Coming along on the katana 1126 build nicely. Love the wire trick in the fiberglass repair. Dont lend the neighbors your tools anymore..😂🤣

The 88 black with gold decals was a Australian/New Zealand (possibly some other markets) "special edition" i was told by a Suzuki dealer that it was just a marketing ploy to shift more J's before the new slingshot K was released. The first 1100 i ever owned was a black "special edition" at the time i was always planning to get it painted with Yoshimura team colours as i didn't like it, now i think they look quite good. The GS1200SS i own also came in black and i have had that painted in Crosby/Cooley Yoshimura 1980 Suzuka 8hr colours.
Did you guys get the 01-02 GS1200SS in North America?

FYI:The black and gold gsxr 1100 is actually suppose to be a black multi colored pearl!

Yes you can. The '88 are 3 spoke 18" wheels-the '89 are 3 spoke 17" wheels . They look exactly the same except for the size.

12:14 What a great idea putting wire in the fix to give it strength, my bottom left fairing on my 86 1100 has a missing piece almost the same shape, (the most rearward bit on the left under fairing) that some idiot cut off for some reason. Going to use this trick instead of trying to find an original replacement.
