8:26 Fall 2022 previews begin! I wanted to share my no buy experience/plan for those of you who find yourself compulsively shopping for new products. I realize this doesn't apply to everyone, so please disregard the first part of the video if it does't apply to you. It's important for me to be transparent with you about the shopping habits I see perpetuated on social media because it's not healthy. I love to review new products and create videos for you to enjoy but ultimately my goal is to help you spend your money more wisely. Let me know your thoughts on these fall 2022 makeup collections, does anything stand out to you?! xx
Hello Erin, just to let you know that I don’t own a single Chanel products or any of the luxuries make up. The only thing that I have is a eyes shadow palette from Natasha glam that I have tread myself for my birthday 2 years ago. I enjoy watching you because your personality, you beautiful, and fun . And I learned a thing or two from watching you all these years . Keep it going. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi Erin, The only item I buy from Chanel and repurchase many times is No. 5! I watch your Chanel because it just make sense! And here I was still looking forward to your Nordstrom haul☹️🥰
The Dior fall nail colors are available on their website now. The RosewoodRosewood is like a slightly deeper version of Grace from their Spring line. The RedRed was surprisingly orangey. On the fence about it. As for the products you showed, I am loving the nude launch from Chanel. And the Rouge Allure is my favorite bullet formula from them. I'll pick up a couple of the deeper lip and nail colors for sure. And maybe two for the nail colors, So much of their LE stuff never hits stores at all and just sells out. Never to return. Thanks for the video!💚
I remind myself that I am not a content creator and I need to live on a budget. I went a little crazy during covid with fragrances and realized I needed to reign it in. This video is a nice reminder to keep things in perspective!!💐💖🤗
This post is so humbling and admirable. I truly appreciated this one. It's a reminder to us all that we need to take the time to "re-center" ourselves and tune out all of the "gotta keep up with the"......anxiety filled non-sense. Declutter our minds and our lives. Re-focus. Love this so much. Thank you for this video post.
Yes Chanel!!! That is absolutely what brought me here. I think it’s been three years. I love your reviews and 90% of the time I agree with your picks and either have already purchased or run out and buy. As far as the tweeds….yes ma’am I will be purchasing. I’m also on a buying freeze until the holidays (specifically Black Friday 😂) the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale did me in. I love everything I got but it was ENOUGH for a few months.
I want to do more with my discretionary income than have the latest makeup releases. I have been on a no buy low buy all year. More low buy since I did shop the Spring VIB sale and also Ulta, but about half of what I normally spend. At this point, I have it all so it needs to be a really special beauty product to grab my attention. I also recently moved to a significantly smaller space and I am having a heck of a time with all of my beauty and skin products. It’s been a burden moving all this stuff and storing it in a way that I still see it. I’ll maintain my no buy and see what the Holiday releases look like. 😍
You and I don't have the same aesthetic and I am a little older than you, but I love makeup and pefume and I really enjoy watching your videos mainly because you seem so sweet and genuine but also you're so pretty and your voice is relaxing.
The tweed cases are a wow. I will probably buy one pallet from this collection. I totally agree with you on holding off on purchasing the latest and greatest. Holding off, I found I didn’t really miss anything. I would rather allocate my money to something I’m going to really use, instead of putting in a drawer to be used once or twice.
After packing up my entire collection and moving it across country, this message hits my current feelings on the nose. I for one understand you in regard to how much money can be spent on beauty products. While I love them ALOT, it has truly become a matter of what’s new that I can try and immediately put down when I already own such beautiful things that I use regularly. My goal for the remainder of the summer and start of the fall is three months of replacement only buying-which in all honest means I won’t need a single thing during that time. I ready to use up more of my things and really enjoy all the pretty things that I own from August 1 to November 1.
Thank you as always for your brutal honesty. I have been watching your channel for a few years now and love it all. I’ll be joining you in the no buy philosophy. Thank you for speaking up and giving me the courage to do so too. I know this totally goes against what the retailers want, but will win loyalty in the end. Thanks Erin!
