    Favorite channel = Bryan Sailing. What's it like to have a baseball stadium-sized crowd rooting for your success? I think the 'clean space' comments stem from a mindset of those who NEED to see/feel continual progress to stay motivated on a long project. Pros don't need that motivation.

    You keep impressing me man. You sir are no amateur. I've been a professional mechanic for 19 years and would have you on my team without a doubt. You have the technical insight to get very complicated jobs done and you don't loose yourself in unimportant details. Making things up on the go and improvising to get the job done, without cutting corners. Hats off :-)
    How come you're not a professional mechanic of some sort? You seem to enjoy the work, maybe it's time to think about your career. Sanding is always a good time to think about it :-)

My takeaway is your quote...“What makes the difference between an efficient developer and an inefficient developer isnʻt how fast you do things but is in what you choose what not to do.” Thatʻs a difference-maker. People tend to do everything. Great wisdom. #808

There is a guy on Barefoot Sail and Dive that is doing some fibre glass work/repair that has been using a special tool that removes gel coat and layers of glass in lieu of grinding. He does the big part of the job with this tool then does some light grinding to finish the job. You may want to look at that tool it may help.

    Are you protecting the repair areas to reduce the affects of UV on vinyl ester matrix? A few studies show the damage can be significant even after just 1000 hours or 80+ days. The hardtop cover you built may reduce but not eliminate UV exposure. Will you be gelcoating as you make repairs?

    SURFACE tension occurs on the surface on liquids not solids, idt u will find a difference in sanding same day or different day, any difference woud be immeasurably small

    • @doughatch1030
      @doughatch1030 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep - surface tension is a property of liquids, and the resin is applied as a liquid. A low surface tension of the resin is desired for wettability to the applied substrate. Anything you can do to the surface to improve wettability is good.

    High wheel will block your chart plotter?

      I plan to use a 9" chart plotter that will go where the compass is normally mounted. The compass will be deck mounted recessed into the cabin top. A second or third chart plotter will mount slightly off to the side on the normal slanted part of the dash. My seat will be on slides so I can sit up closer, or slide it back for standing. That's the plan this week anyway 😉⛵🌎
