Nah man, I _love_ this dungeon. Playing Red-Light-Green-Light with the chariots is admittedly kind of annoying until you figure out where you can drop safely, but it’s satisfying getting to take out three of the suckers at once, and then the boss room makes for either a solid challenge of you’re going solo or a cool 2v2 moment with your favorite spirit ashes. And at the end of it all, you’ve got two shiny new sets of some of the best looking armor in the game.

There are actually only 3 chariots in Azurias Heros Grave, and they teleport up and down to hit all of the hallways. The first one teleports twice, where the other just goes up and down the two sides of the far slope from the midpoint of the main room. Moving the pillar causes the first one to teleport to a different location than it normally does, breaking the AI and causing it to sit still in the path of the other two, which collide with it, destroying all 3. The last living one drops Holy Ground and the Tree Sentinel outfit when it dies, which you can see happen in a strange almost spontaneous-looking fashion if the chariots are very out of synch, but it does in fact run into the shattered dead body of the other which is what destroys it, even if it looks like nothing is there to break it.
You can use Margit's shackle while still in the upper part of the dungeon to activate the column that destroys the chariots. Making it much easier to get down to lower parts of the dungeon. This is still true even after the nerf to effective range of the shackle.
The funniest thing about this dungeon, it becomes trivial if you have the shackle items (mohgs or Margit's) and you can use it once and it'll 'solve' the puzzle that breaks the chariots since those items clear invisible walls and raise and lower the pillars that have the light bearing statue and flame throwing statues.
i found this heroes grave is one of the better ones and i actually enjoyed the exploring and additional reward and its very easy to sprint thru. destroying the chariot was pretty satisfying too. by the time i was there, the knights where a piece of cake as i fought them so mamy times before hand. i don't know, but this one felt more of a relief and bonus then actual pain :)
Yeah, I didn't learn about the shackle trick until after I cleared the place. Glad I didn't use it though. Wouldn't be as satisfying. Gonna use it from now on though.
Easily the most memorable Boss fight for me in Elden Ring. The fight is tough and unfair as hell but it felt beatable at least. It reminded me of O/S in Dark Souls but not in like a "remember this?" kinda way. 10/10 I wanted to cry the whole time.
I stayed there for about 3 day’s doing nothing but as a summon helping people fight the duo. It was fun, but i only got about 20 great rune for about total 12 hours.

The best way to beat those crucible knights is to take the shield one out first because that one rushes you and try to keep a much distance as you possibly can. i didn't have to much trouble with them but maybe i was lucky.
For me it was the exact opposite, the spear knight has easier punish windows, and he goes from already having a ranged attack to.. more gapclosing stuff, while the shield knight only really gets the long range/fast moves when below half
It helps with the bosses, that they are kinda hard-coded to be more passive if another one have started the attack. It doesn't mean that they essentially stop, and nor do they cancel any on-going attacks, but they won't begin the new ones most of the time. I also figured that the one with a spear(unnamed one) is a lot more agressive, but easier to kill, than Ordovis, so luring him to always be closer, and hitting him once at a time, proves to be a good method of reducing the threat from two enemies to just one. After which, it's just a normal sword and shield Crucible Knight - not that it's trivial itself, but it's fairly common, and you'd likely be used to dealing with them when there's no distractions to disrupt you from fighting properly, like random spear impaling you from the side
I kinda noticed this too it felt way easier when getting summoned to just 2v1 and dodge the other knight than it did when we tried to have separate duels with them
Found this place last night. I was just enjoying my way, I was sitting on too many runes to be traversing the mist. But the dungeon was easy enough I figured I had no issues. I had a lot of issues.
The double crucible knight fight was the hardest and most stressful 30 minutes of running around in the room to bait out one attack when i can safely get 1 hit in my life
First time I played this dungeon, I didn't try to open the final door because I thought there would be a lever somewhere! I looked everywhere and gave up and came back later. The feeling of betrayal came over me as the door opened just like that. I was reward by contracting a fatal case of being bludgeoned to death after meeting the knights at the boss room.
i love this dungeon because of how brutal it is. after you weave your way between chariots and basilisks, there's Crucible Knight duo fight at the end (which really isn't as hard as it seems at first - both of them don't have much health). you can also get one of the best armor sets in the game in here!!
I’m gonna be honest here, I absolutely love the double crucible knight fight, I did it without a spirit ash summon after dozens of attempts and it was up there for one of the best feeling bosses imo.
Same, crucible knight is one of my favorite souls like bosses (haven’t played ds1 yet) and this duo fight added an interesting layer. Ultimate by this point in the game crucible knight combos are so easy to memorize and read and as long as you know how to space them it’s essentially just 2 consecutive 1 on 1’s. I definitely enjoyed it (and also no spirit ash here)
Honestly, one of the best Bossfights on the Game for me. I was waay underleveled for this Boss and I had to use EVERYTHING the Game gives you. Summons, first time using a great rune, the thing that gives constantly FP and other consumanles.. I finally did it, and never felt so good again
I remember getting summoned to help out with this fight from the sign post. The host had another summon with them. And from the slew of thank you messages assumed the duo, who had matching names, were stuck on these two for a long time. Just remember, don’t give up, skeleton!
you can use the beast repellent torch if you dont want the death-frogs to aggro. they do spit death-smoke if its a scripted ambush but after that they will stop attacking you unless attacked.
