Hey guys, sorry for the clickbaity title but the new algorithm has been kicking my ass so gotta do something to start showing up in your feeds again. And in all fairness, "passing for white" is always a prominent topic of discussion in these comments sections to might as well address it! Anyways, I'm replying to comments for the next hour so let's talk! Thank you for watching!
It's extremely disturbing to hear how prevalent racist comments and conversations about black people when they are not in ear shot. Not surprising though....I was also hoping to hear more examples of how "white privilege" worked (situational) for both of you personally. What were the advantages that you had over your black counterparts? Was it overt or covert?
canar7 it's so common how prevalent racist comments and conversations about white people with black groups are when white people are not in ear shot. Not surprising,
@canar7: That reminds me of the old joke: "When does a black person become a (insert N word)? When he leaves the room." I grew up in the American South in the 1960's. I heard plenty.
These women aren't "black" they CLEARLY have European genetics, its actually disgusting how desperate people like this are to identify with the "less privileged" instead of seeing that all PEOPLE have pros and cons. Try being white in South Africa, see how far white privilege gets you... Pair of idiots
Carlos Slim your an idiot that seems to think South Africa is some how different to the rest of the world, and looks can be deceiving they look white, it’s not stupid to identify with what you actually are, my aunts black and my uncle is mostly white but looks black so what are my cousins who all look black, you’d say black yeah but if it were the other way round and a white person and a light skinned black person have a kid they are idiots for identifying with who they are apparently, they still get racism it’s just second hand most of the time because people think they are white and even if they didn’t identify as mixed or black, one of there parents are and how would you like your mother or fathers race shit on, do yourself a favour and shut the fuck up.
Back in high school, you couldn't tell I was lightskin and people would make comments like "nah your just white" and I've realised as Ive gotten older that they did it to make themselves feel more comfortable because now that my features have changed and I actually look mixed, they act real different, the standard awkwardness when I'm around and "blacking" up their talk when I engage with them
I’m an Aboriginal woman in Australia and white passing . I felt so confused about who I was growing up but as I have met more people who are the same as me . Aboriginal people in Australia make up only %3 of the population so it is very isolating. A lot of people where taken from their parents as children due to white supremacy. Thank you for having this conversation as it’s very different to Australia but it is useful to here this from your perspective. I’ve been a fly on the wall my whole life ! Please keep making videos xx
Your culture is fascinating to me. Such ancient people with incredible survival skills and culture. Reminds me of the Native Americans in the Americas.
As a Black man, I found your video very telling and I appreciated your honesty. As a viewer, I loved your ENERGY! It’s so infectious!!! Me and my gay friends would love to hangout with you two! Lol! Thanks again! :)
REALLY interesting video. Good to see you guys doing more vids together! I've had quite a few bizarre experiences both online and in real life being mixedrace & white-passing. It's a complex subject here in a country that's still much too racially divided. There are people on both sides that have unusual reactions to a person who they think is one thing but are another, then can come the attitude, judgements and even demands. I've had some White people actually get angry at me because I appreciate all that I am, appreciate and respect my Blackness and don't hold it in contempt--real maniacal behavior. Certain people of color have made harsh assumptions as well (but far fewer negative experiences than those I've had with a number of White people), because of my color. I grew up down South and that was an eye-opening experience in how much prejudice still exists, and in institutionalized forms. It can definitely be (at times), an unusual journey being Biracial and on the lighter end. Privilege and discrimination can intersect for some of us.
One thing no-one deserves to be pick, laugh at, mock or bullied just because their skin colour, and if you are biracial or whatever you have the right to complain you were the victim and no matter if the other are black they should know better and don't make you pay for what other people do. A victim is a victim no matter the colour.
I love this! You guys are gorgeous! You look like my girls. I can so relate to you guys. I'm Native American, but people think I'm Hispanic, Mexican, and any other brown race. I'm glad you sent me a message!
WHY CAN'T YOU TWO STOP MOVING and tell us about this without the weird nervous giggles? There's so much that people want to know! Tell us about examples of what you do to combat white peoples anti-blackness and discrimination. Tell us how you've won those battles. In what ways do you two codeswitch to hide your ethnicity and enjoy privilege in the country you live in? Give us your honest positive / negative opinions of white culture and black culture. Any big & small things you would change about those two groups of people if you could wave a magic wand?
You're both so gorgeous, I want to know more from you both. I think the conversation is soooo necessary to talk about race. I'm a light skinned woman and want to have that conversation so bad but people aren't ready to be exposed. Like you said, it really happens to light skinned, pretty girls get picked on for no reason. This video is very intriguing to me frfr!
For me, I grew up where it was predominantly blacks and Hispanic. I’m mixed, half white and hispanic. I was pretty much the loner kid until they found out I was mixed. But I was still bullied, and for the most part, the bullying came from most of the Hispanics kids I knew. My friends were the black kids. As for family, I never felt accepted by my dad’s white side. They hardly came over to visit. And then with my mom’s side, they came over the most and partied a lot, but there has always been this gap. Like they are too afraid to get close to me and my siblings. I have found that most of my family are racist against whites too, so perhaps that was the reason. It just sucks being stuck in between and never feeling like you belong. I’ve had mixed friends before but a lot of them had darker skin and fell in with other non-mixed crowds related to their mix. I have had some experiences of racism from whites too. My husband’s cousin’s ex wife came over once with her friend and friend’s baby. They were already teaching this boy who was 1 at the time, to raise his hand and say “white power!” I just stood there in shock and didn’t know what to say. Then they left. Other times, my husband’s family would point out “the Mexicans” and their music, in a not so friendly way, which of course offended me but I didn’t have the courage in me to say anything. I mostly try to avoid these people now. I stick to myself, as I did a long time ago when I was a child. Have no friends. Only people I really talked to are my other mixed siblings. Wish we could just ban together, as mixed children, to put a stop to racism one day. :/
I ❤️ this video it made me see your side and I respect you ladies. I laughed till tears came out my eyes both from your humor and from the sadness of our society.
I'm Jewish, but I look vaguely Native American (apparently because genetically I'm half Csango, who claim to be descended from Attila the Hun), so I have similar experiences with people making off hand comments about Jews.
I've personally been asked what I was. I told the person that I'm human! Maybe if he askd what was my ethnicity. I would've been more open to give him an answer!
This video is definitely life changing and how race in America is complex in more ways than one and it’s not always black and white (no pun intended). I’m phenotypically and genetically a black man because my autosomal DNA, mitochondria, and Y chromosome are traced back to west and central Africa and I have relatives who are black, white, and mixed on both sides of my family. I’m cool meeting fellow black people in all shades and sharing a mutual bond and fighting the same battle, even if our experiences are different. This even applies to people identifying themselves as mixed while still acknowledging their black side. I believe being black has a lot more to do with having a state of mind than skin color. Anyways, awesome video by the way and I learned something from y’all ladies.
They're mixed not blk . And look more Caucasian ,definitely have very different experiences from the original (African/Blk women . Nice that they shared their experiences an feelings.
My friend is in an interracial marriage and has 3 biracial children. Her eldest son is 23, he went through a stage where he went to a tanning bed to be darker and wore a dreadlocks wig. His hair texture is like Alexis's, it wouldn't stay in dreadlocks, so he wore a wig to be blacker. He came out of trying to be blacker. He now lets his beautiful curls show and they are gorgeous just like Alexis. He does date black women but then his mother is black, so I think it is natural he is attracted to black women over white. His twin sister who is very light skinned, much more than him but does have the tighter texture curls that could be done in dreadlocks. She seems to have issues too. Her gal pals are all white and her SO is Hispanic; they have been together 3 years. They are in no hurry to get married but they are definitely a couple. so, yes, you could see both have (had) "trouble fitting in" and how they identified themselves Now, their younger brother who is 15, looks black, you cannot tell he is biracial. He seems to not have the identity issues they have. Anyway, my friend, both her and her husband are relieved the youngest looks black and you can't tell he is mixed. They feel it will be easier for him.
Well, people are naturally curious. For a long time the topic of mixing with other races was taboo for centuries. Obviously there's a uniqueness to being mixed that many others can't comprehend. I think reflecting on it with an open mind for many of us who are taught a black and white history will be useful as well.
No one cares unless you are serious and want to make a change. You guys do give a prospective, but this interview is disrespectful because you are laughing.
Y'all two should start a youtube series together. Maybe move in together from 6 months to a year. I bet your viewers would support a patreon just for that purpose. I would!

