Mia Farrow and Patti LuPone Reveal Their Worst Audience Stories - Late Night with Seth Meyers

Late Night with Seth Meyers
/ latenightseth
During college, back in the late '70s, had a friend who wrote a very nice letter to Patti while she was in Evita on Broadway. He and a friend were coming to see the show, he was interested in musical theater, etc. She wrote back and invited them to come backstage to see her after the show! They had a wonderful visit with Patti, and she was most gracious with her time and advice. A true legend!
Hi Patricia,
This is off-topic but my mother’s name was Patricia Morgan! What a lovely surprise to see your name here. All the best to you!
Mia got Cher's mouth.
@@c.taylormorgan3668 Thank you so much! It's those little surprises that can make your day, and you have made mine! Who knows, maybe we're distantly related, 'way back in time. All the best to you, too!
You have to love a Long Island girl!
@@badilladiego Yup, indeed! There was that connection as well.
Day Drinking with Seth and Patti LuPone. Let's make it happen.
YES. Maybe when Agatha comes out later this year? Make Marvel pay for it.
I DESPERATELY need that. It would be extra hilarious up at her house.
That’s maybe the best idea I’ve ever heard.
Hell, yes!
Yes!
One night, during Patti LuPone's run playing Mama Rose in Gypsy, a light bulb exploded during a scene set on a stage. While thankfully no one was injured, there were shards of gas scattered on the stage. Without missing a beat, she goes backstage, comes back with a push broom, and commences to clean up the shards while muttering about having to do everything herself around there! It was hilarious! 😂
I know he’s done this a bunch of other times (and might just be his regular wardrobe now) but there’s something comforting about Seth being in a sweatshirt/sweater(?) behind the desk rather than a suit and tie which tends to be more common for late night talk show hosts. Cant quite put my finger on it, but I like it.
Seth is the casual afterparty when the real fun begins !
No ties allowed .
I prefer the suit/tie maybe because Seth just looked younger in those days, and I hate having to think about me getting old :)
@@SniffyPoo💯‼️
Oh yeah, I agree totally. I think it began during/post Covid, along with growing out his hair. Suits (no pun intended) him perfectly.
Videos of Patti LuPone yelling at rude crowd members are my favorite.
Right there with you!
She can be an angry person who uses F bombs on every other sentence.
I was kind of hoping Patti would revisit The whole " STOP TAKING PICTURES RIGHT NOW, WHO.DO.YOU.THINK.YOU.ARE?! " Incident at Gypsy. Lol
I read somewhere that the woman taking photos who she screamed at was actually a professional photographer hired by the production. She apologized after the fact, but the recording lives on. That's why she never brings it up in interviews.
@@bnorem09 THAT'S RIGHT! I totally forgot about that! Lol
Patti is THE ICON! I know she had a horrible experience with Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber, but I saw her in the ORIGINAL Evita with Mandy Patankin and I will ALWAYS remember her for that more than anything else I've seen her in. she was so young, and SO powerful and amazing! She commanded that stage like she had already won 5 Tony awards! She has every right to be a little cocky.
I got to see Patti in Sunset Blvd. just before she was fired. She played it pretty straight with not much campy humor but she still managed to blow the roof off the theatre and give an unforgettable performance along with a standing ovation. Shame on Lloyd Webber!
@@Est-os9yc You actually are correct and I appreciate your kindness on correcting me. And what's worse, is I knew that. DAMN! Thanks though!!!!!!
Patinkin
She was THE best Eva Peron and Norma Desmond. Nobody else comes close.
wait, Patti Lupone did Audrey's laundry? These legends are, well, legends.
Seth, the real nice guy of late night.
I live on a 44 foot sailboat in Honolulu. Every full moon we sailed off Waikiki to watch the moon ascend. It was SO bright!
This right here. Seth, this is a masterclass on doing a thoroughly entertaining, well-researched, delightful interview with two absolute legends. No one else in the talkshow world could do this as well as you, Seth. You made it all about Mia and Patti, and it was clear that you were knowledgeable about their amazing lives and excited about their visit. This is so rare to see on television or anywhere today. I am grateful for your talents.
I have always thought he is the best interviewer on late night. I will say that Colbert is a close second, but nobody does it better than Seth.
Agreed. I like Seth best. Colbert is very good as well. I like Jimmy K for a bit of fun. Never watch Jimmy F.
@@bbcbbc1717 I feel the same. Jimmy Kimmel is great with the monologue, not a fan of the “ on location stuff “, but his delivery of the monologue is right up there. He lacks a bit of depth with his interviews, but because he is in L. A. he gets some of the best guests first. Just love Seth, and Stephen.
