- ■ RHODES, GREECE: The last time I was this overdue for a visit to a barber you guys called me Phuc Flair. Not wanting to repeat my long luscious blonde locks, I started scouting out barber shops around the Greek island of Rhodes the same day I landed.
There are some truly awesome looking barbershops here but the most professional looking one of them all is: Little John. It doesn't hurt that it's also located right opposite the coolest bar in town either. Getting a haircut there was a no brainer and top of my list of things to do.
The only problem was that every time I walked by he was always busy with tons of customers.
Since this was the perfect location for a haircut video though and I am only interested in making barber videos if it is something new and truly unique, I decided to keep trying.
Weeks went by and not once as I walked by was the place not full. With two days left of my stay I decided to simply barge in whilst someone was already getting a haircut and pitch my video idea.
John, the owner said he'd love to do it so I scheduled an appointment for Thursday night when the bar opposite would have a live band playing.... before I sat down for my cut I decided to pay the bar a little visit..... 🍺💈

I think it's so cool how he found his path to becoming a barber. Beyond the sterotypes and crafted a real gentleman's lounge for grooming, elevating it into something so refined. You can tell he's dedicated to his craft and artform. He's a true professional that carved out a niche for himself to create a thriving business with such artistry and taste. Really impressed by him!

As a Greek, I agree 100% to what Harald said. People in Rhodes are super friendly and more welcoming compared to other places in Greece. Considering that Greek people are generally pretty welcoming, that speaks volumes
the master of one-hour one-takes strikes again! The supporting acts were excellent also, kudos to the awesome barber, the cocktail bar staff & the accompanying band. A truly one-off video

@40:00 it’s so true, the content that Harald makes has been an escape for many of us (since 2020 for me). I feel like I’ve traveled all over the world with him meeting the same interesting people. Harald is like a friend that I’ve never actually met. The content has helped me go through hard times.
I like this drink and haircut chronicle. Also compared to the Vegas haircut which had a similar speakeasy vibe, this was much better. Great barber with a good story.

Right? He’s been doing this for many years probably more than 15 if my memory on of his age is accurate. Before TH-cam was a big thing. Plus I think he even taught during his earlier years. He has definitely accrued massive amounts of knowledge. And it certainly makes his videos that much more entertaining because he can actually tell us about where he is and the history of a place. Context makes things personal, he is 1 of a kind.

The wonderful Greek people of Rhodes. Always hospitable just like the rest of the Greeks, especially in islands. I remember when the people of Rhodes were literally carrying tourists on their back to evacuate them from the terrible wildfires. Heartd of heros.

This barber is absolutely fantastic, one of the best. After working a long day he stayed late, did a perfect fade, his technique is amazing. He knew exactly how to texturize your very straight hair, your hair can be tricky to cut but he killed it. We can see the back, the fade is perfect. He was extremely patient. Barbering is a great job but exhausting, mentally and physically. Harold I really hope you took good care of him, this is not trying to be rude at all but as a barber I can tell you there are a few thing that get very annoying, people moving around, asking me to stop to take a drink 5 or phone call, and making comments about the time. I can’t believe how patient and nice this gentleman was being. You got a $15.00 haircut that we literally charge $50+ for here. Definitely did not mean to come off rude Harold I know you guys work this out before hand but just extra props to this guy for his patience and the bartenders were phenomenal! Also he did a perfect job fading in your beard 💯

I also cut my own hair and have been cutting my own hair for 30 years now. I also do consider you a friend. I have seen every video since about 2018 since i am a full time viewer and fan of yours. i miss rhodos so much, i made the best friends there and i miss them, would love to go back, most people go to mykonos and santorini but id pick rhodos over any place in greece. rhodos in winter is quite nice too.
I have been to Mykonos... although the downtown shopping area where every building is white is amazing the unreal ripp-off hotels and general tiny nature of the town with nothing to do or see once you've been shopping makes me not even consider going back. Rhodos is faaaaaar better
@@HaraldBaldrexactly, i hope youre visiting other parts of the island, theres a town on the other side that is absolutely stunning, cant remember its name tho cause its greek, there even is a huge crucifix monument in the mountain somewhere my friends took me to worth a look.. edit: lindos is the other town, it has a mini acropolis 😍

Geraldo, you missed the "arriba, abajo, al centro y adentro" from the waitress, who either is Spanish or knows Spanish, I know you mentioned that you can't learn Spanish, but you try with "mucho" and others, sometimes mixed with Italian, it's ok, it is entertaining this mix of cultures, and getting drunk while having a haircut.
For some reason my fam enjoyed this one haircut video quite. Terrific and the drinks - delish!

I rarely comment on any videos (despite having watched most of yours over the years), but I just want to show some appreciation for the work that you do and how you are able to show us the world and people that live in it like no one else can! Absolutely fantastic job as always and an awesome place with the fancy barber/bar combo. I know you dont let any comments get to you, but I feel like the people that ask for just sounds during a haircut, are fans of the specific genre of videos that include haircut, massage etc. videos. But there is already an abundance of this specific content and you offer a truly unique experience by letting us indulge in the life of the awesome people from different cultures you meet, which makes for content with deeper meaning (if that makes sense?). And the difference is that I put this video on and everything else down, while I would use others as just some background audio. i have cut hair for almost 18 years of my life (over half) and i thoroughly enjoyed this video, In all these years i have watched barbers lose their passion for what they do however, that is not the case HERE, i could see he put his heart and soul into his haircuts, he has that passion to make sure his cut is up to HIS standards and for that among other things he deserves applause. Where i'm from that is known as a Bald drop shadow Mid fade and he executed it perfectly, the cut Harald usually gets is known as a "high & tight" here. As for the drinks prepared at the bar, those look amazing and very fresh, it's unbelievable how esthetically good they look and in my opinion very affordable for the quality and service. I enjoyed all the way until the end. I have a question 🤔 After drinking so many different cocktails, did you vomit? I had too many kamikaze in Coco Bongo . And I was worse than the exorcist. I fertilized all the palm trees on my way back to the hotel.
Not at all. Had a rough start the next day but within a couple of hours I was fine and went vlogging again
