BST is about the loss of innocence, the fall into temptation. That’s actually the simplest way to explain it. If you look online there are endless theories but I consider this one the best. It fits the concept of youth that BTS always brings to their songs
"I don't know how old it is... Oh, it is old. Three years ago." Damn, it's already 3 years. Time flies super fast. So far this is going to be my favourite reaction video ever

This song is what catapulted BTS onto the world stage, making western artists sit up and take serious notice. This is one of their most artistic and cerebral pieces, and puzzles everyone on first viewing. But it's a masterpiece, and figuring out all the little symbols is part of the fun of this music video. I vote yes on the dance practice, there is a lot that isn't shown in the music video. This music video (Blood, Sweat, and Tears) has a LOT of symbolism which the others have already addressed. Plenty of biblical references, too, like The Last Supper, the apple of knowledge/temptation (repeated image in many BTS MVs), and the black and white doors/statues representing good and evil. The painting Jin is looking at in the beginning is called The Fall of the Rebel Angels. It's out of Revelations, a depiction of the archangel Michael and the rest of the angelic host driving Lucifer and those angels that fought on his side out of heaven. The painting V is sitting in front of on the balcony is called Landscape With the Fall of Icarus, representing the Greek mythological story of Icarus (repeated reference in many BTS MVs), whose father was Daedalus, a famed inventor. In order to escape from Minos, the island where they'd been kept prisoner by the king to create the labyrinth for the minotaur, Daedalus created wings made of wax. Icarus, in his joy at the freedom and wonder of flight, ignored his father's warnings and flew too close to the sun, causing the wax to melt, and he fell to the sea, and his death. The statue J-Hope was dancing in front of was a representation of the Pieta, which is Mary holding the body of Jesus after his crucifixion. ::above are facts, below are some theories (theories, mind you, none of this is confirmed fact):: - V - fallen angel/the devil/the tempter/Demian (because this MV takes lines and a lot of inspiration from the book Demian ((repeated reference in many BTS MVs)), by Hermann Hesse) - Jungkook - Icarus/child (hence why he's on that swing, constantly looking like he's falling, feather decals on the arms of his jacket, with feathers falling all around him - you can also see JK and RM close in the beginning, with RM reading a book to JK, like a father to his son) - RM - Daedalus (drinking the green liquid ((absinthe)) and letting himself drown in substances to retreat from the depression of losing his son and unintentionally being the cause of his death - also why the picture of the bird with outstretched wings ((repeated image in many MVs)) goes up in flames) - Jin - innocent man/Emil (also from the book Demian - he is the one being tempted by sin, and ends up giving in to temptation, sealing the deal ((with the devil - V)) with a kiss ((with the statue of the angel - V))) - J-Hope (my personal theory) - cherub (not the soft and squishy cherub babies everyone typically thinks of, but the angels who encourage people to turn away from sin and grow closer to God - hence the bow and arrows aimed at V and the dancing in front of the Pieta as a reminder of the sacrifice made for mankind's sins - also why he looked so defeated sitting on the fountain after the kiss scene) - Suga and Jimin - tbh, not sure, don't recall any theories off the top of my head, other than possible representations of see no evil, speak no evil, and hear no evil, (repeated reference in many BTS MVs - Fake Love, and the giant white hand sculpture they were dancing silhouetted in front of - look close, they are see/hear/speak no evil - the choreography has a lot of them putting their hands over their mouths, eyes, and ears) but also possible representations of sins, vice, and loss of innocence

This whole album "Wings" is one of the best. It is based on the novel "Demian" by Hermann Hesse. V in this mv resembles a fallen angel, or devil, or Icarus, a Roman myth character that reappears in Bts' storyline. Jin represents the loss of innocence or growing up in this mv.