I miss Patti LuPone so much ❤❤❤
"But he had to see Maria Calas!" Patti's the best! I wonder if the audience even knows Masterclass or Maria Calas.
absolutely love seeing Mia Farrow back in the spotlight
Same!
You like seeing a lying sociopath who abused her kids and broke up marriages? Okay then.
Yeah, after she's been lying to everyone about Woody Allen after defending her own brother who was a real convicted child abuser and abusing her own kids causing one to commit suicide. But yeah great to see her. Ugh! 😒
@@davidfilmexpertWho's perfect, honey? Some of us still think it's cool to see her. You don't have to.
A testament to a life well lived, in spite of obstacles. These ladies still look truly cute!
🤔
What obstacles did Mia Farrow have?
I would love to see a conversation between Patti LuPone and Aubrey Plaza.
Two beautiful and very extraordinary talents. It was wonderful seeing them both.
Well, one at least. The other is a lying, narcissistic sociopath who needlessly destroyed the lives of several of her kids as well as the reputation of the only director who would put her in his movies.
I watched a raccoon fight a skunk over a seagull corpse for 15 minutes straight the last time I stayed up to see the full moon. Romance is everywhere.
Damn! I wish I could've been there with you. 😍 Who won, btw? 🦝or🦨?
Nature is beautiful.
Mia’s moon party sounds amazing. Guess she doesn’t do it anymore from the sound of it? Hope she is, though.
Nah, definitely not doing anymore now that her child molester brother she defended was paroled and released from jail and she's been emotionally abusing her kids for years.
What an honor to sit with them! Idk what I'd do if I was sitting across from Mia Farrow. I mean, wow 🤩
Ohhhh, I just finished the video and yeah definitely I'd have a heart attack, too!
Gawd, I would have to ask Mia if her son Ronan Farrow was fathered by Frank Sinatra.
@@RobertJohnson-bj5lkI dunno, Ronan looks so much like Woody Allen, I doubt it
@@archmage_of_the_aether bwahahahahahaahaaa!!!
Do some research into her entire life. She's absolute, unmitigated garbage.
Seth (to Mia): "Do you think it's because of how good you were?"
Patti (without missing a beat): "HA!"
I just love that woman!!!!!!!!!!!
There is just no way Mia is 79 years old.
she has had lots of work done. But yeah, looks good
@@mollieanne Yep and she's lying to everyone about Woody Allen when she's been psychologically abusing her own children for years. UNBELIEVABLE
Hard to believe that Mia Farrow got married to Frank Sinatra almost 60 years ago.
I love Mia’s performance in Death on the Nile. 👍🏻
Mia Farrow in The Haunting of Julia was perfection.
I love Mia's performance in Allen v. Farrow actually trying to convince us Woody Allen is an abuser when she emotionally abused her own children for years. Greatest performance. 👌
@@davidfilmexpertwow. You seem to be very convinced that Woody Allen is innocent. I don’t know for sure but I did watch the documentary and her daughter…not Mia..but the daughter…seemed to indicate Woody abused her. Also, isn’t it a bit weird that Woody married his MUCH younger, adopted daughter? I guess only God knows for sure.
@@jgator6694 Oh you mean that one-sided documentary that didn't prove anything. Also do you know that Mia defended her brother who was sent to jail for molesting two boys and was paroled the day that documentary was released. You also didn't seem to watch Moses Farrow's videos where he talked about the abuse he and his siblings suffered at the hands of Mia. Do your research.
@@davidfilmexpert I wouldn’t say the documentary is “one sided”. Siblings..family friends ..all observed that Woody was “smothering” Dylan…always following her…taking her off to be alone when she wanted to play with other children…they witnessed her hiding from him when he would visit..and withdrawing emotionally when he was around. And Dylan herself recalls these events. I have done my research.
It's not hard to be a good audience member. Turn off your phone, don't crinkle your wrappers, don't drink, and do not talk or sing along. Not hard. If you can't sit through a two and a half hour show without drinking or your phone, seek help.
I completely agree. I've been in an audience where this woman took off her shoes!!! C'mon!!! Eeeeeww
@@rick90604whittier No.
As a life long lover of Broadway and a life long poor person this is the one show I would genuinely sell my soul to see.
Seth Meyers is an adorable cute guy ❤
I love the way Patti is dressed.
Their energy is palpable, they need to be regulars
I feel like I’m chilling w all three of them, not forced promotions and regurgitated stories.
