥰
🎉🎉🎉
❤
❤️
Mais I’ve got a 1023E John Deere wit front loader that would made simple work of back filling da form.
That would definitely make quick work of this shovel job!
I want me a sawmill. lov from south alabama.
Us too!
Summer's wedding? As in Can't Contain Us, Summer?
Yes!!
@@CajunCountryLivin nice! Along with The Life In Pines, You're developing a nicely lil TH-cam family/community. I love it!
I'm trying to spread the word on what a Hootis is to people here in the UK. Love it. Do you deliver to the UK?
Love it!!
Send me an email & we can work it out!
👍
😁😃
Agree that the area is rather large. Will this be another dry pour cement experiment?
Lol! We would have to rent a helicopter to mist it all! Would be an awesome project though!
Hay
Thank you!!
🤗🧡🧡✌
😋😋😚
So I guess when your finished (Your Plumb Done.)
Sure is!😂😂
Will you post to uk 🇬🇧 for shirts please 🙏
Send us an email 😊
👍🏻👌🏻❤🙏🏻
❤️👌😜☺️
I would normally put in about 2 more stakes between the existing stakes so the concrete pressure doesnt bow the forms out. Can you really get away with that few and keep it straight?
Adam we would definitely put more stakes if we had them. We are going to put a dirt berm behind the complete exterior of the form. We have had success in the past doing it this way.
Hope they will be available to Canada soon. Tried to order a hootis shirt and no luck :(
Send me an email & we will work it out!

Y'ALL BEST BE SAVING UP FOR YOUR DAUGHTER'S FIRST PICKUP TRUCK OR JEEP... LOL... Sha'll be at that driving age faster than you think... LOL.. She drives het truck like a boss. She knows she's the boss of her road!!! LOL.... Much love and prayers, may you kics be blessed in Jesus named... BBE..
Yes! She is definitely the boss around here and not afraid to let us know😂
Do you guys ship to Australia
Will u guys be doing rebar ?
Yes.
What attachment do you use to create your "mist"? Every nozzle I've tried does not put out a consistent mist.
We got a cheap one from the dollar store
You think I can do a 1.5” slab for a small horizontal storage 6x4? Suncast suggest 4” thick but I don’t think necessary and I don’t know how many bags concrete 60lb
Absolutely!!!
Quikrete’s website has a calculator that will figure the number of bags you need for your slab. Your 6x4 4” slab will take 19 60lb bags.
@@CajunCountryLivin thanks any idea how many 60 lb bags?
@@jimknott183 right but I didn’t do it 4” deep. Plus I got 60lb bag but I used what they listed for cu foot then into cu yard and divided it by what 60 lb bag covers and got perfect exact which was 7 bags had to elevate form little bit on back side so is what made diff from 6.7 bag to 7 bags. Just finished first must wish me luck. The edge didn’t work great cause was mostly rock near edge or some parts but a shed will be covering it just a small one like that holds 2 big trash cans found it at Sam’s $134 is usually $350 but for pick up it was 134 so I jumped on that and luckily got a helper to carry the cement bags at home but have mesh metal cart I put 8 bags n I got from Home Depot and pulled it around close to area. It worked nice. I am disabled and have fracture shoulder and old break n spine plus ruptured L4-5 and I was able to do it! Anyone can!! The 2x4’s fit in my car Buick Lucerne have a opening from trunk into back seat and they fit thru that so got my timer on to mist again n an hour and I have a lot of lights outside should be ok
Don't keep Ladley young forever. She seems to grow well. Dang when I was a kid our vehicle was a tricycle. But, getting a bicycle was a big deal. At five I had training wheels. I'd scoot around and then go over a mud puddle and be stranded. But heck, while I'm stranded.. I'd pump my wheels in the water just to see the water spray. It's a wonderful world when you five. Or any other yr.
I'm willing to come and help fix anything you guys have that is needing fixed, As payment I would be willing to accept home made boudin
I got a question for you about hootis. What if I have more than one hootis ? What is the plural of hootis ? Is it hootis’s or hootye ?
"Das ma Hootis"...............
😜😜😜😜
Tis a big slab, I hope Jim and you aint doing the pour.
Ladley sometimes looks so lonely.
Working on it 😂😂
@@CajunCountryLivin😯
You make it look so easy 😊.
Larue we usually over complicate the things we do simply because it’s our first time learning most things that we do. With this project, we actually have a little experience from past projects 😂
