Well, not usually a commenter on YT but I just wanted to say that you "helped" me buy a product that doesn't work with my macbook ... I decided to give Ugreen a chance, since my Apple power adapter is faulty after 8 years, and the Ugreen adapter doesn't work, although it states in the website that it does. After an exchange of dozens of emails, pictures and videos with them I finally was able to be refunded. So naturally I wouldn't recommend the brand.
Yep, I have to second your liking of the ugreen chargers Patrick. Bought a couple of UK compatible Ugreen chargers following your earlier reviews and have to say they have been excellent. They really are powerful and charge super quick. Very happy 😃
These are great in a controlled outlet setting like home. But for travel, you never know how terrible the outlet condition is. Sometimes you just need that Apple cord extension OFF the brick in order to successfully plug into a wall. I wish they would have thought about different use cases.
Yes, their GaN charger is good. Recently I got a Ugreen 300W GaN charger. It’s hefty like brick but it supposed to be like this pack with punch and enough to supply power for my MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, ESR 3-in-1 charger. Making my desk tidy and neat. For travel and office commute, I bring 100W Ugreen power adapter with 3 USB-C ports. Never look back to traditional charger 😂
When I travel, which I travel a week a month, I have two iPads, iPhone, AirPod Max, AirPods Pro, and Apple Watch Ultra. I switched over to a UGREEN charger based off your recommendations months ago. I can travel with just one 65 watt charger and charge all of my devices. UGREEN has simplified my tech pouch to just one charger and a few cables for all my needs. I recommend UGREEN too.
@ One laptop, but two iPads, and all the other listed. I use to carry two phones; one personal and one for work. Then I wised up. I just carry my work phone now and got rid of my personal line. I do also carry an external monitor. Ya, my computer bag is over loaded at times.
@@AR9ify I don’t loose anything. I am to OCD when I pack. If one gets damaged. I will just stop and buy a new charger if needed. Or, I will just use my USB on my laptop. A tip for travelers is use the USB ports on the hotel television. I have done that when traveling with family.
See the only problem for me is whether I trust the brand. I don't know if Apple has some secret sauce in their chargers or not (to communicate a specific charging curve to the device) so I've always been a bit weary of 3rd party chargers. And it's not like similar brands haven't had issues in the past (I know I shouldn't lump other Chinese brands together, but that was the case for those "Amazon" products).
i think the main thing is to make sure you're hitting atleast 60watts so your battery doesn't get messed up. Also not choosing the bottom of the barrel no name brands. ugreen and anker seem reputable
The US versions look super neat with their foldable pins. However I think UGreen have missed a trick in not incorporating similar design functionality in their EU and UK products. I bought an iPad mini a couple of months ago in the UK and the Apple charger that came with it had a very neat three pin foldable design similar to the US version. So it can be done. It’s just a thought. I have UGreen cables and they are excellent so I will watch closely to see how their chargers develop further. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Daniel! I agree, it would be lovely to see that functionality on non US chargers. I would imagine it's a space thing. These GaN chargers are packed in deliberately small bodies. US prongs are extremely thin, compared to UK and EU plugs, so they can be integrated. To do the same for UK/EU plugs would require a lot of space inside the body and we would end up with a bulkier charger, perhaps defeating the purpose of a GaN charger.
UGreen do have folding pins on the UK models; I've bought the 3x65W, 1x100W and 2x45W (not all for me!) and all of those had folding pins. I've only seen one that didn't and it was a single-port budget model.
Love my Ugreen Nexode charger but it can very occassionally be a bit flaky with my Steam Deck (slow charger warning) or keep turning on and off with one of my iOS devices. Very rarely but is annoying when it happens.
Ugreen coming with amazing products. However, the Cookie looks like a carbon copy of Nomad Slim 35W and 65W charger. One question: Does these UGreen GaN chargers also function the same way as other GaN chargers as in you need to unplug all other cable and only plug 1 usb C cable to get the max power from 1 port? This has been a problem with most GaN chargers (even the ones from Anker). If there are 2 usb C cables plugged in but only 1 device is being charger, it does not output max power. Keep up with your rambles!