Thanks for reminding me that I didn't finish the boss fight lol. I made it there way earlier than I should have, disabled the chariots, got slaughtered by the Knights, then said "that's gonna piss future me off" and left.
On my first playthrough I was one hit away from killing the 2nd crucible night and my game disconnected from online and forced me into the title screen. Very fun stuff
You can literally cheese the entire area by using Margit's Shackel in the area where both chariots are together. Literally no more chariots and a nice set of armor to make your fashion souls hit harder.
@@Smiththebat When you go down the first slope and jump beneath where the death blight frog things are. Skip the dungeon that awards you the goddamned Tree Sentinel armor? Never! Visiting that place is essential! Although I usually don't bother fighting the knights until way later. After all, why would I? I already got the _good_ armor. Seriously, though, that dungeon is actually very simple once you know your way around it, with the exception of that damned drop down to the beams you have to execute perfectly while a chariot is barreling down on you. That's where I usually die ten times in a row before lucking out and landing correctly. But the rest of it I can probably do in my sleep by now.
I'm kind of meh on the dungeon, but the boss fight is actually one of my favorites. Had a lot of trouble on my first playthrough so on my second I resolved to use no summons or spirit ashes. Was ready to take a bunch of deaths but managed to kill them first try, just had to play patient and know my openings.
On my first playthrough, I knew about Margit's Shackle being able to uncover illusory walls. Ended up using it at exactly the right spot in this dungeon, immediately crashing the chariots. I was like "wtf just happened!?", and the rest was very easy :) (except for the crucible duo of course)
I hated this place until I learned about the Margit's Shackle glitch. Then it was just the falling of that ledge and sliding off the beam like I was greased causing rage. Never really had a problem with the basilisks in specifically this location.
Here's something it always seems like a lot of people haven't learned about Crucible Knights. If you hit a Crucible Knight with any attack that would knock a human sized enemy off of their feet, they'll flinch from that attack every single time. They won't fall down, but it'll stop them. Stuff like Lion's Claw or Giant Hunt. Even attacks that are available super early into the game like Stamp (Upward Cut) or Charge Forth. You can use moves like that to interrupt their attempts to attack you, allowing you to take shots at them while taking a lot less risks of your own. Even if the sword & shield ones block the attack, they'll still recoil from the impact more than long enough for you to move before they do anything. For this fight in particular, it's possible to blast both of them with the Ashes of War from either the Ruins Greatsword or Blasphemous Blade, since those projectiles knock down and travel through enemies. Personally, I'm also fond of repeatedly blasting Crucible Knights with Giantsflame Take Thee! Laughing as they struggle to even get close since that spell comes out way too fast for what it does to enemies. Though that spell does have late availability. Both of the Haima spells can work too for Sorceries. And those are available pretty reasonably into the game.
assassin's gambit AoW prior to entry into the boss room keeps the Sword weiding Knight stationary, allowing you to kite the spear enemy to the back corner to fight/beat it. then just reapply Gambit and get a good lick on the sword knight.
I was able to kill the Chariotts early by accident. If you bait one of the gargoyles monsters shoot the Grey mist onto the chariots pathway it KO's them, and you get the armor
beast repellent torch and half of your problems are gone, the ambushes still happen but those can be easily avoided because you aren't being overwhelmed
Anyone wanna talk about the catacombs just accross the street? that shit took me 45 minutes to solve like it took me a long time to realise that the transportations chests were teleporting me between two identical catacombs.
Surprisingly, this place was way easier for me than Gelmir Hero's grave because my adventurous ass descended into Leyndell sewers for Mohg's shackle first.
I happen to love the Crucible Knight with the scorpion shield. He is a skill check in his gaol and he is my favorite boss and the only boss I have respect for...
Having to quickly line up the initial drop onto the beam before a chariot knocks you off is extremely frustrating, but god the crucible knight armor is worth it. The set looks amazing together but its even better for making cool outfits since the gold goes with so much other armor. The crucible knight set also looks great together but the unique shade of orange/brown means you can't mix it with too many other pieces of armor without looking uncoordinated and tacky.
@@THE_MOONMAN yeah, I only did it on my secon playthrough by accident because I was tiered of pokeing walls in every dungeon and had found out about is effect. Was suprised when I exited and they all broke.
When I learned to parry, I came back to these two crucibles in ng+ and parried them to death, 10/10 most satisfying thing to do especially chaining the parries together
you can use margits shackle and after you reach a certain point in the dungeon the pillar will *erect* on it's own, then just wait for the chariots to break :)
There's actually somewhat of a cheese for this. Grab the Margit's Shackle item from Patches and use it right in that little alcove at 1:24 . Using the item for some reason procs the thingy you need to hit to spawn the chariot which makes them crash into each other.
i really like all of the chariot dungeons. They add a bit of puzzling and danger...its not simply something you can just hit a lot to get through. Also like all of them have pots you can drop on the chariots to make life easier.