the explanation of these songs comes with the explanation of the album wings because it is part of so you should first look at everything and then the explanation. Anyway, you can find the album exploration on youtube and it's called "BTS Wings was symbolism, explained: Blood, Sweat, Tears & Demian"
Flo: "I NEED answers, I need answers right now, I need answers and I need answers. Also, I need some answers. Please " That was the best!!! PS NO ONE was ready for this era and this video....
Hi from Paris. The German sentence comes out of a book by Herman Hesse - Daïmon - a book that inspired their album “WINGS”, the subject being the battle between the angel and the evil inside any human being. You could see that the man lost his wings once he kissed the devil with his black wings. But indeed he needs to meet chaos before giving birth to his true self.
The storyline for the video is based on the literary novel Damien and the story of a fallen dark angel. The boys loosely represent the 7 deadly sins and coming of age faced with temptations. There is a whole storyline for this mv. They often reference literature in their songs. Originally Jin was to kiss Tae (who is a fallen angel) but they decided on a more pc option of the angel statue. It really is a piece of art. RM is such a talented writer. The coolest was when this originally came out the boys had not really presented themselves in such a mature way and it blew everyone away. This was the year they won their first Daesang (like an AMA) and overcame all the criticism and hate they dealt with by being from a small record company (The year they took down the Big 3). It was the beginning of their rise!
Why have I only seen the video now? Well, it's been a while, but it's still a great reaction. Once you've heard BTS, you can never get away again. This is by far my favourite BTS video. Full of symbols, something between good and evil. V as a fallen angel. I just love this music video.
This is one of my most favourite mv. There are so many details and hidden messages, that you need to check many explanations to find them all x'D The video is about youth/boys growing up, falling into temptation and losing their innocence. Overall is a mix based on the Bangtan fictional storyline universe and the book Demian, a novel that explores the psyche of the narrator Sinclair (protagonist) as he grows up and loses his light (innocence). There are also a lot of mythological/Biblical references but I will try to mention only a few of them so my message wont be huge. The video opens with everyone walking into the museum together, but everyone is paired up: J-Hope with V, Suga with Jimin, Rapmon with Jungkook (a young member with an older member) except Jin who is the oldest. Jin looks at the painting, titled The Fall of the Rebel Angels by Pieter Bruegel. We know that the angels of heaven fell because of direct rebellion against God by siding with Lucifer, who corrupted the angels by sinful temptations. Next to the painting you can see a white door and a black door. That is the main message of the music video. Another example is when they are dancing ,behind them there is a dark devil statue under the white border and a white angelic statue under a dark border (there is always good into evil and evil into good). In his journey, Sinclair is learning that both light world and dark world is equal and coexist. RM is drinking Absinthe/Green fairy. It's a hallucinogenic alcohol and it was very popular among artists in old times. He gives a drop of the tempting alchohol to JK and we later see him in a static potition with feathers around him. Behind him is the painting of 'The lament for Icarus' . Icarus was trapped on a greek island with his father Daedalus who made wings out of feathers and wax for them to escape. His father warned Icarus not to fly too low so the humidity from the sea would not ruin the wings and also asked him not to fly too high so the sun would melt the wax that kept his wings together. Icarus ignored his father's warnings and flew too close to the sun. The wax melted his wings off and Icarus fell to the sea and died. Just like Daedalus gave to his son the temptation to fly, RM gave to JK the drink. Later we can see both JK and RM in a room filled with the green smoke. This green smoke reached Suga's room too thats why in some scenes you can see a green smoke inside his room (Green smoke= Absinthe). We can also find an another hint for Icarus & Daedalus story, the painting that V fall. The painting of Landscape with the Fall of Icarus shows a spectacular scenery of the sea, but you can see that there are a pair of legs struggling in the sea on the bottom righthand corner. That’s supposed to be Icarus after he falls. So we have this reoccurring motif of Icarus. The intersting thing is that V ,while sitting on the ledge of a balcony, looks back at us, cracks a mischievous grin, and jumps willingly. The statue behind Jhope is Michelangelo’s Pieta, which shows the Virgin Mary holding the dead body of Jesus Christ following his crucifixion and removal from the cross. In the Wings album (the whole album is based on Demian) J-Hope’s solo song is titled “Mama” and is about his mom but there are also ties to Demian with correlations to the character of Frau Eva, Demian’s mother in the novel (also Jhope's wings short movie has the symbol Eva). There are many more details. If you are interest you could check a explanation video :D I love how the mix so many things in one video.
I loved your explanation. I already knew some of the things you pointed, but it's just so well put together. Thanks a lot 💜 I wish Flo would read your comment.
@@baudolino2727 ah thank u so much , I hope he see it. I was so amazed when I found out the meaning of this video, that I want to everyone to know it xD After reading Demian, it was a lot easier to understand it xD
Das ist mir beim ersten Mal auch nur aufgefallen weil ein englischer TH-camr genau an der Stelle pausiert hat und über iwas geredet hat und ich so "Ohhhh, das ist ja deutsch...und Nietzsche"^^
I never knew what it said above the mirror! But now that you translate it I recognize it as a quote from Nietzsche. You must still have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star. I've heard RM say that before.
Als ich damals gerafft habe, dass das Deutsch an der Wand ist hab ich mich so gefreut das glaubst du mir garnicht😂😂😂😂 in dem “DOPE” MV ist übrigens auch etwas deutsches an der Wand!
My understanding of this quote is that creation or the impulse to create comes out of chaos. It’s the desire to make some kind of sense out of chaos that leads to creativity. 🤷🏾♀️💜
I recently discovered your channel and have been binge watching your BTS reactions. 💜 I have never seen or read the translation on the wall...something I totally missed out on all these years 😂 I look forward to more reactions from you!
this song the album of this song, wings, it's all about the transitional phase between the innocent youth to adulthood. when bts released this song it surprised everyone because it was the first mv where they all looked mature sophisticated and very sexy when they had previously a more juvenile youthful boyish style and music. I still remember some kpop fans not liking it which is so funny to me nowadays it's already such a loved classic for everyone in general.
Deine Reaktion nach dem Kuss war soo relatable😂😂 Ich kann nicht mehr🤣 Ich freue mich jedes Mal so unnormal wenn du ne neue BTS reaction hochgeladen hast🙉
You are the first person ever to explain what was written on the wall. How absolutely beautiful that is. I've never heard the German language sound so precious.
Omg you did Blood Sweat and Tears!!!! The whole album this belongs to, especially this MV, was based on Herman Hesse's book Demian. It's about giving in to temptation which culminated in the scene where Jin kisses the statue (since they can't show Jin and Tae kissing) and signifies loss of innocence. This is actually part of the BTS Universe storyline and if you want to learn more about it, you have to watch the videos in order: I Need You 19+ Onstage: Prologue Run I Need You - Japanese ver Run - Japanese ver Young Forever Wings short films 1-7 Blood Sweat and Tears Blood Sweat and Tears - Japanese ver Love Yourself highlight reels 1-4 Euphoria Fake Love Epiphany And to summarize read the Save Me webtoon. 💜💜💜💜💜💜 (be careful of the Japanese vids, they sometimes give copyright strikes)

