I feel like having you as a professor would be both a blessing and a curse: a blessing because you’re a great teacher and a curse because your soothing voice would lull me to sleep every lecture
It's like Einstein once said after staring at an equation for 31 days straight, "It's all sticks and noodles and sometimes they overlap". Great guy that Einstein, I've heard he was pretty smart and it's clear Peter has studied him closely. I actually really like hearing your method and the reasons you do things because it's handy to think about art differently to yourself sometimes.
This was actually very helpful. Each of the tips is a nice way to just start drawing without knowing where you're going but still ending up somewhere cool.
I love that as he learns new things in school Peter tries to share with us. I don't see him becoming a tutorial channel but sharing what you know and what you do with someone, especially knowing they like and might want to replicate your art, is just very nice of him
Great tutorial, but what i love the most about it are the little comments such as "You don't have to do it exactly like that" "No need to rush" and "No need to be perfect". Litterally the opposite of what most of my art teachers used to say. It had to be their way, with those colours, with those supplies, not with such harsh lines, yadda yadda. It made the only thing i enjoy nightmare and a chore. As a person with anxiety and authority issues this was soo soothing and relaxing to watch, love it so soo much

this was really helpful, please, peter, explain more about these things, i got everything you were trying to say, the way you think is very interesting, i enjoy your art very much, i'm a fan from brazil, bye.

I remember him mentioning going to the gym, maybe that's why. Even his eyes, there's so much more life... I'm so happy to witness this wonder 🥰
I do paint pouring and I’m trying to learn to take it much further by adding highlights and depth after the painting is finished. This is very helpful Peter. I’ve sold a lot of paintings finally. I’m retired now and finally I have time to do what I’ve always dreamt about doing. I really enjoy your videos and your calming voice relaxes me. It helps me to take in what you’re saying without all the unnecessary background noise. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, thank you. I can’t believe I just discovered your videos a few weeks ago, also I bought a fountain pen and I haven’t used one since I was in high school a long time ago. Thanks for that too, I’m really enjoying it.
Filip Ferreira Rodrigues I think there would be a mix of otherworldly terror but also beautiful soothing alien noises, as though in the midst of the confusion and chaos there is an unexpected source of beauty and unity
Just keep smiling and talking......I think you could convince me that the moon was made from chewing gum with that voice of yours!! I love the way that you can explain things without getting in a flap about it. You're so calm.....and it kind of rubs off on me, which is great from my anxiety's point of view. Thank you for another great video. I'm learning all the time!!❤❤❤
I will always love how Peter just, without any build up, will just showcase artistic masterpieces and then carefully go through and deconstruct his thought process in making them
I'm 40 and I only just started drawing in the last 2 months and all thanks to your videos. So yes, please make more with your tips and tricks. Or even just videos where you talk about what you're thinking while drawing. That's actually what inspired me to try drawing. You were explaining that you just make lines and see what happens and how it doesn't matter if they're good lines. Fix them if you need to or just add more that you do like. Some how those things had never occurred to me.
Went to the MC Escher museum in the Hague (the Netherlands) yesterday. He plays around with perspectives. Using bird's-eye view for example, where you look down on something creates depth as well. The man is a genius and looking at his art can give you a lot of pointers. I'm not a drawer myself but an art enthousiast and learned a great deal about techniques by just looking and try to figure out how artists work. Loved this video Peter because the process of making art is equally exciting if not more than the art work itself. (But that is just my humble opinion)
Thanks peter! I normally draw people and realism or even some more cartoony people. But you got me into abstract drawing! I started 6 years ago when i first watched you and i stopped doing it for a few years now i am watching you again and im doing some more abstract. Im so glad because ive had a really big art block with the art i normally do and this is so relaxing and nice. You dont have to worry about anatomy and things!
I have always rooted for American Pie's Paul Finch, and I'm right to do so. He has mastered the arts, and is now helping others become better artists. 🤝💐
More of these please. They are more helpful than you can ever know. The process of only making some lines with breaks for later connections would almost warrant a video on its own. Thank you Peter. Very much.
God! You are so wonderful!!! I’m grateful that you are so generous with your talent. My doodles are evolving rapidly and I am enjoying them immensely.❤️
Hi Peter! I discovered your videos not so long ago (I recently bought a platinum and a muji fountain pen, and I found your channel). I love your drawings, you seem to be a person who really enjoys what he does and who is quite focused when he draws. I like these little videos where you show tips and tricks like these, because it gives a glimpse over your universe and how you think when you draw, and it's quite unique.
This probably my first comment on any TH-cam video ever. Peter, you made start drawing, and this little insight on what goes in your mind and the little techniques you use helps a lot. Please keep them coming.
Wow, I learned something that is difficult to articulate. I am going to play this video over and over to ingrain it in my head. I'm 58 years old and learned something new. I'm not such an old dog after all. Thanks Peter.
Very useful. Apart from portraits I like to draw old buildings and when I watched your video it made me think about how I wanted a building landscape to stand out. thanks for showing your video!!!

Another good idea for a video like this is to draw for us the basic shapes you put in most of your drawings.
