There is a scene from the Clone Wars tv show where R2D2 uses a corner of a wall to remove his restraining bolt after being captured by a battlefield scavenger.
And in the next episode. Sliro dies to vader, Jaylen gets control of Zerek Besh and double crosses kays mom, Kay wants revenge and goes to the rebels, queue a do or die attack by the rebels on Zerek Besh, Jaylen dies, Kay joins the rebels. If this happens I will be so damn disappointed
You forgot the climax where a mortally wounded mom kills Jaylen, then tells Kay she "done good kid" before expiring. The $10,000 question is, will Kay shed a tear?
@@Julius_Hardware Better them winning then the planet destroying, police state enforcing, slave taking Empire. Weird how the bad guys are who some think should be running things
28:40 I'd assume that its 'cause the restratining bolt is much more advanced (expecially as a commando droid is much more advanced then an R2 unit), and dont forget that Jawas are likely used a many times recycled crappy falling apart bolt. Also, its a high possibly it includes some kinda dead mans switch to kill ND if its removed like luke did.
I think it's even worse than you described. Vail doesn't want a dead ISB Director, who she was presumably known to be with, to turn up dead during an attack, but she'd rather have a live ISB Director who would most likely skip the bounty altogether and end her before she could even leave the building.
To be fair, alive or dead, whoever runs the ISB will put a mark on her either way. Whether it's the current director for betraying her, or the next Director for murdering his predecessor.
With the whole restraining bolt on c3po and r2 in star wars and Luke removing them with flat head screwdriver, it might be because the family purchased the droids and the jawas deactivated the bolts but didn't remove them so that the family could reprogram the bolts later and Luke removed them before reprogramming, just a thought
The last thing you need is an alive ISb director that is the sole surviving witness to your heist. Also, Key Vess is not in the Casino's alert list? With a death mark she should be on every alert list and then some.
@@kaltaron1284 Exactly! It's not like Sliro isn't trying to track down his stolen unique ship that got swiped out from under him. Also, how was Kay supposed to lose the death mark, pretty sure those could only be canceled by the person funding that, who again, would be Sliro. Lots of very suspicious plot holes being ignored left and right on this Canto heist. Like the small size of the floating crate they nicked during the robbery. How was that tiny thing supposed to be carrying 157 million credits? Were they dealing in cryptocurrency? 😅🤔
To be honest the game does a real bad job at hiding whats going to come. During the briefing it was obvious that the whole heist was a setup, and Jalen would stab everyone in the back. I am just wondering how long was Sliro hiding in his own safe waiting for us to come. Lucky we had the best slicer in the Galaxy on the team or he would have starved to death in there. :) A bountyhunter going against her employer and letting him live to tell the story, is probably the dumbest thing you can do, there is not enough money in the Galaxy to save you from old colleagues hunting you down, not to mention you never work as a bountyhunter again. Why does Kay suddenly care about the Rebelguy? Until this episode she never showed any sympathy towards him, rather looking more as she would shoot him given the chance.
Hmmmm, I sense some powerful ominous foreshadowing. As if the Stupidity and purpose of everything shall be explained, in the next episode. Ok seriously WHO THE HELL doesn't just kill every Imperial they see given the chance?! Anyone worth their weight in SALT would cap that ISB Director straight in the forhead. But no.... that would be too logical and Ubisoft has story to tell.
"It's almost as if Ubisoft rushed the game out three months early in order to meet a deadline or something." Industry standard at the moment I'm afraid... Publishers pushing on one side, consumers on the other, and the fact they can fix it with updates after release means that "Release dates" are very much just for show. If you want to play a completed game, you gotta wait for the developers to finish it, and that means giving it some time after release.
It's not just industry standard at the moment, it's been this way for a good many years. I'd say that it's been this way ever since high speed internet was a thing. Once high speed internet became a thing game publishers didn't take long to realize that they didn't have to get their games perfect on release since they could now update and patch the game afterward via the web. And it has only gotten worse since digital downloads have become the main way people buy their games.
Darth Vader does "his" cameo and Riko goes offline at the very same time. Did anyone else hear in a galaxy far away a menacing "I Am Your Mother!"? You know just like we have never seen Jingles and Batman in the room at the same time.