Erin, you have a practical approach to buying makeup as a content creator!! I'm glad you're saying this! I am loving my current collection and there are other things to purchase!💫🥰🤗
Hi Erin ! Chanel and Chantecaille collections speak to me …. Specially the Chantecaille with the perfect everyday colors , very office appropriate. Have a good day !🌻
Great opener to the video. Thank you for discussing the toxic nature of the fast make up world (it’s as bad as the fast fashion world in terms of waste). I’m glad you’re feeling a bit happier! I’ve always found massive make up hauls overwhelming and prefer to be able to appreciate individual products fully. I’ve been on a replacement-only approach to make up for over a year, and I am much much happier with my make up collection! Like you I have one exception, which is the hourglass holiday collections haha.
I’m most excited for the Chanel collection as well. I have been on a no buy since 2020 because like you I just fell overwhelmed and it was all starting to look the same.
I can absolutely relate with your no buy period bc it is overwhelming. I have such an appreciation for how you craft your content! Pls don't misunderstand the reason we are here is for you and not the products. Thanks for sharing
I just finished purging old makeup….and now in the process of purging clothes I don’t wear in my closet! It’s actually fun 🤩! To see a streamlined organized space is rewarding! Great video Erin!
I totally agree all the makeup launches are overwhelming. I’m glad you have found joy I. Skipping launches. I have to love it to get it! I want the tweed eyeshadow that is orangey and I would love to try that guerlain foundation if it comes light enough.
Hi, guys. Erin, I would love to see you use products already purchased/shared and , say, do a different eye, different blushes, lips, etc. For me, it’s all starting to look the same. I might not have shades all in one place, but I can create it by using what I already have. All new all the time makes me uninspired. Love to all ❤️💄
Congratulations! Well spoken Erin. With the fairly recent addition of social media marketing being so highly lucrative for cosmetic companies, I believe too many cosmetic companies have irresponsibly pushed cosmetics/skin care into being "disposable". The old way cosmetic companies operated was sustainable and responsible. Occasionally Cosmetic companies would introduce new colors to the lineup and discontinue colors that were not selling. Perhaps a new product. Once every few years they might reformulate something to make it perform better. There would be holiday and spring limited edition items but they were curated. Now cosmetic companies have an unending parade of new launches for Fall, Holiday, Valentines Day, Spring, Summer and random limited edition pieces. They also reformulate products way too much. I cannot help but get the feeling they do this to sell more products (yes there is the occasional cutting edge reformulation but most of the time this is not the case). It is insane, irresponsible and wasteful, not to mention predatory on the people who enjoy cosmetics. Only we cannot enjoy what we already have (or forget what we loved, like you did) because we MUST buy more, more, more!!! I cannot say it enough, I love and appreciate what you do Erin. That being said I am purchasing a couple of Chanel tweed eyeshadows! I miss their tweed blush launches.
YSL looks interesting. The nude fall lipsticks from Chanel Iook very pretty , tweed eyeshadows too, 58 intensite LE, the whole fall nude collection from Chanel is gorgeous. I like it very much.
I find that brands have started releasing less or at least less frequently (e.g. I remember when it fet like Charlotte Tilbury came out with something new every week); however, at the same time, there’s sooo many brands nowadays, so even though they’re releasing less, there’s so much more. And while hyped up products would be talked about for months on end a few years back, now they have to make space for new products in a few weeks or so it seems. I definitely miss the days when we’d appreciate what we have more vs. haul after haul after haul. Thank you for helping us “slow down” and question the “gotta have them all” mentality :)
Yes! I am gearing up for a move in just under a year and I wan to move as little as possible. I am on the no buy plan across the board and I’m really taking stock of what I use so that I can purge my clothes, makeup, kitchen… all of it before I decide to pack and move it.
Appreciate your no-buy and thoughts around doing it. I've also took a break from Instagram which fueled my makeup buying. The only release I'm planning so far are the Chanel Tweed and Intensite & maybe Holiday release. We'll see what Tom Ford and Chantecaille comes out with for holiday. Thanks Erin!
What i know is that there will be 4 tweed eyeshadow quads, and the mascara will be black with a patented air tight mechanism for the click opening to prevent mascara from drying. I cannot wait for all the new Chanel launches, I’ll be buying one from everything. 😅
The tweed eyeshadows look great - I actually like the pinky purple hue the most. Looks especially nice on green eyes. Not much else is exciting me. I am embracing the ‘no buy’ with you! I have way too much makeup and have been buying over the internet - so much of it I would have bypassed if it were in person. Fear of COVID has kept me away from shopping in person. I’ve managed to stay healthy to date, and am trying my best to stay that way.
