I'm really benefiting from this and I am so grateful that with all the schoolwork and busyness you have, you still make the time to share your tips with us and help us out. thank you.
its great that you've decided to take responsibility to make yourself better so early on. I wish you the best of luck and remember to take rests as well.
Middle school can be rough, personally middle school was not too bad for me but for a lot of people I know their grades really started to drop in middle school. I’m talking A and B students going to C and D average students. Make sure to take it seriously, I feel like if you don’t focus in middle school it’ll definitely be harder in high school because middle school is like a foundation. If you have a weak foundation the rest of it won’t be as good. But you don’t have to obsess, so take it easy on yourself sometimes ok? :)
Congrats on taking responsibility, but make sure to enjoy a bit as well as high school is anything but easy, get thorough with the concepts with understanding,as the base of high school lies in middle school and this is the time you create great memories, so have fun and enjoy learning. 2:50 YES my old school used to make us study only by taking notes. We took tons of note every single day for every subject and we were taught to memorize every bit of it for our exams. MOST students ended up forgetting what they studied by the time exams ended including me. I got in a new school in a new country and their teaching technique is way more different + effective. I've come to enjoy learning again bcus I am provided with more resources and materials that I wasn't provided with at my old school such as visual, audio, wifi, etc.
I haven’t done great in my classes lately because i had a really sad period where I just couldn’t see the point in school. But now I really want to improve. I appreciate this. I hope it helps my grades too😅

i’ve learned to spend 30 minutes-1 hour studying and still get a mark above 90 on my exams. i’ve used this technique my whole life and it’s been a sanity saver :’D
i find that something helpful is to record yourself explaining a concept. my math teacher used to say, if you can teach it to someone else, that's how you know you've learned it well. so recording yourself helps to make sure that you really internalized an idea bc you can concisely express it. you can also play back the recordings to review some more if you're on the bus or doing dishes or something, which i find really helpful. i think this works best w subjects like history or english, which are more abstract, but it can also help remember definitions for stuff like chem or bio.
Ok, not to spread mis-information about a mental health disorder, not a proffesional, but I've heard a lot of stories about people who are "lazy" or "procrastinaters" habing undiagnosed adhd. Not saying you have to self diagnose or real diagnose, i havent, but just look up study tips for people with adhd and see if it helps.
I'm a procrastinator, so I'd always start studying for a test way to late (like one to two days before the test), but since I'm trying to improve, this helps alot. Thank you for this :)
this is so helpful. honestly as a high school student, i always thought doing well just came about by simply studying harder. the more you study and the more time you put in, the better you will do. what you put in is what you get out. but over time, i’ve learned that studying is a skill and its an art. its so much more than just spending a lot of time on the material. my previous conception of studying was incorrect. with that being said, thanks so much for the help!

I'm really planning on getting high grades for this school year because I'm in 12th grade already and I want to get accepted at my desired university. But my biggest problem is that I'm a big procrastinator and I always struggle with deadlines. Since we're finally having face-to-face classes where I live, I think I'll do better. I'll definitely try to implement what you've said in this video in my own study routine so thanks a lot. Wish me luck lol

I'm going into my third year of college and the best tip I got from this video was the planning to hang out with friends after a test! It's super easy for me to get caught up in the endless amount of things in my to do lists and go, "Okay, I finished this big exam, now I need to start working super hard on this project due next week..." I already do like a reward system during my study sessions, but I never thought to incorporate a reward like after I finish with a test or project cause for me the reward was always the idea that finally I'm done with it.
i dont know if its just me, but i study the night before - sometimes even ijust in the morning and it works. the evening before the test i just read what i have to know few times, then slowly repeat it in my head. when i go to sleep i repeat everything in my head and in the morning its glued in my brain... ive never learned more than the day before and i ALWAYS get excellent grades. hope this helps
Same method of me. Thats why I top the school and top my online games as well 😆 But I figured this kind of studying habit only stores short term memory and wont make you the valedictorian
For me solving sample papers or giving mock tests is just the best..and I've realized it...my grades went so high by just introducing sample papers after completing the chapters..and it's just so amusing..so just do it
Pro Chem tip from a high school grad who took three years of chem and never got less than an A: - organicchemistrytutor and Professor Dave explains on TH-cam are really good at explaining chemistry concepts and problems (Dave is more conceptual and chem tutor is more problem solving oriented) -Usually the best study strat for this subject is to just work on a lot of practice problems. Don’t be afraid to fail or trip up in the beginning, start simple and work your way up to more complex problems. Make sure you understand a problem before moving on to the next though. Gl to y’all n happy studying :D
i'm already a graduate of college and find this topic interesting. looks like i'm gonna try to integrate this in studying for licensure exams and certifications. thanks for the tips!
whoa I've watched quite a lot of these 'how to study smart' videos and I honestly wasn't going to click on this video because I didn't think I'd gain anything by watching it, but I learnt a lot, so thank you!