I'm sure mate, got examples? In western society (white countries) everyone is given a chance, we are incredibly diverse comparatively, how are the white people in Africa treated? Or the middle east? Like shit. Why shouldn't white people get more in their countries? (not that they do) Every one else does it but are worse at it and you say nothing. It's so awkward how people assume that if you are multiracial, and very light skinned that race isn't a constant issue in your life also. and it's really interesting how often black people will assume that if they think that you're white than everyone else does.because a lot of white people will know that you're not really white, and then we'll oftentimes treat you like you're dangerous spy or something, trying to sneak in and steal that white privilege from them
in addition to both 'colorism' (skin tone - light vs. dark) and 'facialism' (facial features - European vs. non-European) within the Greater Latino community, there is another dimension with respect to Latino privilege that is worth exploring in greater depth - 'sociolinguistics.' Even though i am Mexican-American, i have been speaking like a non-Hispanic white Michigander for so many years. When i first traveled to Detroit, MI in August 1983 with both my mother and my younger (half)-brother for two weeks, the only thing that i was able to do was to adhere to the 'social norms' - linguistic inflections; sartorial style; cultural tastes; etc. - of young non-Hispanic white Michiganders residing in both Macomb and Oakland Counties. The 'sensibilities' of the family matriarch - whom my mother has known for several decades - have always gravitated toward the Deep South. Additionally, there were not that many Hispanics residing in both Macomb and Oakland Counties at that time. That is why i would never be inclined to characterize myself as a 'Chicano.' Because i speak like a Michigander, i have not experienced any type of discrimination on the basis of my ethnicity. in short, i have always engaged in the opposite practice of 'cultural subservience' vis-à-vis non-Hispanic whites. Well more than twenty years ago, i thrived amongst the primarily non-Hispanic white student population at the University of California - Davis.
When we stop caring and looking for other peoples approval we can move on. We don't have to acknowledge them. I'm racially ambiguous. I'm Caucasian and Cherokee. And a drop Black. Which means someone within the last 100 years was Black. My son Is mxed (Black and White).

