The Saito 65 is a beautiful engine, and I am lucky to have one. I run all my engines, both 2 and 4, stroke on 5% nitro without any problems. All you need is enough to help the idle. The less you use, the longer the engine will last because it is quite corrosive. It has also become very expensive, and the higher the nitro level, the less actual fuel you get. Looks after these beauties as spares are becoming more difficult to source. 👍

Excellent powerplant ya got there!! 🤙🏼 I’m starting a project using a heli motor on a monster truck soon. Haven’t had gas/nitro anything in many years!! Just getting back into it. Love the looks of that motor!! Hell of a runner!!🫡

These 4 stroke engines actually start much easier if you flip the prop backwards. The OS engines actually instruct you to flip the prop backwards in the manual. The valvetrain will not allow it to run backwards and the recoil from firing will snap the prop quickly back the other direction.

well, at least you use a stick. starters are silly.
as pointed out... flip them backwards. prime, turn back to compression, then a light flick and they should start straight up...
love saitos, but also hate saitos. that cam spur gear sound drives me nuts but its ok when theyre flying...
OS runs a helical, much quieter.

Is the fuel regular gas with 15% oil or is it nitro ?

      That is an excellent question.
These engines are a 4 stroke motor. Built to perfection.
      This run is on
Morgan’s Cool Power Fully synthetic model engine fuel. 15 percent oil.
the rest synthetics castor and nitromethane
      Thanks for asking 👊😎
