FINALLLLLLY I have got it! I had a good friend try and show me and I was freakin useless at trying to master the descaling of this beasty! Nowwww I get it. Thank you Tom, Master Of the Beast! I now gets it mannn!
It is important to mention that in some Magnifica S machines, the manual only indicates to do one rinse only, and this is the problem that many people have. My machine was purchased on July 2023.
Hi Tom thank you for your help as the manual is like (useless) for me but I would like to turn the temperature down for my coffee as I find it far too hot and feel like it ruins the taste
So every time yiu rince, do you have to refill the water container? It only uses part of the water that's in a container to do the rinse. My machine switches off and I have to restart it.
Hi, Huge relief to find this vid rather than going thru the manuals once again. One question tho. The amount of water going thru the steam tap is maybe 90% of the total amount. I get very little going thru the “main tap”. Why is that?
Well, most machines let it go through the steam wand...it depends on the manufacturer, but a lot of them just do it that way. Maybe because it's the furthest path for the descaling water to pass through.
Well, the machine decides itself where to output the solution and or rinse, so it might be part of the program. The models also slightly differ over time. Good luck!
Hi Tom, Will you see a big difference in terms of espresso quality and extraction between a Breville Barista Express and a Delonghi Magnifica? Thank you for the excellent videos!
Haha, no coffee crema is a coffee with some crema on top. Espresso is something totally different. A coffee has a 15:1 ratio, extracted at like 3 bar on these machines, while an espresso as a 2:1 ratio, extracted at 8-9 bar. So the difference in taste and texture is immense.@@onimusha13
I have same issue, that's why after the program. I put the water back in. And press the descale button once. So the water comes out front. And repeat that like ten times or so
Is there ever a long pause after only descaling for a very short period (around 40 seconds)? Mine has paused for five minutes. Should I press the descaler button again and start again?
Could you please make a video how to make the best cappuccino with this machine? I have in work this same but it isn’t same when i make coffee with this machine and with dedica ec685.
Funnily enough, I did make a video about this. But the quality is not great. Of course you will never match the quality of the Dedica with this machine.
Hi Tom, I have this machine, and Im getting different levels of espresso when I press the espresso button..The first pull seems to follow the level I have pre-set, and anything following would pull a lot more. Which part can I replace to get the levels the same on every pull? TIA
Well it has a water wheel inside, which is not super accurate. But if it's way off, then maybe that part is failing. I would just stop it manually though, if it was mine...
Hello I found your vids searching for a solution on line I just got a delonghi magnifica evo I have everything setup it runs fine but the pucks are getting stuck in the infuser and not falling in to the puck tray I'm not sure what to do. no one seems to be having this problem. I suspect the infuser isn't pushing the puck up all the way so the arm can't flick it all off. Do you know what it could be?
Hi there! I have not ever run into that problem, and we’ve used this machine at work every day, for years. I would remove that cartridge and clean it, inspect it for any obvious issues like a broken spring or something. It sounds like the mechanism to push the puck away may be defective.
@@TomsCoffeeCorner I was thinking that too I'll look further at it tomarrow its late where I am. I wasn't sure cos it tamps the pucks fine just not dispenses them
Try turning it off with the power button and turning back on. That worked for me. When the water is gone it will blink again, refill the water and start again.
@SophieHarrison-n6l mine was doing the same thing. Me being impatient, I stopped and switched it off after 5 mins of nothing draining… Turned it back on, followed the steps over again, THIS time I was “patient” 😅 let it do its thing and walked away… heard it do a tiny rinse from the steamer and paused again…. 10 minutes later it FINALLY did another rinse, 25-30 minutes later all up with tiny pours and lengthy pauses, it had finally rinsed/drained for me…. hope this can help in any way.
@@TomsCoffeeCorner I have left it unplugged overnight and this morning it still displayed the error. Is power cycling any different to what I have done ? Thanks
@@ForeverFrengers I have managed to sort it by doing an extra long cycle and cleaning a bit the area where the compressed powdered coffee is expelled from. Good luck
You might have forgotten to turn the steam dial to the 0 position after a rinse. I did the same. It'll let you rinse as many times as you want until you turn the dial back

Delonghi should pay you for this.

Mine went through the wand but only a certain amount went through, what might be the cause of this?
Thank you
during the rinse, the water won’t come out from the steamer but rather from the place where the machine pours coffee. how can i fix it ?🙁
Well, the machine decides itself where to output the solution and or rinse, so it might be part of the program. The models also slightly differ over time. Good luck!
yes the model was different and it needed two rinse, first from coffee tube and the second one from the steamer. after that it finished the program
Thank youu❤
Hi Tom,
Will you see a big difference in terms of espresso quality and extraction between a Breville Barista Express and a Delonghi Magnifica?
Thank you for the excellent videos!
Well yes. The BBE will be very decent. The Magnifica doesn't even make espresso - only "coffee crema".
@@TomsCoffeeCorner thank you very much for the answer!

Hmm, maybe try rinsing again. Or if that doesn't work do the process over, but just with water.
No need the tablets?