I must admit I was seeing Jaylen as a Dexter DeShawn type who was always going to double cross everyone. But I didn't guess was going to try and take over the whole organsiation which I am surprised you didn't mention as the absolute dumbest idea of all. Sure he has all of Sliro's blackmail but with Sliro still alive (another stupid moment) he is still in command of Zerek Besh. The criminal element of the organisation aren't going to recognise Jaylen as the new head and once ISB finds out they sure as shit aren't going to just accept Jaylen either. I am sure they will say all the right things, take the rebel then capture and torture Jaylen until he gives up the data ball etc and if the ISB and Vader gets involved well have fun with that. Sure there will be some embarrassment and many Imperial Officers will probably be compromised and then executed for corruption but that's just a bit of cleaning house. Plenty more where they come from. A purge does wonders to focusing the survivors. I just don't see how Jaylen thinks he can take over Zerek Besh and hold it with nothing but information. Blackmailing individual Imps will bring in some money but certainly not make him the Boss of Bosses that he seems to think this will get him. Also Zerek Besh is probably heavily funded by the Empire so with that gone he is soon going to be at the mercy of a pissed off Empire, his own new organisation as well as the other four crime cartels. Stupid! I regret wasting my money on this game. Wasn't the game I was hoping for, pretty though it is.

I think the implication is that while anyone could remove a restraining bolt from a droid with basic handtools, its a great deal harder with someone elses droid without their knowledge or permission. The spike Gedeek made could do so regardless of the owners feelings on the matter
What amazes me about this whole game is the huge vent ducting system built to avoid security systems. Almost like it was designed by the rebellion specifically to dismiss the empires best security. 😅
29:23 Didn't ND-5 elaborate about this himself? The core point being that without the restraining bolt he'll fall back into his core battle droid programming?
I was wondering that too, so either you have ND-5 as he is now, restrained, or you have the unleashed Roger the Jolly Roger going all Roger Roger on any sentients in his line of sights? 🤔😳
That release dates seem to be more important than fully developed games these days. Games are released whether they are bug free or not just to meet the intended release date.
No. no, no Jingles. You do let Sliro the ISB Director live. Vader will kill him for you, for free. Vader won't even ask Sliro what happened. Or atleast that's how Vader usually operates.
With the massive patch you might think this is their first game and mistakes were made, and that might be the case with the way AAA developers go through employees.
I thought the whole reason for robbing Sliro was so that he wouldn't have the money to pay the death mark or something, which sounded stupid at the time (because rich people always have all their money just piled up in one place). But now you know he's an Imp, and therefore is bankrolled by the Empire, why is Kay conducting this massively high risk robbery? This game doesn't make sense at whatever level you look at it, but I'm enjoying watching Jingles not making sense of it!
In the case of "Dead ISB director", it would make sense that people like Sliro have what is called a Xanathos gambit at the ready: any (reasonable expected) choice is accounted for, even death. Most likely if Sliro died, it would trigger a plan that results in Kay and the rest of the gang being placed at the top most wanted list. A death mark is survivable. The entire Empire hunting you down? Not so much.
But Sliro has a personal reason to hunt you down and will bring the full weight of the Empire down on them, all he has to do is label them as rebels. His replacement would only be after them for professional reason and may forget about them or at least find some other target higher on their priority after a few years of hiding. Still not safe but safer with Sliro dead. All of the above is assuming that there are cameras in the vault recoding who robbed and killed Sliro, otherwise they may be free. A death make may not continue if the person who put it on you is dead. There would be no one to pay any bounty.
If vail knew darth vader was waiting for sliro to fail as the director to shut them down then she probably would of killed sliro. But Killing the ISB director without that knowledge she probably just assumed they would appointment another one and she would then become a bigger target than Kay by the empire

@@Talon1124 That's more the Empire's style-also the criminals that Kay pals around with, considering she is one. Empire's bad for business anyway. Rebels are the better option for even a quick alliance . Plus, the Empire destroyed Alderaan. They got to pay with bodies for that
Since the game gets the expensive stuff right and the inexpensive stuff wrong, perhaps the developers have been watching the most recent Midway movie, rather than the original StarWars? 🤔
could it be that restrainig bolts for Battledroids are a bit more Complex as for Non Combat droids? I think i once read that some Combat / Assassin Droids are nearly immune to them. That may explain the reason you can't just remove it from ND-5.
Game developers are spoiled by the internet. Before the internet they needed to fix as many bugs as possible before release. Cause it would cost allot of money to buyback defective products and issue new copies. Now they can release unfinished games and bug riddled games and then just fix it after release.
I agree with all your points about stupid things, it's still been an entertaining series though. I can look past a bit of stupid if it's not me having to deal with it.