All of it I as qn European see and learn just because of you in the USA, such an confused and chaotic society! Mostly we don't have this concept of racial or ethnicity division or passing thing, we identify most by religion or mentality of which land we are from... the biracial people are cool they are free to feel how to identify, mostly the identity most for how they look (the looks black/white/brown shows which genes are more present or expressed)... I can see the teenagers nowadays imitate Hollywood tv series and movies, so if you see something similar in Eu to the USA is just because they imitate what USA TV shows thinking that it is just "cool"... so to be brown is "cool" because in the movies it ia a cool Latino policeman hero; to be "black" i "cool" because the cool rappers with their "cool" slang; to be white is cool because there is the "cool" teenager that plays football and so on... all this originally didn't exists at all here, in the past we laughed about it thinking all of it was ridiculous and only just movies... actually never thought it was so real! Killing and enslavement it was already a thing in Africa, even in the 90ies or also today in some parts there were war in between African tribes and the loser were enslaved or killed from Africans themselves.... Powerful Africans also they themselves gave for money and as a trade slaves to the Europeans! The ugly is on both sides... Slaves lived and were used in The American continent from south to North!!! In Europe didn't have slaves like American continent till last century... Racial issues is true worldwide wide, but not at that extend and so extreme! Racism is everywhere and for everything not only about color, what I'm speaking is the peculiar kind of racism in the US it is something to another extent... What is surprising tho is the fact that a lot of immigrants go to the US anyways even knowing about color issues and all, this is a paradox!!!
But I would venture to say there's a difference between being white passing where people assume what you are and treat you accordingly, vs deliberately lying and omitting for the purpose of not being treated like your subhuman.
I lie a lot to my internal subconscious and tell my self that I am a full blooded Caucasian ,(despite actually being a mixed race Mexican, I just inherited the Caucasoid traits more than my Mongoloid traits) all the time just so I would be believed, because people forget most of us Mexicans are mixed with a portion of the white mans dna and there fore to a lot of people we are the ENEMY. Even though the real enemy that has umbrella grip over all of us is restricted to maybe 17 unseen families.
But whatever a race war is coming and was completely designed to come to fruition by those elite bloodlines, that add fuel to the hate by disproportionately targeting one group of people, which if things build in that direction of orchestrated hurt fueling the hate than we only collectively are to blame for not dealing with these Elites sooner.