At this point, I have so many eyeshadow palettes that I would rather watch videos for new looks using the palettes I have than constant new product reviews.
Its so hard, I love foundation and have to reign myself in and not purchase every foundation launch! I landed on Valentino foundation and its beautiful! I get compliments on my skin when i wear it. Im 51
I personally like seeing favorites, tutorials, tips and tricks (loved your blush video ft. pml blushes!). I agree that you do not need to purchase/ review every new product - as a consumer personally it makes me crazy to keep seeing new things.
Thank you Erin for your experience with no buy. I do have a FOMO with makeup, I too did the no buy after Christmas. I to had a similar experience about my Collection. I came to discover it, and fell in love with my Treasure (: ! What I would like to see is more of the shop my collection. See different ways you put you makeup on. Especially Chanel!!!
Chanel Chanel Chanel! I too am on a no buy.. I broke my ankle last year and went nuts ordering fragrance and some makeup. I have so much and typically I don't buy summer collections because the colors aren't right for me, but bring on the Chanel fall collection..I have to have those tweeds( at least one lol) and a few of the lipsticks. So excited. I totally agree with your low buy/no buy.. The world around us has gotten very expensive and a 40 dollar lipstick seems a bit excessive when you think about it...( but I will get them anyways lol) Chanel brought me to you and I have enjoyed your content consistently! Thank You Erin!!
I could not agree more with you mindfulness comments, we do not need everything and the world will still spin if we don't have everything Plus it makes every considered purchase all the more valued 💗
Hi Erin! I appreciate your videos! I am looking forward to the tweed collection! The only pallet I own is the natasha denona glam pallet so I am leaning towards the warmer quad!
What an inspirational introduction. I'm trying, and failing, to have a no buy season. On the other hand, I will save my money for 2 of the Tweed Pallets and no more makeup for me until the end of the year.
There are actually four tweed palettes. The other one has coppery tones. It a different post on Chic Profile. I’m planning on getting all except for the orange-toned one.
I also do love the Chanel collections. I have my eye on the quads with the tweed- how gorgeous!! Thankyou as always for your informative and always interesting and fun video. Congrats on your low buy, I have also scaled back, also been enjoying and using what I have. Though I find it hard to resist perfume! :-) x
Happy Birthday Erin, and looking so beautiful!!!!🤩🎉🤩🎉🤩🎉🤩🎉 I really admire your no buy!!!!👏👏👏👏 I think we all can be overwhelmed by the never stopping makeup industry. I do not buy what a TH-camr purchases or gets i n PR, that would be crazy, but just another makeup addict here!!! Am i doing better? Yes, a bit. I stopped all beaming highlighters as they disappoint me anyway, being 52. Further, i use less shadows like from PMG, so paying 155 euro's plus 17 for shipping for her new eyeshadow palette, also more sensitive eyes here. What did i love recently? I love the most my Chantecaille skin tint. Further i am happy that i could finally purchase some Suqqu quads, which is not easy from The Netherlands. And Wayne Goss, Erin, he almost brought back the legenday TF Cocoa Mirage quad, colour the same plus extra colours and formula close! Further i love that Hourglass came with a foundation without fragrance, as i have a sensitive skin. I only swatched it, just received, but the swatch is very beautiful! I decided yesterday, not another colour, one is enough. But you: i am more than proud of you!!! I did a little better, you did much better, we only have one planet. Thanks for sharing!!! What would i really love to purchase..Chantecaille fall quads, soft on the eyes and everyday user friendly colours. And trying a fall Suqqu quad. Have a wonderful day!!!😘😘😘😘
Love your videos, but yes chanel is my favorite brand. Thanks for this review, it's very important that you talk about the pressure to buy more products. I love makeup, but I hade to learn to wait and think if I realy neded the product 😉
Hey!! Erin I really really love your luxury makeup collection so so much you inspired me so so much and I wish you reach 100K Subscribers very very soon!💖💫😭😭
The Chanel makeup collection is definitely the one I'm interested, especially those tweed eyeshadow quads. Everything else like you said is kind of "meh," especially the Dior makeup collection for Fall. Too many warm browns, reds and russets that just don't suit me at all.
