fjord is the best map for noobs. The realm teleportation really makes getting around easy and virtually impossible to get lost. And the various tames that exist there make it exciting..Biggest draw back is its kinda cold.
I think the cold weather is actually a plus. It makes a noob think about the temperature, and prepares him for maps like scorched earth, where the weather is truly killing you.
fjord I personally despise the map. For me the Ocean is what ruins the map, that and all the pre-made structures that look almost brand new yet no one lives in them. I've tried playing on it but the vibe of it was just so wrong, definitely when I'd get on a Raft and see ocean creatures which should be deep in the water near the surface because there isn't any place for them to go.

personally I enjoyed Ragnarok the most when I was a noob because of the wide variety in creatures and locations without it being overwhelming

Im new, lost all my data on ragnarok, and the island, (I was level 30 or so on both) so now I wanna try a new map

What map are you playing in the background?
Hands down gen 2 for noobs and vets, you get a free tek suit, get to practice tek suit pvp as that is the meta, and can farm anything just by flying around in your tek suit, new players need to understand that there tons more to the game than dinosaurs and stone bases.
greeting from crystal isles this map is very very easyyy every resource and artifact are easy to gettt except the loot i complete the island then crystal isles then fjordur im now playing abberation
My only problem with Crystal isles is that, because of its size, it feels empty sometimes. Might be a turn off for newer players.

I disagree. If a player is looking for a map that is easy to finish to get a first ascension, they should play scorched earth. Its a compact map with a hard early game, but easy endgame. Once you are kittet out, you just need a couple rexes, mantis or sabertooth and maybe a tylacoleo and you can tackle the boss. The artifacts are easy to get if you bring a cryopod and even the alpha manticore is a breeze.
The island on the other hand is HARD. You need to beat 3 bosses, survive around 15 (!) caves, some of which housing creatures of level 250+ and then you have to conga the tek cave while your dinos are probably dying in the lava cuz pathfinding shennanigans.
And all that with low level creatures! Thats not beginner friendly at all!
If its about starting out easy: Fjordur and Ragnarok.
If its about having an easy boss: the island
