I know Nash aka Charlie had Captain Commando outfit in Street Fighter 5 as a costume.

@@TupocalypseShakurehh. Kinda. Basically he was named Nash in The original Japanese translations. And named Charlie when brought overseas. Somewhere since then they said f it and combined the names.
Sounds like a good segway into Captain Commando. After Zeku introduced the Striders into the Street Fighter universe, I'm all for this.

And that Asuras wrath Dlc with street fighter is starting to make me feel like Asuras wrath is The prequel to every capcom game.
The Game even ends with a comic of Asuras wrath characters in Metro city.
Also is Seth the same type of robot as the Asuras Wrath robots?

I feel CCs comrades don't fit with Luke's style. The time lines seem too tight to allow this. Also, Capcom probably would rather have a new character to sell us.🎉

Okay...Mars is a cool name. I checked in...and Mars Carlisle is the name...also Captain commando is strangely pretty co. A block build looking guy with glasses punching baddies is amusing.
This is actually a tough one to dismiss. Canonically, Captain Commando's setting was written to take place in 2026.
This actually means that based on the year listed in the lore, Captain Commando could in theory take place 10 or so years after the events of SF6 (which likely takes place some time in the 2010s, based on the existing street fighter timeline).
It's also notable that Captain Commando's fighting style is reminiscent of Guy's fighting style... Maybe Luke picked up some training from Guy...
It's plausible, as Guy could be training a whole bunch of people around the time of SF5 and SF6, as we know Kimberly is using Bushinryu...
It would make sense since Ginzu, one of Captain Commando's squad mates, is also a practitioner of the style.
We also know that Zeku not only trained Guy in Bushinryu, but is also responsible for starting the Strider school.
Meaning, it's possible that while Zeku is busy starting the Striders, Guy decides to also start his own dojo and is training half a dozen new members of the Bushinryu school.
Guy broke the tradition of the disciple killing their master in lethal combat as a form of graduation, meaning there's no reason why Guy can't train multiple disciples now.
...But the lore also claims that Commando doesn't just fight crime on earth, but _throughout the whole galaxy._ So there's still some screws that would need to be tightened for this to come together.
It would be neat if Street Fighter, Final Fight, Captain Commando and Strider were all in the same universe, but it's clear it was never meant to be like that from the beginning.
Maybe we'll see some retcons that actually tie everything together, though.
Capcom seems to have a bit of a desire to be like Marvel or DC, in the sense that most of their properties are in the same universe and can interact with each other. So I wouldn't write this theory off, actually.

This theory ignores C. Viper who literally has Captain Commando's move set. I mean, the direct move set.
Cap Commando's fighting style is nothing like Guy's. Commando is a mixture of freestyle wrestling & American kickboxing which in the 2020s would be labeled as MMA. Luke being Cap is plausible but the Bushin ninja connection is way off.

Remember the game Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight. Where unknown reasons Localizers change the Character Kevin into Ken even though Kevin has has no relations with Ken Masters.
Great theory. Only complication is that their move pools do not overlap enough.

I think that would be a cool way to tie it all in.once again they made more canon connections. In world tour Kimberly talks about another bushinryu ninja she faced in a spar. Come to find out it's the dad of the ninja in captain commandos squad. So yeah the puzzle pieces are coming together

Capcom is prone to retcons and is never consistent. Would take that info with a grain of salt
The name translates to Mars Carlyle. I can't be so sure of Carlisle being the right spelling.
They already made a captain commando character in sf4 and it’s c.viper

I would actually start liking Luke if this was true
Luke currently instructs at Buckler Academy. Before that he was a private military contractor. And before that, he was in military special forces, which means that at one point in his life, he was LITERALLY A COMMANDO. So I think it’s entirely plausible that he would moonlight as a vigilante named “Captain Commando”, and use his day job at Buckler as cover.
Capitan Commando was one of the popular out of left field theories when Lukes teaser was originally shown. It would be cool if it came around for the story and a dlc costume

Captain Commando's real name is Mars Carlisle, and Capcom clearly remembers that because of the reference to both names in Resident Evil 3 remake.

Unrelated but I’m sad Sakura wasn’t added to SF6 since she could have originally been seen as a fan and possible successor of Ryu in the future for the next Gen of fighters but SF6 which has a huge cast of next gen fighters does not include her…it’s just sad honestly.
That would be a nice way to tie in the franchises and I could get behind it. Then they should release a new Captain Comando game where he dances like Luke so I regret my decision

That's a big stretch considering Captain Commando don't look to have any mma background to show of it and Luke's hairstyle doesn't exactly matches with CC's own.
Still I can see Luke having some promise of doing good as a hero with the whole stars and stripes motif he rocks on his shirt.

But SF6 takes place in 2023, only 3 years earlier in the setting of Cap Commando

@@ZolDubs Looking into it, it may be possible the old birthdates aren't relevant anymore anyway, and Capcom may just retcon their ages as games release like other mediums do.
I don't think it would be possible to confirm 2008 based off of just smartphones. SF6 seems ambiguous to what date, culture, and life was like in this time. Since Capcom doesn't seem to want to let go of old characters, they're kinda forced to keep them young.

I like it as a theory but Captain Commando already has a name, Mars Carlisle, this was from the Captain Commando manga. Dude is also the CEO of an electronics company. That don't mean Luke CAN'T be Captain Commando, they'd just be rebooting the franchise with a new backstory and all that if they made Luke Captain Commando. There's also already a vigilante superhero watching over Metro City...he's on the roof just below where you find Kimberly at night AND he gives Style EXP for Luke if you win after starting the fight with a Master Action...so that could be a good way to lean into it.
C.viper is already the first commando. She steals his moves from mvc2 has her own super hero costume. And has her own prototype gear similar to his.

now that we know more about luke and he’s getting a lot more established as the new protag for this era of SF, i doubt the theory a lot more than i did during SFV even if i can see it

Maybe Luke is Captain Commandos’ ancient ancestor perhaps, but there would have to be a Mega huge excuse for a technology to advance hyper quick if that’s the case(or Captain Commando is another timeline and Luke is his real identity in this separate timeline)!

Along with Morrigan, Felicia , L.Raptor, Strider Hiryu, Nameless Soldiers, Hsien Ko, Lin Kurowsawa, a couple guys from Saturday night slam masters. The world is already in-tangled. Hell even final fight is in the game. As far as Captain Commando goes, What do you think CAPCOM means? He is their mascot.
It could be but than it's been confirmed by Capcom that Captain Commando's actual name is Mars Carlisle. So unless Luke changed his name for some reason, than I doubt it. However, giving him Commando alt costume though.

I believe Luke is Captain Commando, As also if anyone plays World Tour and goes through lvling Luke's Style and Friendship, you find out he has a military background as well. So I don't think it's far off the Captain Commando Inspired Luke's design and being homage to Captain Commando.

In Street Fighter 6 in battle hub, we're able to play Final Fight, Street Fighter II. Street Fighter Alpha 2 and Captain Commando. Think about it....

Can't see it. I mean, both Luke and Captain Commando have very different personalities. Luke is energetic and smiling all the time while Commando seems more serious. Though I don't know too much about Commando. Just from what I saw in the game and MVC 2.
