This is awesome! So much value. I really think you are the best surf coach on TH-cam. The way you break down the technical aspects doesn't come off as daunting. I'm really happy to see you're doing coaching. I'm heading straight to the website right now. Thank you Ben!
Just finishing a one and a half month surfing trip and for the first time longboarding. I am glad i found this channel, it has served me as a source of information and as a source of inspiration. Thanks a lot.
So stoked you're finding it helpful!!! Really amped to hear this - and thanks so much for your support, would absolutely love to hear how things develop!! Message on my insta anytime !!
Really good video, With great detail! So good to see a tutorial with someone learning instead of a pro. Much easier to relate and see How to progress by watching actual progression. Thank you for sharing ben🙏🏽
Ahh thanks so much I’m stoked you found it useful! YeH that’s the whole idea with these for them to hopefully be super relatable and demonstrate progression in that way - thanks so much and really appreciate the support 🙏 🤙
@@BenConsidine its great that you could see this way of teaching being helpful. Sometimes I watch surf tutorials and it looks more like a show of ego than showing how. Lol. Pros make it look easy so it’s hard to relate. I know you are a pro but you seem more modest and humble. That’s a good feature to have :)
@@BenConsidine ben just had one of my best surf days this morning. And you advise worked so much. I’m walking around the board much more. Hopefully I’ll get to a pint of riding that wave that let’s me nose ride. Thank you again. I’m buzzing today
I see lifelong surfers not stepping on the tail to turn and wondering why they have a hard time cranking agressive or vertical turns,...and I have the same problem every time when I go from a shorter board to a longboard in mushy waves...every time! It takes at least a few rail bogs before I start stepping back enough, thanks for the great video ben this is such a common issue.
Yeah it’s super common!! Haha I get it when I go from my 9’4s to my big 9’9!! I think ‘why are my turns so sticky!!’ Then remember to adjust my spacing haha, but thanks so much and glad you liked it 🙏🤙🤙
Pedro!! Haha so nice to meet and catch up with you and thank you so much for helping with boards and offering yours! The last day you offered your board we were filming this and so didn’t quite have time haha, but I really really appreciate it 🙏🤙
Thank you for this vid! This is by far the most helpful video we've come across when it comes to the foot placement, body movements, and board mechanics for learning to turn. Super helpful!!! ✌️🤙
2:49 I see this all the time, in many places in the world. More so in "developed" countries. Some people try to surf with their "head" and do not "feel" what is happening. Feeling as the act of using all the senses in the present moment to successfully complete a task. That is engaging the vision, ear, touch and propioception (specially the last one, although not consider an official "sense"). These are felt first, then they are put into words and conceptualized. I tried surfing "theorically" first and it didn't work. Then I tried surfing first then finding words for what i was feeling, experiencieng and doing on a wave, and that has been working beautifully, also having the luck to be able to surf every day.😊
Hey everyone! If you're interested in progressing you're surfing feel free to check out Longboard Sessions at longboardsessions.com/ yewwww!!!

Hi. I am Pedro from Peniche. Nice to met you. Nice guy and friendly in real life not just in videos

So stoked it was helpful!! Yeah I love breaking down other surfers positions it’s super fun, so glad you liked it as well!! 🙏🤙
I find the easiest way to get tail pressure is to simply lift weight from your front foot, the board always follows.
Are you still in Portugal Ben?
Hey! Not anymore but had an absolute blast! Over in Morocco now! 🙂🙏🤙
Don't forget imsouane, the amazing right-hander then.
haha definitely!! Cannot wait 🙏🤙🤙