I only kept at this dungeon for so long because of the armor set and finding the tree sentinel armor, a badass set with some of the highest defenses in the game, was just the cherry on top
I've seen, maybe, 7 places you do that i've never seen. But I did actually go through this one on my play through. Missed the omen/talisman though. Took maybe 15-20 attempts on that Crucible x2
The reason it makes the others disappear is because there *is* only 3 of them - they keep getting teleported around in response to you. You just when you break em, teleport the third into the other two's path.
i ran past one of the chariots at the beginning and a 3rd chariot spawned and all chariots in this dungeon were destroyed i was confused but glad i could safely explore this dungeon
You can trigger one of the pillars with margith`s shackles from the second ramp room. Which will spawn the third chariot that destroys the other ones. Basicly skipping the hardest part of the dungeon.
The dungeon part itself I found a pain at the start but after so many boss runs without the summon circle I found out you can make it to the boss in one continuous run with confidence and some balls.
Golden Epitath is usefull since it gives you an aura buff that lets you kill skelletons with any weapon, so if you just keep it in your back pocket when you enter those graves, youll be solid. Still not great tho, but usefull.
I learned the hard way that the two parallel chariots can desync if you get hit by something else (probably a bug) and the side hitboxes seem to sort of extend outward the longer they're rendered which is why I got hit by one of the first two of this dungeon. 10/10 (2/10 for items and 8/10 for GET ME OUT)
Yeah, I discovered this when I was exploring the area you get the tree sentinel armor by doing a puzzle and you get the crucible axe armor in the great sword oh Doris great sword.

ngl i love all the heros graves, they feel unfair but theyre pretty cool dungeons. Much more unique than the other dungeons
I've beat the game several times and this playthrough is the first time I'll be going through this dungeon lol
There's a corpse hanging over the ledge directly above one of the beams. If you jump off at that point it makes getting down there easier.
assassin's gambit AoW prior to entry into the boss room keeps the Sword weiding Knight stationary, allowing you to kite the spear enemy to the back corner to fight/beat it. then just reapply Gambit and get a good lick on the sword knight.
Good timing, I literally just went through this dungeon yesterday. My second time now, I don’t skip anything in my playthroughs.
Lol, the Ganon boss music during the boss fight got me
You need two items in this place : the beast torch to prevent froggy attack you and the Margit shackle to destroy those pesky chariot.
Miquella shack makes this dungeon trivial as it triggers the fire pilliars to trigger the chariots kill switch
Mohg or morgott's shackle, but yeah. Technically that's a glitch though right
@@THE_MOONMAN yeah, I only did it on my secon playthrough by accident because I was tiered of pokeing walls in every dungeon and had found out about is effect.
I didn't know this dungeon was a thing but now I want that armor set and sword...
i really like all of the chariot dungeons.
I think it's fairly simple with Margit's Shackle, since you can use it to summon the shadow chariot to destroy the two at a distance.
This dungeon got me thinking that being in Beyond Scared Straight was a way better alternative than going through here again
“Do I need to say more” Hits different
What armor set are you wearing? That chestpuece is awesome!
Incredible laugh noise, hope someone clips that and it becomes a big meme
You can trigger one of the pillars with margith`s shackles from the second ramp room.
Which will spawn the third chariot that destroys the other ones.
Basicly skipping the hardest part of the dungeon.
What armour set are you wearing? I love it
The dungeon part itself I found a pain at the start but after so many boss runs without the summon circle I found out you can make it to the boss in one continuous run with confidence and some balls.
that was THE weirdest timing. i liked the video and a second later he asks why i havent yet. i win this time XD
I actually liked this dungeon and had a good time trying to get chariots timings right
This dungeon gives the tree sentinel armor set, thats enough for me to love it.
I go here every playthrough for the crucible axe armor and that's it.
10/10 (2/10 for items and 8/10 for GET ME OUT)
I didn't mind the dungeon, but when I get summoned there, the host always wants to go down the beams which spells death 9 times outta 10
No man, the worst boss ever must be the double gargoyle fight.
Yeah this dungeon was one of my favorites a very hard to one to stumble upon by accident at level 100😂
Honestly I like the dungeon because it gives you pretty high rewards for just exploring and you basically have an empty dungeon once you did that
Yeah, I discovered this when I was exploring the area you get the tree sentinel armor by doing a puzzle and you get the crucible axe armor in the great sword oh Doris great sword.
It's funny I've litterally used that sword ever since I first found it and still am now
its crazy that i just entered here yesterday, did everything but the boss and left
I didn't find this too bad, but I skipped the lava one, because I didn't know that you could ride the chariot.
I have moonwalked out of very few places in souls games.
When I found out this place was optional "Bille Jean," started playing
Auriza heroes grave was literally my first dungeon i fully completed and im probably insane but it was actually my favorite one…