My problem isn’t studying too much, not at all. During 10th grade I gave up, I stopped studying at all because everything especially math started getting so difficult, so out of reach that I felt like I couldn’t do anything about it. It felt like no matter what I did I wouldn’t understand it so why even bother. I still passed thanks to the support of my friends. But I’m worried for 11th grade, in less than 2 weeks we go back to school and I really don’t want to repeat giving up, but I don’t know how to motivate myself to understand things I don’t understand.
This was literally me this year. I was struggling so much with chemistry and would just look over notes like the night before. But throughout the year Recopied my notes in an easier way for me to remember and studied like two nights before helped so much 😭
The thing that helps me the most in getting good grades is that I’m great at concentrating on things I feel like will be needed so I concentrate a lot in class and everything the teacher says just somehow gets imprinted in my mind and when I’m about to study for my test I read without revising at least 7days before the exam and the day before the exam (means the exam is next day) that’s when I study and revise
this tips feel so realistic and easier for a highschool student than a 5-hour study session, ill def try those thanks for the video! hope i get good grades on my next test
Thank you soo much for the tips! I also struggle in chemistry lately and I am writing my finals in January. I am really panicking, since I lack a lot of basic knowledge. Even though I still have about 5 months left, using your tips will certainly help me! Thank you 😊
This helped me a lot Annie! As an 8th grader I'm failing most subjects but I'm slowly starting to get good marks in subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Maths! This video is sure to help me in my future exams! Love the advice keep up the good work!!

(not mine but i thought this would help!)
I saw this at the perfect time because I've recently been stressing about my AP exams since I don't know how to study but this video will help a lot so tysm!
I also have a tip! If you have to learn definitions then draw them! You dont have to draw it like perfectly just do a sketch while saying the definition and you mind will connect the drawing with the words so if you just imagine the drawing you will know the definition
watching this so i can ace my summer exams this year!! Ill be studying six weeks ahead 2 hrs every weekday (except for fridays) and five hours on the weekend, I'm starting tmrw, wish me luck!!
thank you for this !! i just started my senior year about a month ago, so am definitely going to implement these into my study routine in preparation for my exams next week ~ i also study chemistry so know how difficult those wordy questions can be :/ to everyone reading this, i wish you the best of luck in your studies :) - an (almost) burnt out STEM student
When u have tests every week every term: We get a schedule at the beginning of the term telling us which tests we have each week, sometimes we have break between them but that is very rare! We start school on Sunday and end school on Thursday, my fridays are my break days but then I revise again for my tests on Saturday because sometimes I have after schools or homework on week days. I don’t know why I needed to tell anyone this but here u go 👍🏽😃
Lowkey, I would just start studying for a test that might not exist yet. (Good for pop quiz teachers), and having a lot more time to just review your notes for like 10-15 min per class per day is really helpful.
I could relate so much to the first 10 seconds of the video cause yesterday I had such a breakdown that I cried for 2 hours and I was just panicking thinking I'm not be able to make it. I'll come back here in 10 days to comment if I did it or not. Wish me luck guys
@@Trayisme I am happy to inform you that I made it :') if you're going through something similar, keep in mind that there always hope, good luck and good life!
I also recommend the "last second review" aka just doing a total slam through all the smaller details you're afraid you might not remember on the test in passing time before the test or if you have a bit of free time in the class before the test
So I've never actually studied because it always felt like such a chore and I didn't really know how. Now I'm going into 11th grade, so I've decided I wanna try it before I get to college. This video has some really helpful sounding tips, so I'll be sure to try em this year.
This is the first time I see you and now I just want to be friends. Thank you so much for the effort and time into making this video that might save so many other students like myself.
I’ve never studied once or ever really did homework, and now I’m throwing up at the fact that I have exams in less than a year that depict my whole life and my dream job (( of wich I need REALLY good grades for )) I read the summary someone did of this video and what I was able to catch of the video it’s self, this was really helpful! So thank you and I hope you do more stuff like this!
On my last chemistry test I began studying the night before the test. When I saw the test, it was super easy. But than I discussed some answers with the topper student and turned out she found the test really hard, I didn't expect that. All students were upset because of the hard test but me. When the results came, only me and one other student got A.
