I'm not sure how the algorithm isn't giving you the views you deserve, but this deserves a lot of attention. This was so, so, so, so, so cool! I honestly can't wait for what project there is to come next. Subbed!
I hired a guy like 7 years ago to forge me a saw cleaver just like this. He got 90% of the way through and basically gave up. I would have been so impressed if it had ended up like this. In hindsight, it probably wasn't worth his time since my budget was 1k and this is definitely a higher budget item. Fantastic channel, looking forward to seeing more of your creations!
Thank you! I got a lot of cool projects planned for the future! Also how disappointing that it never got finished, hopefully you didnt have to pay for something you never actually got!
I am making this for a school project and really loved how you explained how you did it and what could've be done with it. Really love this, keep up the great work my guy!
Thanks! That seems like a very fun thing to do for a school project! I got more projects in the works and the plan is to be more consistent with making videos in 2024!
My favorite game still of all time. So I appreciate that sheer talent and work you put in . Can tell BB holds a special place in heart as well with this beautiful piece of art you made! ❤
The wrappings would just get destroyed if I started swining this at something and I didn't want to redo them again. But say if it was some type of greatsword it would have been more fitting to do a real test!
Absolutely incredible, this video deserves more attention. The result was the best I've ever seen, and the step by step walkthrough kept me interested the entire time. Keep up the good work!
This might be the craziest weapon I’ve ever seen and the most impractical however…… it’s amazing. You def have skills. Consider investing in a metal lathe. You’d do incredible things with it. Thanks
Thanks! Yea, it's a replica from a video game and they tend to be more focused on cool designs rather then being practical. To me it's not only a memorable item from something I enjoy, but also a good oppertunity to do some creative and fun metal work! It's actually fitting that you mention a metal lathe becuase I have spent quite a lot of time refurbishing a 1960s swedish made metal lathe since late last year! There is only some final touches and rewiring that needs to be done, then I can try it out and use it in future projects/videos!
@@Robenbuilds well I can certainly tell that you have amazing skills so a lathe will just be that enhancement to go that much further Keep creating and … we’ll all be watching!! AND by the way, it takes time to build up subscriptions but I’ll bet you’ll go far.
I don't even want to imagine how expensve this project was. All those tools and materials... I hope it will get a million views so you gain something back. Anyways, amazing quality work, subscribed.
Thank you! I usually collect a lot of scrap materials whenever I get the opportunit, so I try and save some cost and by doing that. For this project the only material I purchased was the big plate, other costs would be the consumables like chemicals, welding gas/wire and grinding discs etc. When it comes to the tools, this is something that I have built up slowly over a long period of time and since I love making things they will always stay useful. The collection of tools will hopefully grow even more with time so that I can make more and even cooler projects!
Awesome! I’ve seen a few saw cleaver replicas and yours is definitely the most impressive to me. Can’t wait for more and I hope this channel gets the traction it deserves
You deserve wayyyyyy more attention! This is one of the most beautiful replicas I have ever seen and it being a saw cleaver from bloodborne (my favorite game of all time) is absolutely incredible. I am very impressed and keep up the good work!
This is absolutely stunning. I think the most interesting mechanic trick weapon in bloodborne is the beast-cutter, I tried to figure out how it works but i just couldn't, and there is not a single video trying on making that weapon replica. That must me amazing to se, if you want to give it a try
Thanks! I agree, the beast cutter is really cool and would make for an interesting project! It would be a fun design challange to make a funcitonal mechanism for that one!
@@Robenbuilds I'm not into games no more like I was when I was a kid! But you made me look up the game cause I've never heard of it b4 and other ppls examples of that tried to make the same thing! Honestly everyone else's versions are 3D printed and are trash! I think u went thru 4 beards but stayed boss to keep that same shirt! That's commitment! 🤣 if you sell it that should be sold for high 4- to 5 figures for just the time and attention to detail! Good luck!