61 year old Retired Afro-American nurse. THANK YOU FOR ALL U DO. THIS WAS EYE OPENING.
Loveeee how you guys acknowledged your privilege and didn’t play victim! Well-educated and strong-minded women!
Define playing victim???? Is playing victim acknowledging that white supremacy exists?
Ignorant people are always saying stupid crap about black people playing the victim even though we have to deal with more issues than people like you.
Not surprising,
I agree. I've been harassed, racial profiled, and discriminated against. Racism in employment, pay inequality, and racial bias.
Back in high school, you couldn't tell I was lightskin and people would make comments like "nah your just white" and I've realised as Ive gotten older that they did it to make themselves feel more comfortable because now that my features have changed and I actually look mixed, they act real different, the standard awkwardness when I'm around and "blacking" up their talk when I engage with them
Same here. Same experience
Folks think my husband is white but he corrects them from the beginning. No white passing for him.
If people think he's white then he is white passing
omg you both KINDA look like sisters!!!!!
I thought they were sister until I read this comment
As a Black man, I found your video very telling and I appreciated your honesty. As a viewer, I loved your ENERGY! It’s so infectious!!! Me and my gay friends would love to hangout with you two! Lol! Thanks again! :)
Girl, your hair is on Fleek. 😍
"Put on some Marvin Gaye and I got you." Okay I LOVE you two! Great video. Thanks for sharing this!
I’m 21% African but I’m Spanish.
My aunt will never get that she IS racist, even if she says shes not...she really is.
I try so hard to change the way she speaks and thinks but nope.
Yes!!!!
Juanita Wright And neither of them are cute, sorry not sorry

This is the exact reason I hope I never have mixed children. I don’t want my children passing or having to agonize over which “color to pick”
Well, simply marry someone of the same race. It is not that complicated.
Y'all look lightskin mixed/hispanic... But definitely a lot more white blood than black blood
Yall look more Hispanic then white
be proud of your race, mixed or otherwise.
Me as a dark skin black american...I'm glad you two showed us that biracials aren't checking the white box or looking at themselves as English people.
This video is very intriguing to me frfr!
is that you in your profile picture? You consider yourself light???🤔
Light skin mixed? Or light skin fully black?
A great feeling to find light skinned/light eyed/light haired admixed biracial people, because they are rare, they are our people.
I get this question a lot too. So I guess its not passing white or passing black because people literally say "what are you"?
This is my entire life as a more light complexioned looking biracial woman. Thank you both for this video.
They both are gorgeous... They really look mix race to me.
How are they passing for White? I don't see it🤨🤔🤔🤔
They're mixed not blk . And look more Caucasian ,definitely have very different experiences from the original (African/Blk women . Nice that they shared their experiences an feelings.
Every black person has a unique experience regardless
Crazy. I started following her recently & she instantly reminded me of you. Like you guys even sound the same.
I would!
Very elucidating and important content, thank you both.