THAT FEELING WAS PROBABLY SO POWERFUL MAN I LOVE WHEN THAT HAPPENS TO ME LIKE I FEEL LIKE IM SMARTER THAN ANYONE ESPECIALLY THAN THISE COCKY STRAIGHT A STUDENTS
Same!!! I never felt so happy about getting a good grade. I was once a bad student and from the lowest section of our school, I got bored and decided to study hard. I went from bottom to the top 1st in our class! (Which is not that hard to achieve since I was in the lowest section at that time ;w;). Today, I’m competing with smarter students. Wish me luck 🥲
i think what i need is actually motivation to study, cuz as a student who does tests literally ever single day, is so much pressue that i just study "correctly" for idk, a week maybe, and after that i just feel so empty and worn out wich makes me decide to memorize all of important a few hours before just to pass, but not to learn. soo resuming, i'll just forget that i have some sanity issues and watch motivating videos !! thanks if u read this far hope u good
I'm starting highschool, and my plan is to study a lot over the summer. I've missed over half of middle school (covid directly followed by mental health issues) and really want high school to be a fresh start for me. Videos like this really help ❤
I want to say thank you so so so much, I'm in high school and really struggeling with studying because we are overloaded with tests and homework. And these ways have helped me greatly
I remember the time I used to cry while studying the same topic for hours just to remember every single word. Now that I realize I don't need that. So now I try to just give myself example while studying the topic it doesn't need all the time
I just watched this tho I think this will be very effective! I've never actually studied for any test but I always pass so I try not to study but I'm failing math too MUCH! so of course I tend to study math these days I have a long test soon so just watching this keeps me more motivated.
I have a year until high school and last year (7th grade), I failed literally every single one of my classes because I slacked off on studying, homework, etc.. but this year I'm really trying my best to get better grades
I'm in my 5th year of uni studying biology and these tips are super helpful! Some stuff I've learned as someone who used to be on academic probation and now has a 3.6 gpa: - never skip class, you won't just learn it later - find a note taking method that works for you (I used to hand write my notes because you retain info better, but I would get so exhausted by the end of class, I'd never even finish my notes) - if you have ADHD, you're not broken or stupid (if you have a diagnosis, use your school's accessibility accommodations, learn how to advocate for yourself, you have to work harder than everyone else it's okay to need extensions and extra time) - first and second year of uni are way harder than third and fourth year (schools make more money off first year students and the courses are designed for you to fail) - it's okay to take 5 or even 6 years to graduate (it's normal and doesn't make you a failure)
Whoever has tests coming up, listen to this girls advice!! I had exams months in-advance and I managed to pass all of them simply by following her tips to study more effectively ☺️
yes im a study and productivity nerd. ive just been slacking off recently. this video helped a lot. now i gotta go prepare for my history test on monday. Yay!!
i am here after 4 months,i searched for this video very hard on my history and finally found it,i just wanna thank you for suggesting me to do study with me videos, really it boosted my productivity and helped me alot to go through my syllabus, thnx alot bro
If there is a subject I don't understand what I like to do is create a 'lesson plan' as if I was going to teach this subject to somebody else. I find you end up breaking it down and simplifying the topic which leads to you yourself actually grasping it better
People don't understand what I mean by the fact that I study. It's not about cramming for five hours the day before the test, it's about studying every single day for a short period of time and simply reviewing that the day before the test. Thanks for the advice!
thank you for this!!! im a freshman this year and i wanted to get my head in the game this year so that it would look good for colleges and universities. i’ve always had good grades but i never studied. so i was thinking if i have relatively good grades without studying then, imagine what i can do with studying so thank you i didnt even know how to go about it and was about to give but you helped thanks!! now i gotta cram everything for this test tmr 🤤😭😭
Me who is in my last year of college and only has studio classes and will never take another exam: hmmm interesting Also, while you mark this as a video for high schoolers, I feel like college students will need it more! Studying in college was just much more overwhelming for me personally. Testing myself was always what helped me best. In fact, it was the only way I studied.
it's so cool seeing a video like this with my actual study method 😂 nothing else ever worked for me, like note taking or studying forever. so im happy i was taking advantage of this method when i was in 7th grade because it brought my grades from an A- to all A+ 😊 im not quite sure how im doing so well because i never pay attention in class either (nobody "like me" in school does, but we all have amazing grades 😭😂)
0:34 lmao i was so confused when you said it was unachievable to start studying 7 days before a test, my school gives us the syllabus a month in advance for our biggest test & we are expected to start studying even earlier than that. your video was very helpful though since i really don't want to spend that much time studying!
