I’m mainly a card maker but enjoy a lot of the junk journal techniques. One of the card makers I follow has a “magic mug” on her desk where she tosses in scraps of paper and trims, and things like when you die cut four of something but decide to use only three on your card, or get out a handful of fasteners and have a couple left over etc. She says she checks the mug first when she needs some finishing touch on anything she is making, and periodically dumps out the mug and challenges herself to just use the stuff in it to make some cards. I’ve adopted this approach and I think this video is inspiring me to do a “magic mug dump” challenge to myself today!
Love this quick and easy idea! I love using tape like that...such an easy addition to the page. That blue paper and the bird collage....oh my....that's totally my aesthetic! Thanks for sharing this quick project, Kathleen!
So quick and easy - and YET... two more GREAT ideas! The tape idea is so good, I can't wait to try it and the fold over notepad from one piece of paper! Kathleen - I can't wait to try these ideas! I love that bird collage - it's so sweet. XO
Beautiful as always Kathleen. I might just make myself a few of these to go in my "Ready Made" bin of ephemera. I ended up doing 3 videos: 1-Stamps, 2 - Tags & Journal cards with pockets, 3 - Mini Journal from Chocolate Bar Box. All have the "-What's On My Desk" at the end of the title. ☺♥
What a fun challenge. Love the little flip-flop journal cards you made. Such a great idea for those off cuts. But that tape trick is terrific. I've done the one with packing tape and then soaking it in water to remove the paper and leave the type or picture behind, but I really love the simplicity of your tape and the effect of the way it looks on those folds in your project. Perfect solution for the thinness of the paper and decorative, too. I'm definitely going to make some of this tape as well as a z-fold card, too. Thanks for the wonderful ideas. Have a great week. Love the color of your sweater today and it compliments your projects.
You always seem to be able to come up with simple, practical, and still beautiful ideas. You're amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing your ideas with us. ❤
Great use of your desk items. I’ve always used my drafters masking tape to take words off the page and saved it for washi emergency. And the book page is wonderful to journal on. We are so like minded.
Well done!! And thanks for the little project and tape ideas - I might create these with my new crafting friend (previously known as my walking friend haha)!
The trick with the tape reminds me of something I did a long time ago as a child. We used waxed paper to pick up and transfer text or designs in a similar way. Might have to try that again. The filed project is cute but I only have letter sized paper so will need to adjust dimensions. TFS 😻
What a neat idea! I love the distressed look, and the blue one is so pretty ❤ I have a pile of junk mail envelopes and may cut a couple down and see if that works. I need to use up those envelopes lol
I love this little flip book! Super cute & I can’t wait to try the tape technique. You always have such great, fun ideas. Do you remember where the clear stickers are from? I love them!!!