Thank you for having our two iconic leads on your show, Seth! 💖 So excited for previews to begin next week!
Damn, I thought Streisand's nose was bad.
I'm so excited to see these two legends in a few weeks! 🎭
Well one legend the other one Mia Farrow is an abuser and liar who abused her children for years. So don't get your hopes up!
I'm crushing on Patti in a suit again 😭
Adorable!
So cool to see those two working together... Bravo!
Oh this was terrific! Love them. I would love to see this play!
Dream blunt rotation
I so want to see this. Love Patti and long time fan of Mia = dynamite them both together.
Patti was gorgeous during her 1980 Evita period on Broadway.
Just watched Shadow & Fog! I love Mia😻
Mia Farrow! i loved you in the last unicorn!
Mia Farrow! I loved you when you lied about Woody Allen, defended your sex offender brother and psychologically abused your children for years! 😒
Absolute legends!
Love Mia and Patti
Not easy to remain at this level in your mid/late 70s..
No kidding.
Welcome back Yellow Diamond 💎
I cannot see Patty Lupone and not say
“SHUT UP PATTY LUPONE” IYKYK.
😆
remind me?
I love both those women so much 😘😘😘😘😘😘
Patti is correct we DO adore you
Damn, Patti Lupone rocks a seersucker suit better than anyone I’ve ever seen.
Mia Farrow really has a cool NYC Patti Smith look going on.
😂😂😂😂
MIA is lovely - every 79-year-old woman should look like this ...
Evita and Rosemary.
We love mia farrow and patti lupone
Whoever chose that thumbnail pic did Patty DIRTY
Mia didn't get to talk at alll... and she's the reason I watched...
❤ Mia Farrow
Mia still hanging on her look from 35 years ago poor thing
I thought Patti had quit Broadway?!
I have always loved Mia Farrow. She always came across as kind and sweet… Because she is.😊❤
She is not kind.
@@Ausgar-yc1yl You could say that again. She has no place in polite society after defending her brother convicted of child sex abuse and she's physiologically abused her own children for years.
Patti LuPone has great Broadway news for how she treats disrespectful audience members. Mia had 2 people get heart attacks while working? So have I.
Patti is going to totally dominate the stage in this production....
No, that's not good advertisement for the show because then the seats will be filled with criminals.
You can add your own british crime wave joke here if you're into that
Money is not as tight as Mia's face.
❤️
Of course it's August 29th, if you just say the 29th, it's the 29th of the same month, so you owe Wally an apology!
It's a throwback to his bit with Wally earlier in a closer look. Wally missed putting the month in for something coming up in late September. Play it again and notice how he stressed August like he was making a point.
@@likebot. Yep. that's what I am calling back to, the cue card didn't have a month on it because the play premieres in August - so no month needed.
Classic Seth wally. Keeper
@@baroquejen OK, earlier Seth doubled down on September, but I see. However, the video would be less evergreen without mentioning the month.
My Diamond
Mia? Could you be more awkward?
Patty can't seem to get settled...feet not able to touch floor🤔.. overboard with how she/they love
Seth..did like her audience story and appreciated it not being about being rude with ettiquette...and interesting outfits...esp. Mia -
Weird comment.
The video thumbnail showing Patti's side profile is terrifying
Joaquin and Gaga have seriously aged.
You're crazy thank you 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
Humans do that especially if they don’t get fillers, Botox or facelifts.
not one but two cluster Bs
Mia Farrow and son are destructive whacked-out mental cases who I avoid like the plague. They need help, and we need not to be exposed to either of them which is why I refused to watch this show when aired or even this clip. Talk about "dead to me."
First I thought Mia Farrow was that women's soccer lady from the 2000s and then I went no no no no no that's the Irish actor with a nice head of hair and mustache and that's Colin Farrell so I yeah I don't know who Mia Farrow is but I like them
Mia is not a good person
Am I the only one who saw the video thumbnail, and for a moment, thought it was The Joker and The Scarecrow?
Patti lapone lol. Madonna upstaged herlol
That image of this post of Patti looks like the penguin on Batman ! The one played by Danny Devito
Face so pointed you feel it hit you from across the room
Boring.
Wow...AWFUL
Not cool to have a union scab on your show.
Firstly, how is she a scab? And secondly, Patti had been with Actors Equity for decades and it has been known to be a pretty problematic union.
@@allenn.3909 I know the Equity has issues, I used to be a member. She did a big tantrum and quit a year ago, now she's back on Broadway without rejoining. What she could have done is used her power to try to fix the problems in Equity.
Seth, the real nice guy of late night.