As a 7th grader who just got a B on a science test despite spending 4 hours on studying, this is amazing. Work smarter, not harder makes so much more sense.
Thanks! I wish this video was here when I was in school. I will apply these tips to my college years. (I’m going for nursing, and I’m not the greatest student or the fastest learner.)

Yeah works well if u have good memory retention
For me solving sample papers or giving mock tests is just the best..and I've realized it...my grades went so high by just introducing sample papers after completing the chapters..and it's just so amusing..so just do it
Omg sameee
same! I find chemistry worksheets online that are specific to what we're studying and doing those practice problems help a lot!
Pro Chem tip from a high school grad who took three years of chem and never got less than an A:
- organicchemistrytutor and Professor Dave explains on TH-cam are really good at explaining chemistry concepts and problems (Dave is more conceptual and chem tutor is more problem solving oriented)
-Usually the best study strat for this subject is to just work on a lot of practice problems.
This helps a lot! I look forward to your videos every week! Thanks Annie!
literally same I feel so productive after them
This was literally me this year. I was struggling so much with chemistry and would just look over notes like the night before. But throughout the year Recopied my notes in an easier way for me to remember and studied like two nights before helped so much 😭
The thing that helps me the most in getting good grades is that I’m great at concentrating on things I feel like will be needed so I concentrate a lot in class and everything the teacher says just somehow gets imprinted in my mind and when I’m about to study for my test I read without revising at least 7days before the exam and the day before the exam (means the exam is next day) that’s when I study and revise
this tips feel so realistic and easier for a highschool student than a 5-hour study session, ill def try those
thanks for the video! hope i get good grades on my next test
Love the advice keep up the good work!!
summaryif you can't watch the whole video :if u cant watch it all :D
-study wide not deep (all the units in a lil depth not a couple in a lot of detail)
-mock tests (untimed to start, timed later)
-active retrieval
- focus on weak points
-get a q wrong? rerevise and try easier questions
-ask for help if ur confused!
-sleep well!
Ill be studying six weeks ahead 2 hrs every weekday (except for fridays) and five hours on the weekend, I'm starting tmrw, wish me luck!!
thank you for this !! i just started my senior year about a month ago, so am definitely going to implement these into my study routine in preparation for my exams next week ~ i also study chemistry so know how difficult those wordy questions can be :/
to everyone reading this, i wish you the best of luck in your studies :)
- an (almost) burnt out STEM student
She just means how to use your hard work smartly on the places it's needed. ✨️🦋
When u have tests every week every term:
We get a schedule at the beginning of the term telling us which tests we have each week, sometimes we have break between them but that is very rare!
These are actually really good tips people! I've started realising this after years of struggling to study properly.
I could relate so much to the first 10 seconds of the video cause yesterday I had such a breakdown that I cried for 2 hours and I was just panicking thinking I'm not be able to make it. I'll come back here in 10 days to comment if I did it or not. Wish me luck guys
It's been 1month what's the info
@@Trayisme I am happy to inform you that I made it :') if you're going through something similar, keep in mind that there always hope, good luck and good life!
@@LoveandStargirl well thanks have a good day
I also recommend the "last second review" aka just doing a total slam through all the smaller details you're afraid you might not remember on the test in passing time before the test or if you have a bit of free time in the class before the test
Idk why u would do that to urself 😭😭
Same😭 were fucked up but okay. if i dont get get good grades i cant go to class that i want in next year
bro thats acc me LOL, except im probably younger.
5:23 ma'am that is exactly how i have been acing my exams💀💀 but a downside i forget 70% of the things concepts after the exam 😭😭
@@choikamin8000 best of luck 🍀
@@parinigam8498 thank you 😊
@@isidoramaletic4430 ngl most straight a students are super chill nd easy to get along with
i think what i need is actually motivation to study, cuz as a student who does tests literally ever single day, is so much pressue that i just study "correctly" for idk, a week maybe, and after that i just feel so empty and worn out wich makes me decide to memorize all of important a few hours before just to pass, but not to learn. soo resuming, i'll just forget that i have some sanity issues and watch motivating videos !! thanks if u read this far hope u good
thank you so much for these tips!!! i always have trouble when studying and this will def work!!
