I've just bought this car, with the same 2.0 JTDM 170hp engine. It's beautiful but has astonishing turbo lag. I can put my foot to the floor in 2nd gear at 30mph (30kph) and count to around 4 seconds until the boost kicks in, then it literally flies away. The car has no warning lights or known faults, has had the EGR and DPF removed and mapped out. I cleaned the MAP and MAF sensors. Are they all like this?

I've had a 1.9 jtdm 159 and now I own a 2.0 175Hp Giulietta and none of the two has that much turbo lag. Just the normal lag for a turbo diesel ✌🏻

I had a 159 1.9 jtdm with 150hp, bougth it probably remapped, and the turbo lag was very low compared to my GT 1.9 jtd. The turbo kicked at around 1600-1700rpm and the car accelerated very nicely.

Sounds like turbo vanes problems (aka VNT vacuum controller) or perhaps swirlflaps?

If you remove the traction controls it goes better