I love that you did this video. I also slowed down on my makeup purchases because I have so much. I do like all the upcoming Chanel Fall eyeshadows, lipsticks and polish colors. I love Dior but cannot buy anymore palettes with red colors. Enough! I am skipping the new Pat McGrath, Chantecalle and Givenchy collections.
I have a hard time saying No to Chanel. I love the middle tweed Chanel palette. Don’t ever feel bad about no-buy/low buys Erin. Another fabulous video.. 🥰💕💥
Ah, the Guerlain foundation looks so pretty. Probably right it’s a targeted release, the shade range seems narrow when Guerlain usually shoots straight to the medium.
Erin, it is hard to get over FOMO. I’ve only stopped buying every launch from my favorite brands just lately. I’d like to retire in a few years and need to pay off my credit cards!
Depending on a bunch of different factors, some people's natural lips are a rosy/pinky/mauvy/etc in tone. I feel like I have more often seen it in medium skintones
Erin, i admire your commitment to scale back on purchasing. I am also onboard for a “no buy “ but im wondering when the Sephora savings event will come around ? Any idea of the dates? Although it doesn’t help with Chanel, im trying to hold out on Westman Atelier and Dior until the sale. So far im being strong 🥰
I actually appreciate chanel having a lot of pinks, reds, and corals. Most nudes don't look good on my. I have a very fair neutral skintone with reddish lips. So brown, mauve, beige, purple, and washed out nude pinks don't suit my coloring. I find it hard in other makeup lines to find many options that aren't "nude" or mauvey or has a brownish base to it.
I've been on a no buy this year. I have bought a few things...but far less than usual! I feel much better...using up what I have..and less guilt for buying items that I likely won't use up, or already have similar colors of. I would love to only have Chanel products...would not buy too much since they are pricey..and would be sure to use those up...because they are pricey.. lol.
Hi Erin, Do you know if Chanel's new eyeshadow collection is talc-free? Also, if you have heard whether they have any eyeshadow in the works to go with their No. 1 De Chanel line?
Dior blush is a repromote of Charnelle, which I love. I’m getting the Dior green/orange as those flatter me. Chanel doesn’t speak to me except for that lip that looks like Adrienne. No to Chantecaille
Dumb mask wearing for 3 years = very little makeup wearing/purchasing. I’ve got So much that is expired now that it is making me be more reined in with the little I purchase. It’s made me realize what excess I had gotten into.
Love ur video, I am on no by also. My husband have had. Covid for two weeks 😩 worse was no taste and I cannot smell my perfume. This shall I hope passes. My havenese dog is terminal but he made it from a splenectomy. He is my fur baby. I am a dire hard Chanel customer and I have leaned so much from u thank you.
I tried a no buy but keep failing :/ my birthday is in October and told myself I won't buy anything until then. I tried so many times 😪 starting August 1st, I am going to try again! I found one favorite lip product. Maybe it'll help me not to spend 🤔 Just yesterday I purchased Make Up Forever lipstick AND Dior Forever Dior lipstick (transferproof bulleted version). I don't have money to do that 😩
I'm so tired of red eyeshadows. The last years I feel like they recycle everything. Honestly I prefer the purple eyeshadow pallet from last year's Chanel fall collection. From the new Chanel collection I would like the more neutral one. I also don't buy a lot of make up lately. I buy just what I need. Also because the prices are so high and I don't think they are justified. I mean it's the same product amount and the same formula. For some products they changed the formula and they are not as good as they were before but just the same the price is really high.
Not buying the Guerlain foundation and pointing out to them, over social media or other medium, that their shade range perpetuates colorism would be a morally sound decision.
@@dianadang2336 There are people in Japan with skintones in the medium range. They don't get representation because of colourism in their own country and abroad. Abroad, people have a stereotypical image of East Asian in their minds.
Beauty brands have, since beauty youtube thrived, been really working the consumer, to keep them buying buying buying. Very capitalistic and unfortunately it takes away from the love for makeup - you are so busy indeed with purchasing instead of enjoying.