Flo, your reactions make me smile! I'm a middle aged American who discovered K-pop about 4 years ago and I really enjoy most of it. The level of talent blows my mind! I get pumped up like you do, Flo, and my family just doesn't get it. They don't appreciate the high quality of work that goes into most kpop MVs. Keep up the good work on your channel!
The main theme of this mv was temptation written in neon lights in the purple room in the beginning. This era was taking inspiration from a German Poet called Hermann Hesse and a book called Damien. The book was first published in 1919 revised with a prologue in 1960. The plot is a young mans struggles in youth. Choosing between good and bad, Faith and sin, internal fights against temptation. He mentions of joining the German military. It was believed it might have been a biography of Hesse but was not proven because at the time he was going by an alias. It's honestly a beautiful book. I highly recommend.
I think. You need to watch it really based on their Chronological order. Including the concept trailers, teasers, even the live performance at the MAMA and other Awards so you can follow the whole storyline.
I hope you could watch their Spring Day MV and the explanation to it. Its such a special song and its dedicated to a certain event. I know you'll love it ❤
"You need to have chaos in yourself to give birth to a dancing star." I know nothing about German, but it sounds perfect to me the way it is. Beautiful.
To explain it in an easy way is that Tae is the fallen angel (or the evil in the other song called Boy Meets Evil), and the wings of the status come from Tae. But this mv includes a lot of mythology and the story is based on Damian from Hesse. thanks for ur reaction!! really like ur video!!

