Thnx for your thoughts, appreciate your way of giving inside views on Fujifilm. I also came from Sony Full Frame and went to Fujifilm. Wonderful cameras, excellent lenses, very nice photographs. I always said: Sony is math, Fuji is soul

Thanks, really glad you liked the video. It is amazing how many people seem to feel the same about Fujifilm. As with all things on TH-cam there are also many who are going from Sony to Fujifilm. I guess all cameras are pretty great these days. Enjoy your photography.

Really well balanced view points. The high and low reflect my own experience. I’ve noticed that most who have drifted away from the XT5 may have lost sight of what attracted them in the first place. I believe it is important to spend little time watching reviews and more time mastering the Fuji system. The flaws are what forces us to become better photographers.

Thanks very much. I'm glad you liked the video. I agree with you. I sometimes think that people get hung up wanting a camera to be brilliant at everything so they almost go looking for weaknesses and as you say loose sight of what attracted them in the first place. I must admit to finding myself worried about all the autofocus controversy even though I haven't personally had any problems with it. Refocus Simon!... pun intended 😃

I enjoyed watching this also being new to Fujifilm six months ago; thank you for taking the time to make this video. A Nikon user and then Canon for most of my (very long) amateur photo career I just wanted to try something 'completely different' which I am finding refreshing and enjoyable thus far. I look forward to more of your creative content. Good luck with subscribers.

Thanks. I have been a Nikon shooter and I still have and use them but this year I bought an XT-5 and lenses and I really like it, especially the manual controls, retro style and film simulations.

I like your style of presenting, more a thoughtful conversation (albeit one way) than most TH-camrs tend to give us. And echoing the comments of others here, there's something about the X-T series that makes taking photographs more enjoyable and immersive compared with other brands. Eight years ago I bought a used X-T1 but sent it back because I told myself I couldn't afford any additional lenses, and then immediately regretted it. Then in 2023 I bought a used X-T3 and loved it, trading it in against a virtually new XT-5 early this year when I found a deal I couldn't refuse. But while I appreciate my X-T5, I don't enjoy using it quite as much as I did the X-T3!

@@johnr.watson7500 Hi John. Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you liked the video. It's interesting that you're not enjoying the XT5 as much as your XT3. What is it about that camera. I know I've felt underwhelmed by things as small as the shutter should and feel of various cameras, it's such a personal thing isn't it.

Regarding dynamic range , I find Fuji to be a bit cleaver in these situations with DR200 and DR400 for improved dynamic range. Regarding high iso performance, I find the Fuji's noise to be less distracting and more pleasing. On my Sony's the image shifts green and a subtle grid pattern appears. No color shifts on the Fuji and the noise has a filmic quality to it. Professional Sony shooter here that loves his X-T5.

    • @simephotography
      @simephotography  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Yes I've found the dynamic range to be better than I expected. I need to do more investigation with the DR200 and DR400 modes. Also with the high iso performance it never seems to be a problem in most uses. Would you consider using Fujifilm for your professional work?

@@simephotography I just recently did my first professional shoot with Fuji gear. It was newborn family photography just an hour after a baby was born. I didn’t want to show up to the maternity with my big Sony kit or use flash.
It was very dark, and I used my X-T5 and the Sigma 30mm and 16mm f1.4 lenses. I was shooting mainly at f2 with a shutter speed down to 1/60th and ISO ~5,000.
The files had a beautiful softness and remind me of Fujicolor Natura 1600.
The X-T5 was running the latest firmware 4.10 and continuous tracking autofocus has now crossed the threshold to “Good Enough”.
I have the Sigma 16mm f1.4, and 30mm f1.4, Fuji 56mm f1.2, and the Tamron 17-70 f2.8. With the latest 4.10 firmware I’d be comfortable using this kit at a wedding.

Great review on the XT5 and the Fujifilm system. I own the XT30II and have just ordered the XT5. Gone is all the canon gear! The Fujifilm cameras are just a pleasure to use and own, I think it’s an age thing as it takes me back to a 1970’s Practika 35mm I stared with. The Fujifilm colours and images are simply stunning and even better is hardly any editing to do!

Thanks for an excellent presentation describing use of the XT5. I’m a hobby photographer and live in regional Australia. I use both prime and zoom lenses for different photographic needs/wishes. I like travelling with my camera and 2025 will take us on a road trip in France. I’ve always liked travelling with the XF 16-55 f2.8, albeit the weight of the lens is/was a deterrent to carrying it. I’ve just spent hard earned money on the new MK2 version of the lens and hope the reduced weight and size make it a better travel companion.

@ Hi again, I’m still awaiting delivery of the new lens, so still have the previous version which I plan to sell. It’s still in mint condition. The weight change will be bliss, and if what I’ve read of the photographic quality of the new lens is matched by reality I’ll be very pleased. I’m travelling internationally in mid 2025 and the new lens will be travelling with me!

Fujifilm as a company seems to operate on a very different moral level than the others. They are truly passionate about their products. The passion is reflected in the design of the cameras and software. There are periodic updates that align with their philosophy of constant improvement. The film simulations are unmatched. Fuji understands color better than most and it shows. Good friends.

@@danieldoernen9983 Yes it's an definitely a consideration for your camera to be acceptable to your clients. Maybe that's why some people seem to have dual setups for different use cases. Expensive though!
