Reminds me of a typical Scottish summer under my catamaran deck tent! I made the prototype out of a tarp. A torrentially wet, windless day at Port Ellen pontoon, Islay was one to cherish. So relaxing to sit dry in my camping chair with an 18y/o Lagavulin malt in my hand and not a care in the world. 😊

Normally you'd simply drape a tarp from the boom to each side to form a shelter. I couldn't do that because my hull tops have domes for headroom in the middle. I made a frame using 4 heavy guage foldable tent poles. I anchored these into recesses in the bridge deck to form an arch from front to back. 8ft strips of webbing were fixed at rt angles across, linking the 4 poles. One for each section (12 in all). The arch was held up with a couple of guy ropes on each side. This made a really rigid frame, 8ft wide x 10ft front to back and 6ft headroom. I simply draped a heavy duty tarp over the frame and secured it to the deck with bungee hooks. To make room for the tent, the boom is fixed to a slider on the mast. It can be hoisted up out of the way! Worked great apart from very high winds.... and only when tied to a dock! 😃

Ah, the sweet calming sounds of rain. Real rain sound and not a recording of a couple of minutes repeated over & over which is annoying. This is how rainfall truly sounds in all of it's healing effect. I suffer from insomnia but, after listening to this video for 3 to 4 mins, I begin to drift away & before I realize, I'm out like a light. Thank you! ☝🙏🏼

I like listening to these videos and adjusting the volume. There's an interesting effect if you listen closely. When the volume is low, it sounds like you are inside a shelter and the rain is outside, but when the volume is high, it sounds like you are outside in the rain. Adjusting it back and forth sounds like you are going inside and coming back outside.
I'm listening to this on my headphones while reading as it drowns out my husband chittering away to me while he plays the playstation. This way I can actually concentrate!
If that happened it was not my fault. There should be no ads during any of my videos, only before or after. Sometimes TH-cam messes up and sticks on in there anyway. It should not happen often.
