The electric valve is the anti-backfire when you shut it off. I have seen lots of problems with them. I clip off the pintle, the pointy part. Then as you install a petcock

I'm just a tard that doesn't fix lawnmowers but the general purpose of a FLOAT NEEDLE is to hold gas in a carb and the funny solenoid thingee called the economiser is to slow fuel down at idle and if I am not mistaken the leaking float needle is going to cause incorrect metering, erratic tuning and likely a rich condition. If I was going to fix lawnmowers those complete carbs used to cost $12 plus shipping before covid like the ones I stock for my generators.