Love your honesty! I keep coming back to your channel for no BS truthful reviews. Yayyy you are getting close to 100k, I’m so excited for you
Chanel Chanel Chanel! I too am on a no buy.. I broke my ankle last year and went nuts ordering fragrance and some makeup. I missed out on the Chanel Ombré blush. Maybe I’ll grab that Dior Blush!
I could not agree more with you mindfulness comments, we do not need everything and the world will still spin if we don't have everything
Plus it makes every considered purchase all the more valued 💗
Hi Erin! I appreciate your videos! I am looking forward to the tweed collection! The only pallet I own is the natasha denona glam pallet so I am leaning towards the warmer quad!
Yes I’m with you girl , trying to use what I have. But I have been buying fragrances
What an inspirational introduction. I'm trying, and failing, to have a no buy season.
On the other hand, I will save my money for 2 of the Tweed Pallets and no more makeup for me until the end of the year.
I'm proud of you
Am soo excited for the tweets collection I want all 3 of the palettes 2 they are beautiful
There are actually four tweed palettes. The other one has coppery tones. It a different post on Chic Profile.
I’m planning on getting all except for the orange-toned one.
There are actually 4 tweed pallettes! The last one is Tweed Cuivré which is a bit more of a warm toned brown:)
Omg! I don't know how you do "no buy". I get so excited for eyeshadow launches. I can't go a month without buying something! 🤦🏻♀️
Erin!!! I was waiting for your Nordstrom Haul! Love this video too! ❤️
Have a wonderful day!!!😘😘😘😘
Happy, happy birthday gorgeous Erin! 🎉🎂😃 Hope your day is very special! Thanks for being one of my favorite you tubers! 😘
Love your videos, but yes chanel is my favorite brand. Thanks for this review, it's very important that you talk about the pressure to buy more products. I love makeup, but I hade to learn to wait and think if I realy neded the product 😉
Definitely want a Chanel tweed palette
I have scaled back. I just got tired of the beauty brands yanking my chain. However I am definitely getting the Chanel tweed eyeshadows! 💝
I want one of those tweed palettes 😃
Depending on a bunch of different factors, some people's natural lips are a rosy/pinky/mauvy/etc in tone. I feel like I have more often seen it in medium skintones
I only buy Chanel so it’s easy for me
Erin, i admire your commitment to scale back on purchasing.
CHANEL!!!
Also, Happy Belated Birthday!! 🎉❤️🎉❤️
Do you know the launch date of tweed covered eye palette in the US??
I've been on a no buy this year. I have bought a few things...but far less than usual! I feel much better...using up what I have..and less guilt for buying items that I likely won't use up, or already have similar colors of. I would love to only have Chanel products...would not buy too much since they are pricey..and would be sure to use those up...because they are pricey.. lol.
Happy birthday princess
I believe there are four tweed palettes....not 4.
Yes, there is also a copper one.
Love this intro, thank you
When is chanel collection coming out?
Hi Erin, Do you know if Chanel's new eyeshadow collection is talc-free? Also, if you have heard whether they have any eyeshadow in the works to go with their No. 1 De Chanel line?
Why aren’t you doing fragrances anymore? That was the main reason I subscribed to your channel.
Dior blush is a repromote of Charnelle, which I love. I’m getting the Dior green/orange as those flatter me. Chanel doesn’t speak to me except for that lip that looks like Adrienne. No to Chantecaille
Your decision for a no buy and care of your mental health is great!
So true thank you for sharing.
Thank you great job
Dumb mask wearing for 3 years = very little makeup wearing/purchasing. I’ve got So much that is expired now that it is making me be more reined in with the little I purchase. It’s made me realize what excess I had gotten into.
Love ur video, I am on no by also. My husband have had. Covid for two weeks 😩 worse was no taste and I cannot smell my perfume. This shall I hope passes. My havenese dog is terminal but he made it from a splenectomy. He is my fur baby. I am a dire hard Chanel customer and I have leaned so much from u thank you.
I ended up ordering one of the darker Chanel fall lipsticks. I have a a few nudes like Adrianne but I feel like it hardly shows up on me.
I don't have money to do that 😩
Great philosophy!
Is this the second Chanel tweed release?
I think it will 4 tweed
I’ve been on a low buy also it’s very hard though 😬
❤️❤️❤️
If they are releasing these shades in Japan, a limited color range makes sense given the population
Why so much talking 😂😂
