    I’ve been using a brightening concealer on the sides of my wide nose for a while and I’m always surprised that contouring tutorials never mention that. It slims your nose down way more than the pinstripe contour 🤷‍♀️

  • @leadragic5724
    @leadragic5724 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I actually do this for years because I like my nose to have some "sunkissed" color, I don't to the typical contouring that everyone else does! Love your tutorials and your take on make-up - a very intelligent and fresh approach!

    i noticed that too, noses are never ugly, shadows just accentuates the shape of them. this would make sense the most to artists i think.

I love your channel, I've always used blush on my temples & nose as well as my cheeks, I didn't understand why it balanced my face & I liked the look until you just explained the reason. the invisible seen Dude, if you saw my face you'd think "Well that girl has a pretty normal, average face. She's kinda pretty." But BOI did I saw some alien monster radio activity stricken creature in the mirror some years ago... I saw SO MANY THINGS about my face which I thought were super ugly and weird and I thought my face is just a really weird face, I thought it looked abnormal and frankly disgusting because of its features. Nowadays - my face is just the same, all those features are still there, but I see them much more differently. Now I like my face, of course everyone wants to look prettier and be like those photogenic models and celebrities, or like that one gorgeous friend, but just generally I like my face, I see the beauty in it beyond the features I don't like and I stopped thinking that those features I don't like are such a big deal.
      What helped me do that was to really examine other people's faces. First thing I did was, because I disliked my chin and had an ideal for a chin, I started looking at people's chins to see if I find my ideal chin anywhere. I never found it! I realized what I wanted for my chin was unrealistic... Most people have chins very similar to mine and I've seen only very few individuals who have it more like my ideal but not really, because that ideal is unrealistic. Second was my nose. My nose isn't very big but I sure disliked its size, I started looking at other people's faces very intentionally and asked myself first "do they have a big nose?" the answer was most often "no" and then "if I had their face, would I feel like my nose is big?" and I imagined having their face, looking in the mirror, etc., and very often I thought "oh my, why yes I would" for people for which I would have NEVER thought they have big noses. So I did that with a lot of features and just generally asked myself "if I had this person's face, what would I dislike" about people whose faces I really liked and I always found a couple of things pretty easily!
      This way I realized just how much of a power our mind has - just how much it matters on what we focus and what we pay attention too. I urge you to do this experiment yourself as well, or try to find your oen way in which you don't focus on the things you dislike and find a way to see the things you dislike through a different lense.
      Before, whenever I passed before the mirror, all the ugly features would spring up in my eyes, would stick out. Nowadays, as I pass the mirror, the things I like about my face spring up, and my eyes enjoy those, and that's that.
      Most people think they're much uglier than they really are. Truth is everyone has something beautiful about them and most people have a lot of beauty.
      I'm sorry this is so long and so preachy, I just really saw myself in your comment, how I felt some years ago... and that's why I REALLY wanted to share this. I know it's easier said than done, but please try it and I really hope it helps! ^^

    I've hated my nose for years! Even today , I searched for old pictures to see if it was always so big and proeminent 😢. The bridge is OK but when I smile it widens so much , I feel it is the worst facial feature someone can get. 😦 I always trust your makeup skills and I've been watching you for years, to me you are the smartest youtuber and not only that, but you can appreciate and see beauty in everything. I'm so happy when you post a new video! I've never found any videos on how to contour my type of nose... the tip is pretty big and upturned... the bridge is slim otherwise. I can't even find celebrities with similar noses. I'm not sure how to contour an upturned tip since if I do the instagrammy highlight-on-the-tip thing, it obviously looks even bigger

    Thank you, I appreciate your videos. My nose is wider and rounder towards the end, if I use the typical contouring technique it makes my nose look bigger, however, I noticed years ago that when my nose tans it looks smaller and not so round and bulbous at the end so I started applying bronzer or a dark contour powder down my nose towards the end and it really works better for me as appose to applying a light highlighter down the front and end like what most people do.