Thanks! Yes, if you want the full 140W from the single port, and you have all the other ports plugged as well, you're probably gonna lose some juice on the main port. It's inevitable, as there is a cap on max power and it will have to be distributed over multiple ports.
If you’re throwing away your original apple chargers I’ll pay the postage to my house. I know I should but I can’t trust third party ones after an electric shock 😂
Generic no name from eBay. The ones that cause house fires 🙅🏼♂️ I will only buy charging cables from the likes of Anker now as well. No more cheap cables that shed and expose their insides.
I want that Cookie. I was looking at the similar form factor charger from Baseus, but if Ugreen has one, I'll prefer that, especially since the Cookie has 3 ports while the one from Baseus only has 2.
Recently I bought Ugreen’s 2m USB-C braided cable to charge my Apple products, it feels very high quality cable, just like MacBooks braided cables, unlike Apple plastic ones…
Can not find the Nexode Pro line anywhere on UGREEN's website - can you please tell me how much the 100w charger weighs? I recently bought Anker GanPrime 100W and would like to compare. Thanks!
Well I’m the same too. I use a green multiport charger and 20w wall charger. I didn’t buy the apple ones ever since they stopped including the plug in the box
@@PatrickRambles Yes, actually I heard that later on in the presentation. Actually, the small ones that are coming soon look like nice options. Besides I do like your reviews because I find them fair and honest. I'll keep watching and wait till the end to comment next time. Thanks and cheers to you :)
I used Nexode Pro 100W and charge my laptop via PD port. The charge was really hot upto 50 celcius degree and the cable as well. Is it fine with such heat?
I have a ugreen 200w GaN charger. Happy with the power but have found that the usb-c ports have all become loose. If I have multiple devices charging, even a small movement causes one or more cables to disconnect from the charger side..
Anker > uGreen 2:18 This charger, for example, is way overpriced and gets WAY WAY too hot. See MobileReviewsEh's video on 100W+ chargers. I went with Aohi's 140W when it's price dropped below 70 bucks.
I'd consider AOHI if they had a strong presence in the UK, but over here we mainly have Ugreen and Anker. That being said, I'm considering the Anker GaN Prime 100W charger, as it supports 100W on either USB-C port, unlike the equivalent Ugreen Nexode Pro 100W, and it's not that much more expensive.
I think the 65w version is the dark horse so to speak. We (I) always lean towards the most powerful charger but the reality is that (for apple MacBook users) if you charge over night say in your hotel room or home before you leave you have loads of power and 65w is plenty. Merry Christmas Patrick and best of luck for 2024! Best. Dave
Hi thank you was looking for review of the cookie 65w glad you doing it! But are you sure charging you’re MacBook or any other device faster does not affect the battery? I have 14inch M1 Pro, IPhone 13 Pro, watch Ultra, AirPods Pro 2 i like to take care of my devices as it takes me money/time to get them so for the batteries I like to keep them between 20% & 80%.
I know Apple tells us to use only proprietary chargers (of course they would), but don’t you charge all your other devices with whatever you’ve got laying around? I don’t buy Apple’s “you’ll hurt the battery” spiel. Battery management is pretty sophisticated these days so it’s a little hard to believe that Apple wouldn’t have a power regulating system built in. Never had any problems using third party chargers.

Do these also work with the USB-C to MagSafe cable from Apple? Anker in their 100W adapter excluded the MagSafe charger for M2 MacBooks explicitly and I wonder why and if those chargers from Ugreen work with MagSafe.
Hey! I checked this for you. Here's Ugreen's response: "It can use the C- MagSafe cable to charge the M2 Macbooks, but it only supports 60W Max charging speed(20V 3A), and cannot reach 100W output, which is not a cable's factor, but the reason for M2 Macbooks equipment."
