If the AMP meter readings are reversed, ie neg for charge / pos for dis-charge. The wires are reversed on the amp meter. Swap them around. (Don't forget to disconnect the battery negative before doing this to prevent the angry pixies to escape!
My lawn tractor has been custom wired. One amp gauge lead goes to the hot side of the solenoid. I'm not sure where the other one should go as this tractor has a toggle ignition switch and a push button starter switch. Any help would be great!
Can you please tell how to wire the amp meter. I’ve got an old Cub Cadet 147 that I believe the wiring to the amp meter is wrong. It shows a positive charge when starting and while running a slight negative charge. I did not do the wiring but wonder if they could just be reversed on the meter? Thank you.

Your advice WORKED! When I looked at the wire connector plug's backside, no markings were found for each pin, i.e., Letters marked S, B, etc. Not on the pins or on the wire connector housing. The wiring diagram showed the key switch with the letters. I thought I was looking at the backside of the plug, not the actual key switch. Confusion. Your video would have been more helpful to me if you showed the color of the wire. Sorry, my fault. I did order that book! Thanks again for your help!!