My daughter said thank you for watching our video.
Why would you not talk about ethnicity - I don't believe in the word race. Your perspective is just as important.
where do u live because this doesnt really happen where I live in Canada (Vancouver) because the majority of people come from different ethnicities.
Not true! Vancouver is mostly Asian. So many, that it's called Hungcouver! Mixed Black persons, especially the ambiguous ones, are the 1st picks among the dating pool.
@@ohmygollyahottamale5812 What i'm trying to say is that is that you're exposed to people with so many different backgrounds, that you don't care about their skin colour and just hang out with everyone. I'd say there's way more diversity compared to other places in Canada and the States, where most people are white (What I noticed when I went to Quebec). My friends have roots from all over the world, such as the Philippines, Afghanistan, India, Italy, France, Colombia, Brazil...
Is black passing a thing?
Til this day, this is the coolest video of seeing you two together
I think you should both have a TH-cam channel called ‘imposters’ where you talk about white girl problems and see how long you get away with it 😀
I had to fully watch the ads on this video to support the channel its worth it 💪 !!! Interesting perspective 👍

Most people of color are mixed in America though,we aren't fully just African . There is definitely more privilege with lighter skin tones.
You lot just complain about white people and blame your shit lifestyle on them, take some responsibility

It's so awkward how people assume that if you are multiracial, and very light skinned that race isn't a constant issue in your life also.
and it's really interesting how often black people will assume that if they think that you're white than everyone else does.because a lot of white people will know that you're not really white, and then we'll oftentimes treat you like you're dangerous spy or something, trying to sneak in and steal that white privilege from them
It's the number one comment we get. Also.. clickbait. I admit.
Right? I think race is almost a highlighted issue in the multiracial community.

Well, at least they can VERY easily laugh about hearing the N word.
in addition to both 'colorism' (skin tone - light vs. dark) and 'facialism' (facial features - European vs. non-European) within the Greater Latino community, there is another dimension with respect to Latino privilege that is worth exploring in greater depth - 'sociolinguistics.' Even though i am Mexican-American, i have been speaking like a non-Hispanic white Michigander for so many years.
But guys are white… with some black blood
Lmbo... every1 called you the petty girl but I'm so hard....lmbo‼‼😂😅🤣😭
I feel a little different from this video. I feel sad that you have to pick battles on who to educate. Like we shouldn’t give up on that. But at the same time I’m like it’s sad that you rather just kinda brush it off as if it’s not your issue to educate “the unworldly” and I don’t just feel indifferent about this video. But hey I’m just a person with my own opinion. Appreciate you sharing

USA is so messed up with racial issues...! I see a lot of videos and read a lot of comments and learn how society in USA is thinking... this separatism Black/white/Latino; The racial passing issue; the difficulty of biracial and struggles to identify... We thought USA was way better today on such issues and now y'all living together as a mix with no problems... sad!
Yet most European countries captured, killed and started slavery. Mmhmm. Racial issues are world wide. This is facts.
@@kaleenajean In the past in fact USA are those europeans that traded with African tribes for work force and slavery, in fact they are in the USA! Have you been in Europe!? We didn't have all this USA standards and obsession about race... why so much USA "blacks" are going to live in Europe!? Why all these mass immigration in Europe like crazy in these last 10 years!? If Europe was so bad as you said people have gone somewhere else to have a better life!!! In all social media when speaking about racial issues or weapons, the 99% of the videos/documentaries/news/ story times etc... is from USA! So you can't always justify Now with the far far past all the time, instead make you eyes open wide and see where you are living now!!! From the past till today countries have evolved/grown/ changed society/changed system and maybe be better as it was.... Nevertheless have Europe denied your stories, at school and everywhere I'm sure I know your story better than yourself because we don't study partly, only some pieces of history, but all from the beginning the good and the ugly!!!
Sis y'all are keeping it real I like that ☻
Great honesty. But let's be honest white passing wouldn't bother you because its a plus.
You both handle those questions well.
Loved this video. Thanks for your insight.
