Yea mate that’s good mail going back to those standard headers a genuine 4 into 2 then a 2 into 1 original Suzuki exhaust end is restricted but those standard headers are good for low down & midrange torque , you probably know with the standard system you crack it open at 6000 and it stands up easy , with bigger headers even with air filter & carb jetting it struggles to do it , aftermarket big dia headers are good for revs at top end but when do you need to to go over 260 - 270 s. 👊

These were good mail , with the 26 degree rake & 18 inch front wheel, the faster you went they better they handled

First model GIXXER with the 18” front wheel & 26 degree of steering head rake was the greatest handling GIXXER of the lot , the faster they went , the better they handled Suzuki went backwards with the Sling-Shot series in 1989 , sure it made them steer quicker with the tighter rake & 17” front wheel but they handled vaguely everywhere else. So they had it & lost it .. Yamaha then took over with the R1’s ever since.

I have installed 6 infiltrator leech lines in the last 10 or so years and have had no problems. But I have always wondered if the waste water makes it way to the end of the field. My common sense has led me to believe the first ten ft or so gets most of the drainage and the end gets hardly nothing. Was that the case with this field? My guess is as long as its basically water , and not grease or heavy oily waste water it should be fine. But then I have never gone back to any fields I have done and checked the ends of them.

I have the 89 black silver and gray 1100. Bought it new. I believe the red and black version was a European version not released in the US.

parts here in ontario are hard to get hold of. either people want 3 times the worth or hoarders keep hoarding them. disapointing to those who want to restore

What size are the flatslides on it m8 36/38 ideal 40 to much sounds like you need ti strip and rebuild them and find out what needle groove you should be on

yes, that is a super clean and original first gen 1100. nice collection you have there. you are a lucky man.

Somethin seriously wrong with that - a gsxr should fire up on the button even after a couple of months ! I reckon it's punishing you for dressing it in mismatching bodywork 😂😂

Beautiful Bikes! My Dad had one of these back when they were new(ish) in the early 90s. I always loved the looks of the Blue & White GSXRs with their dual round headlights. I'm not really sure where these all went, even 20 years you NEVER saw these out on the road. That motor whether in the GSXR, Katana or Bandit is just a bombproof motor with good torque and HP even if it doesn't scream like the later liquid cooled 1000s.

So glad I found this video. I found an original GSXR 1100 exhaust system that was removed by the dealer and stowed away on a shelf for decades. I've been staring at it and the mounting hard wondering how I will juggle everything.

Danny, long time no Utube msg, I hope all is well. I have a question, I have a 1986 GSXR-750G (california model) with Mikuni carbs model 28A10. I broke them down last week to clean them and a small 10mm long x 3mm wide spring came out of carb1 & carb4 I think. Do you know what this spring is for? TY as always and stay warm.
