This is a video of 2 litters. The blue merle with the most copper on his legs and the black tri are Becca’s litter. The other blue Merle is younger and he’s a Rodeo puppy.
This video is a great example of the age/maturity difference.
While they look quite similar, there is almost a month age difference.
The Becca puppy has a lot more energy and is much more agile at the moment. But the truth is, the rodeo puppy will have more drive as an adult dog, be more active and athletic than the Becca puppy.
Videos are meant to show that the puppies are happy, social and healthy. It shouldn’t be used as your main tool to tell personality. The 3 minute video is such a small part of their life and merely shows the moment I captured.
Sometimes the puppy that is the Tasmanian devil may be sitting in the corner resting while I video. While the more laid back puppy is going crazy with a toy.
Always ask your breeder for their insight and let them know what you are looking for. If a breeder truly knows their dogs, they’ll be able to help you pick the best fit.

Also remember the old saying "A puppy will grow into its paws". Thus the size of a paw is a good way to guess the size the puppy will be when full grown.

Full size Australian Shepherds tend to be about 50 pounds. I have only owned full size Australian Shepherds so that is all I can report on:
