Greg has a great memory and he’s humble. Beefer trying to act like he was a bad ass where Greg is honest about how tough he was.
These guys have bad memories. The Rougeaus defeated the Dream Team on August 28th , 1986. I was at the event. It was FREEZING. A big deal was made about what a great "upset" it was that the Rougeaus defeated teh Dream Team.
Hammer is damn near 70 years old, rocking millions and still kicking it. OG Legend.
Gave me the feels to see the WrestleMania 2 VHS cover. I rented the shit out of that tape when I was a kid.
These two are very entertaining together...cant get enough of the dream team shoot interviews...seems to be genuine friendship between these two. Well done

His hair is ready to rock and roll but the rest of him needs some major work. I could listen to him all day though. They're knowledge is phenomenal. I understand the inner working of wrestling and I was a big fan in the 80s.
Brutus looks like the bouncer that never stopped bouncing no matter his age.

Piper also talked about his treatment by Albano in New York. I think it's pretty cool that he showed the world something special in his life and career and his boots are on display in MSG.
To all those making jokes about Hammer and especially Beefcakes physical conditioning, I get it, but walk just one mile in their lives and see how you would wind up. Most of you would be dead by now. Respect to both of them for the entertainment they gave us! I bet at their prime they were in better shape than 90 plus % of all the commentors here. Plus just imagine over the course of literally decades, the hard bumps and countless injuries these two warriors took living on the road 90% of the year. Beefcake was 7% bodyfat in the late 90s with Hogan in the nwo. Put yourself in their shoes and look again. They are happy and still alive, true tough men.
I was beefcakes ‘helper’ when he was at a convention a few years back,such a great funny guy but he’s in a bad way,couldn’t even lift his arms up to change his shirt...so glad he’s still around.

@@gooniemarky Pro wrestling takes a huge toll physically just like pro football and you see the similarities in early deaths because of it.
They weren't exactly nice guys in their prime (plenty of stories), so it's hard to have a ton of sympathy. Especially for "Brother Bruti" who rode Hogan's tail since the Terry Boulder days and blew through millions of dollars. That was a brutal lifestyle, for sure, but at some point you have to grow up. These men haven't. Or at least Brutus hasn't.
These guys gotta be well into their 60s and they took physical beatings for decades to make a buck. The fact that they are still breathing is an accomplishment. Considering what they put their bodies through they look and sound great.
They have great chemistry together.That is when tag teams had to be actual teams

Yes we shot this at Greg’s house, he has a really great spot out in Las Vegas. Couldn’t have been more hospitable during the shoot. Class act all the way. Same with Brutus.

I loved Brutus as a kid. I wish he wouldn't have been injured and could have kept the barber gimmick going longer. As a kid I never realized it was him when he returned disguised under all his new gimmicks.
They ruined him in WCW. Greg was one of the first guys in WWF I used to love to watch back in the late 70s as a little kid. We shared the same name, so I used to run around calling myself "Gregg The Hammer" and trying to do Figure 4s on all my stuffed animals.
NHL, NBA, MLB and nfl have nothing on wrestling pod casts and interviews! The stories are epic!

Dynamite Kid was one of the most vicious heels around in Stampede,British Columbia, Portland and even in the Maritimes. But Dynamite could also wrestle any style if you wanted to wrestle him hold for hold he could do that. If you wanted to brawl throughout a Arena he could accommodate you. His war with Bad News Allen in Calgary was very good. Hell Dynamite beat Kileer Khan for The North American Heavyweight Belt while he was World Mid-Heavyweight Champion. Beefcake couldn’t tie Dynamite’s Boots. Beefcake only held the Tag Titles with Greg Valentine. All Beefcake did was follow Hulk Hogan from Territory to Territory and then from WWF to WCW. Yet he’s in the Hall of Fame and a guy like Dynamite Kid isn’t. SMDH

When you think about it, the WWF had some amazing tag teams in the 80's..I mean there were the Rougeaus, who were always a team (until Jacques returned later), but think of the talent: Barry Windham, Mike Rotunda, Tito Santana, Rick Martel, The Bulldogs..I never cared for the Killer Bees, but they had talent. Valentine is great, Beefcake is just so-so, imo. If the original Demolition with Moondog Rex had lasted, I think he was better than Smash..but Smash was good. Plus the Hart Foundation. The compliment of Neidharts power with Brets ability was awesome.
At that point the Bulldogs were a freight train that no one was going to stop them!!!

Bear Down!! Go bears. Loyal fan. Great story by these 2!! Wrestlemania 2 would have been right after the Bears won Super Bowl 20. The Bears were red hot and successfully over with the public back then. Smart move on McMahon’s part to have one of the shows in Chicago, doing business with the Bears/NFL for more national exposure. The WWF put the Bears over and in turn the Bears/NFL put the WWF over.

Brutus Beefcake says he was tough ? Tougher than the Rougeau ? The truth is Raymond could have take him without any problems, but he was and still is a true gentleman. Jacques sr would have easily knock him out too. Valentine was legitimately tough.
Of the 4 guys Brutus or Jacques was the weakest for sure. Ray was a legit gold glove boxer. Hammer was tough. Brutus seems to like to overvalue his importance. Greg was the leader of the Dream Team.
If you asked Hulk Hogan who would win a shoot between the Rougeau's & Ed Leslie. Hulk would respond "I'd put my money on Jacques over Ed. Raymond would just own Ed's balls."