It is really kinda shocking to me...just how much pleasure I get from listening to The Mighty Jingles rhapsodize so eloquently about how bad the writing is in this game. He and I might disagree about what is and is not bad writing, but gods dammit, it is just so great to hear the way he describes the bad writing that he does criticize. 💯😁
To be fair, Star Wars lore isn't the most consistent to begin with. Taking some liberties with what was established in one of the movies because it's needed for the game's plot isn't that bad. Besides, it's possible there are different types of restraining bolts, and Jawas aren't exactly known for using the reliable, expensive stuff. Now for the other dumb stuff... Fixing a writing mistake can be pretty expensive. Especially if it involves voiced dialog. Most dev studios won't be willing to schedule and pay for a voice acting session just for small retakes, so if this sort of thing isn't spotted early, it's easier to just give up on it. I don't know how many beta readers large studios usually have to double-check their scripts, but my guess is "less than 1, and by the way the director wants this bit in".
Ubisoft releasing a game that needed 3 more months in the over? Never! (Never would I not believe that.) Jingles should stick to Russian Stealth. It's the only way to be sure. A protagonist (not hero) who pulls the "screwing up" thing pretty well is Suzuki Satoru aka Momonga aka Ainz Oal Gown aka Supreme One aka Strongest Magic Caster aka Momon, "Dark Hero" aka Sorcerer King aka King of Darkness aka Ain Bell Fior from Overlord. Internally he's just a normal dude who was the guildmaster in an MMORPG but got transfered to another world as his ingame avatar with his guild base and NPCs and now has to play the role of almighty and knowledgable overlord without any clue how to. And yet circumstances just play out in his favour (most of the time).
Whole game is bad (I have tried) , and seems there is no idea for Star Wars universe , Jedi: Fallen Order had potential but respawning enemies make game crap , as Star Wars fan I am disappointed 😔 , we need KOTOR 3 .
Set aside some stupidity Plotwise (it's Ubisoft, what do you expect?) and the not quite polished Game (again, Ubisoft) the one thing i do actually like is the Character Design. I mean, i genuinely consider Vess a really well written Character, with understandable flaws rooted in her Backstory, growing with time without ever becoming boring and "perfect".
I jusr love how Kay is in the midst of hundreds of guards and her comlink yells out some unnecessary comment from one of her 'allies', which should alert everyone within a 500yd radius, but no-one takes any notice!
29:41 it’s because the people writing this game no nothing about the classic Star Wars, more than that hate it. They like the crap Star Wars films Disney put out. The writers are so crap/lazy in this.
I think you are asking far too many questions for someone who has committed to playing this monstrosity. Have you considered hard abuse of alcohol prior to a session? X D
Bought this game, what a bugtastic POS. Textures and maps don't load in a timely manner, which will drop you through the floor to your death. Sometimes have to just stand there, in game, waiting for crap to load. Amazingly, this computer plays CP2077 with absolutely no issues, but this? This is just bad.
You know old man, I been watching you play games for a while now. This game in particular have I ever seen you get so agitated over frankly stupid narrative... That it even deters from someone that never even played the game to even bother trying it out. It's like this was written by some teenager writing their first Love Novel, except the approval was done by full blown adults paid in peanuts.
Jingles I believe that you are missing a crucial point of the story, Kay is the only one that has BROKEN INTO the vault. Yes, Asara was in the vault, but he was thrown into the vault he didn't walk in and then trap himself in the vault. The rebels met her outside the vault after she had DEACTIVATED the security system for them. Knowing the location of the vault and how to break in are two different things. I know where my town's bank is but does that mean I know how to open the bank vault, NO! Hey Jingles, why don't you take you own advice watch the movies yourself. Then you'll know the difference between R2D2 and C3PO compared to ND-5 Commando Combat Droid. One of them can disobey their master's orders but the other one can't. Would you like to take a guess? I feel that you are shitting on this game at times because it is a Ubisoft game. But when these same issues show up in games like Horizon Zero West you just happen to miss them. And as always why don't you make a game since you keep preaching that you can do better. And then watch as people find imperfections on it and shits on it.
Jingles trying hard to explain plot holes and truly awful script writing by ascribing it to dastardly characters lol. 17:15 you're spot on there Jingles lol (that's our world all over atm eg China will spend the same amount of time and resources etc making an object shaped like a functional tool or whatever, just for it to not even last a single use. They export landfill shaped like real products. They set up huge factories etc and go through all of the same steps, but instead of making it properly, they'll use a cheaper plastic or whatever. Then they export this landfill using shipping subsidised by their govt. It's such a massive waste of time and resources. Now that's what is unsustainable. When we make a product, it lasts for many use cycles, which is actually sustainable. But people buy junk made cheaper thanks to China playing dirty economic tricks with their shipping and environmental management or lack thereof. It's unsustainable, which is why their economy is starting to stagger along like a drunk on Saturday night meandering their way to the chip shop lol.) Disney could hire actual good writers, but they boast about hiring people specifically who know nothing about or actively dislike the franchise they're to be working on. They wonder why nobody likes the junk they've been farting out, hah!