Sick build! I like the clever little steps you took to simulate thickness and volume on the blade, that's very tricky to achieve as a "wieldy" piece of steel can look so frail and thin (even if it's not) compared to the original thicker video game design!
Thanks! Yea, there is a lot of things on these game builds that will requrie some out of the box thinking to make some parts more accurate, let alone possible to create in real life :)
@@Robenbuilds yeah! And especially since those weapons have been designed by, well, designers, and not actual craftspeople. So a lot of it's practicalities are left to interpretation!
Awesome build i really enjoyed the detailed explanation. Out of curiosity what would you as a fellow member of the hunter's workshop think which of the other trickweapons are actually doable? Definitely looking forward to more videos from you.
Thanks! I have spent a lot of time thinking about this and I think many of them are possible to create replicas of, but with varying levels of difficulty. It comes down to how "usable" they need be and how accurate you want them. Some things requires some artistic decision making that might not be 100% accurate, just to make them possible to create. An example: The burial scythe can probably not be used to hit hings with while it is in the scythe form, it will not be strong enough to withstand any real abuse. There is just too many points of weakness if it's made accurate. While the sword form would definitely be useable. I think this is fine as long as you can hold it and pose with it while its in the scythe form.
that is really awesome. I wish I could build this too from these materials honestly I have aa video of my saw cleaver I built but maybe one day it will be from better material...
But why did you not wield it properly even with gentle gusto? It looks like the disembowelment of the weapon not the realization, especially if it cannot even be posed somewhat realistically
Hey quick question I notice you used a sheet of metal and I think men at arms used a railroad track, what would you need to make it lighter? Like ingots and then forge it out? I’m sure weight is a big deal for a weapon like that.
Personally I would use aluminum for the blade. It wouldn’t hold an edge as good, but you aren’t too worried about razor sharpness on a giant cleaver. It would cut down a lot on the weight and make it much easier to make.
this is a great video but this made me realize that the teeth on the saw cleaver go forward which doesn't make any sense when you think about it from an actual weapons standpoint
Thanks! I think it kind of makes sense, they are like tiger claws that digs in and slashes when you swing the saw cleaver while its folded. But oh boi, wait until you see the geometry of the teeth on the in-game model up close haha.
As I was watching the video near the end, I thought it was going to be a non functional Prop but when u pulled the trigger it actually materialised into a legit beast killing machine !!! Such a magical experience 🤩🤩 💯💯 My only input would be that of aesthetic. The cloth wrapped around should have blood red stains to really give that Blood thirst vibe 🩸☠💀 Happy to be ur 300th sub!! Lets Goooo🥰🥰
Eyyy thanks! I was originally going to stain the wrappings and splatter some ink/paint on the blade to get that dried in blood look. However, I tried both inks and acrylics that I already had available and I wasn't happy with any the test pieces I did. It either looked comically red or way to muddy so I just decided to leave it as is for now. I like to imagine that this is basically the saw cleaver that you spawn with before you start hunting any beasts. Because if you look at the saw cleaver in-game the blade and the wrappings are not particularly bloody before you have been in combat!
Of course I read comments! I love to hear what people have to say and I always try to answer. The plate I cut out and started making the blade from is 680x300x10 mm
@@Robenbuilds OH COOL! Honestly when I get the tools possible for this kind of thing I want to try making blood borne weapons in real life. I've decided my first attempt would be a saw spear that's heavily slimmed down.
@@bluewolf5521 I really like the saw spear aswell so that would be super cool! Regarding the question, After I applied the chemical I used some fine steel wool to polish some off the "loose" oxides off the surface. When you do cold blueing like this on larger parts it tends to come out kind of blotchy, and if you carefully polish the surface while it's still wet with the chemical it makes the finish more consistent.
@@Robenbuilds I would recommend the use of magnets for the saw spear, I looked at it a few times and the who transforming part seems hard as it's not visible. Though doubt such a thing would work for in game version.

A cheap belt sander will help tons in cleaning up those shapes. You can also cut the belt thinner to hit finer grooves.