You have to watch the dance practice of blood sweat and tears YOU HAAAVE TO
Love u flo! You make me happy ❤️
I never knew what it said above the mirror! But now that you translate it I recognize it as a quote from Nietzsche. You must still have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star. I've heard RM say that before.
This is the Best reaction of that song for sure. Thanks.
WHY IS THIS DUDE SO RELATABLE OMDS
I know its german, in dope, there is a german sentence too,it is "keine profite mit der miete" it is on a red poster in the back,at 4:36
Als ich damals gerafft habe, dass das Deutsch an der Wand ist hab ich mich so gefreut das glaubst du mir garnicht😂😂😂😂 in dem “DOPE” MV ist übrigens auch etwas deutsches an der Wand!
My understanding of this quote is that creation or the impulse to create comes out of chaos. It’s the desire to make some kind of sense out of chaos that leads to creativity. 🤷🏾♀️💜
I recently discovered your channel and have been binge watching your BTS reactions. 💜
I have never seen or read the translation on the wall...something I totally missed out on all these years 😂
I look forward to more reactions from you!
this song the album of this song, wings, it's all about the transitional phase between the innocent youth to adulthood. when bts released this song it surprised everyone because it was the first mv where they all looked mature sophisticated and very sexy when they had previously a more juvenile youthful boyish style and music. I still remember some kpop fans not liking it which is so funny to me nowadays it's already such a loved classic for everyone in general.
It means that if you want knowledge, you will have to accept the good and evil. You have to forsake your innocence and purity to really become wise.
This song is pure art
If it was released now it would blow out. Also this was the song that made BTS more popular
Deine Reaktion nach dem Kuss war soo relatable😂😂 Ich kann nicht mehr🤣
Ich freue mich jedes Mal so unnormal wenn du ne neue BTS reaction hochgeladen hast🙉
This is actually part of the BTS Universe storyline and if you want to learn more about it, you have to watch the videos in order:

Flo, your reactions make me smile! I'm a middle aged American who discovered K-pop about 4 years ago and I really enjoy most of it. The level of talent blows my mind! I get pumped up like you do, Flo, and my family just doesn't get it. They don't appreciate the high quality of work that goes into most kpop MVs. Keep up the good work on your channel!
Finally omg i requested it for so long and now i am so happy to see you reacting to blood sweat and tear thankyou ❤❤❤
Love your user name😂😂💜
@@worldwidehandsome9397 thankyou 😂😂😂
@@Ruruku no prob😘
The main theme of this mv was temptation written in neon lights in the purple room in the beginning.
This era was taking inspiration from a German Poet called Hermann Hesse and a book called Damien. The book was first published in 1919 revised with a prologue in 1960. The plot is a young mans struggles in youth. Choosing between good and bad, Faith and sin, internal fights against temptation. He mentions of joining the German military. It was believed it might have been a biography of Hesse but was not proven because at the time he was going by an alias.
It's honestly a beautiful book. I highly recommend.
Its my first time seeing a man blushing in my life.. and yea.. i like it. Hey you nice keep going.
You react for bts i will there become ur subcriber

Now u have to watch the wings short films they are 7 every member have oneee
Really enjoying his reaction 😂😂😂 please do more
😍😍😍thanks for your reactions
When the suspense music started I knew Jin's time was coming 😹❤️❤️
I think. You need to watch it really based on their Chronological order. Including the concept trailers, teasers, even the live performance at the MAMA and other Awards so you can follow the whole storyline.
React to Bts high notes and falsettos pls 💜
I hope you could watch their Spring Day MV and the explanation to it. Its such a special song and its dedicated to a certain event. I know you'll love it ❤
ich freu mich immer auf deine BTS Reaction ..... Yuhu
"You need to have chaos in yourself to give birth to a dancing star."
I know nothing about German, but it sounds perfect to me the way it is.
Beautiful.
I haven't seen the video yet but BS&T is one of my favourite MVs!! Can't wait to see your jaw drop 😁
I wanna mention that all this mv and song is related to a book called Demian by a german author Hermann Hesse
Omg I have been waiting for this 😭😍😭😍😭
To explain it in an easy way is that Tae is the fallen angel (or the evil in the other song called Boy Meets Evil), and the wings of the status come from Tae. But this mv includes a lot of mythology and the story is based on Damian from Hesse. thanks for ur reaction!! really like ur video!!
Flo, please react to BTS MAMA 2016 live performance (boy meets evil + blood sweat & tears + fire)...
this song was what made me fall in love with Jimin and bts. everytime he looks at the camera, i feel my soul being exposed.
React to - Jungkook singing acapella. You won't regret it
when flo flinched at jin and the winged statue among the silence 😔💔✊🏽 i felt that