I applaud your tenacity Jingles. Few mortals could withstand such a withering barrage. Personally, i folded after mere minutes and refunded this debacle. You do make this jetsam quite entertaining Never surrender.

Let jingles pay for the stupid but pretty games
They also have a DLC released.
What a terrible mother, and there are people out there like that
Mother of the year material right there!
Another great video.
the ignore function on steam for ubisoft works ok
It is really kinda shocking to me...just how much pleasure I get from listening to The Mighty Jingles rhapsodize so eloquently about how bad the writing is in this game. He and I might disagree about what is and is not bad writing, but gods dammit, it is just so great to hear the way he describes the bad writing that he does criticize. 💯😁
Jingles video!
Ocean’s Eleven meets Star Wars
Good stuff young fella! Keep up the good work.
Cheers from downunder.
The betrayal was so obvious it´s not even funny.
Are you asking questions again Jingles?
No notification for this one either.
Ubisoft releasing a game that needed 3 more months in the over? Never! (Never would I not believe that.)
Jingles should stick to Russian Stealth.
(In Hutees)
ISB
lol thanks for the translation.
Trust me... reminds me of Silas in Zero Dawn... lol same exact plot mechanic...
this game is ridiculous on every perspective ... lol
The story is so bad, I stick to classics like the reissued Riven or Skyrim. You comments are entertaining as ever.
Whole game is bad (I have tried) , and seems there is no idea for Star Wars universe , Jedi: Fallen Order had potential but respawning enemies make game crap , as Star Wars fan I am disappointed 😔 , we need KOTOR 3 .
Given where BioWare is right now, I think the KOTOR ship has sailed as well.
The only reason I'm watching these videos is for Jingles comments and infinite SW Universe nerdery! lol
Yep, rampant stupidity!
That ending was not a shocker.
Good morning Gnome Overlord. All the best.
im definitely going to pick this one up when its free on epicstore in a year or two
Overthinking one part of the story under thinking others to get mad about lazy writing, classic star wars fan reviewing plot
How are they explaining all that communication going back and forth and not being detected by scanners?
I jusr love how Kay is in the midst of hundreds of guards and her comlink yells out some unnecessary comment from one of her 'allies', which should alert everyone within a 500yd radius, but no-one takes any notice!
As with nearly all Star Wars products over the last 25 years, lazy wasted potential.
I agree that the writing isn't stellar but given the current state of Star Wars it's not bad when you compare it to Last Jedi.
Calling it at 11:43 There a doing transpiring
29:41 it’s because the people writing this game no nothing about the classic Star Wars, more than that hate it. They like the crap Star Wars films Disney put out. The writers are so crap/lazy in this.
Jingles will you play path of exile 2?
The writing is really dog in this mission. You pointed most of it out but why not execute that sliro? like wtf?
Watched and Liked 👍
"Rebellions need a lot more than hope."
That's a despicable dig against proven canon. Dump this shite game. Dump it like it's shite.
These games aren't designed for Navy veterans .. or boomers .. or anyone with a brain. Designed by kids for kids :D v
I mean, this is the Star Wars universe... it is a pile of fairy tales (and I am mostly just polite here), except Andor.
Why does gatekeeper Droid speak in huttese? Why do most of the people in the game speaks huttese even in other territories
So glad I gave this game a hard pass.
Garbage level game, fracking awesome commentary by the little gnome:)
Not only was all in this episode extremely predictable... it was stupid as all hell.
Thanks, Jingles.
I'll buy STALKER 2 instead
actually got in as it uploaded.
:)
It's unsustainable, which is why their economy is starting to stagger along like a drunk on Saturday night meandering their way to the chip shop lol.)
Disney could hire actual good writers, but they boast about hiring people specifically who know nothing about or actively dislike the franchise they're to be working on. They wonder why nobody likes the junk they've been farting out, hah!
I applaud your tenacity Jingles. Few mortals could withstand such a withering barrage. Personally, i folded after mere minutes and refunded this debacle. You do make this jetsam quite entertaining
Never surrender.