I'm starting highschool, and my plan is to study a lot over the summer. I've missed over half of middle school (covid directly followed by mental health issues) and really want high school to be a fresh start for me. Videos like this really help ❤
Okay but this video was literally what I needed right now because I have an exam coming up and I want to try out a new study plan
I want to say thank you so so so much, I'm in high school and really struggeling with studying because we are overloaded with tests and homework. And these ways have helped me greatly
omg I really needed this rn
I remember the time I used to cry while studying the same topic for hours just to remember every single word. Now that I realize I don't need that. So now I try to just give myself example while studying the topic it doesn't need all the time
Mock test and practice questions are helpful. It helped in conditioning myself for my tests
Could you make a video on how you journal?
i understand it. most of the times other youtubers dont get to the point or have some bizarre ways of studying
Happy Spring break Annie I loved your vlogs and you are sweetheart and you are amazing Supporter I'm proud of you
I'm in my 5th year of uni studying biology and these tips are super helpful!
Some stuff I've learned as someone who used to be on academic probation and now has a 3.6 gpa:
- never skip class, you won't just learn it later
- find a note taking method that works for you (I used to hand write my notes because you retain info better, but I would get so exhausted by the end of class, I'd never even finish my notes)
- if you have ADHD, you're not broken or stupid (if you have a diagnosis, use your school's accessibility accommodations, learn how to advocate for yourself, you have to work harder than everyone else it's okay to need extensions and extra time)
- first and second year of uni are way harder than third and fourth year (schools make more money off first year students and the courses are designed for you to fail)
- it's okay to take 5 or even 6 years to graduate (it's normal and doesn't make you a failure)
ahh the time of the week where I feel like I’m the most knowledgeable person in the world thanks to annie 🌝
thank you so much :) i'm discovering this video the night before my grade 11 chemistry exam tomorrow and i'm currently studying and reviewing!
Yay!!
love this sm annie!! this was actually really helpful and motivating :))
i am here after 4 months,i searched for this video very hard on my history and finally found it,i just wanna thank you for suggesting me to do study with me videos, really it boosted my productivity and helped me alot to go through my syllabus, thnx alot bro
thank you for all you do
thanks for the positivity to keep going
If there is a subject I don't understand what I like to do is create a 'lesson plan' as if I was going to teach this subject to somebody else. I find you end up breaking it down and simplifying the topic which leads to you yourself actually grasping it better
My exams are going on so this'll be really helpful, thanks! Love ya loads..😊💗✨
Me who is in my last year of college and only has studio classes and will never take another exam: hmmm interesting
Also, while you mark this as a video for high schoolers, I feel like college students will need it more! Studying in college was just much more overwhelming for me personally. Testing myself was always what helped me best. In fact, it was the only way I studied.
I LITERALLY HAVE EXAMS IN 2 WEEKS- THIS IS SO PERFECT THANK YOUUUU- 😭❤️
so happy you posted!
i just started first year of highschool, I will definitely be keeping this in mind thank you.
I have my first unit test in about 15 days so this is really helping !!!
it's so cool seeing a video like this with my actual study method 😂
nothing else ever worked for me, like note taking or studying forever. so im happy i was taking advantage of this method when i was in 7th grade because it brought my grades from an A- to all A+ 😊
im not quite sure how im doing so well because i never pay attention in class either (nobody "like me" in school does, but we all have amazing grades 😭😂)
Thank you for this 🥰 I really needed these tips 💕
Decided on this random video to watch but wow this channel is so inspiring and well produced.
need more in my life while I start college!
Your vibes are so enjoyable and fun!!!
omg I have 7 days to cover up my whole syllabus. This video is very helpful. Thank you.
i would like to have the 7 day study session for test, but sometimes my chem teach would announce we would have test 3 days before!
I’m a 10th grade and I got a C on a biology test I studied 2 weeks for 😭
@@adeleisnamedafterme Oh god 😭I hope you do get the grades you deserve soon, that must be so frustrating.
youtube recommended this to me on my first day of high school, a very lovely coincidence at its finest
THANK YOU SO MUCH. THIS ADVICE IS SO COOL. WILL TRY IT! 💗
Thanks! I wish this video was here when I was in school. I will apply these tips to my college years. (I’m going for nursing, and I’m not the greatest student or the fastest learner.)
Thank you for sharing your tips on studying with us!!!

Tysm i had a tutor helping me but she was always on tiktok and didn’t really help me so this got my grade in chemistry from a C to a B+ tysmm❤
I really needed this 😭❤️❤️
I went from B- to an A- in Spanish class in a VERY sketchy way so I’m going to be trying these
THIS CAME AT THE PERFECT TIME!! 😭🤍
ik omg 🤭
