It should be giving him the zweihander as that's what he mentions looking for on floor 1. He did mention on floor 5 in dialogue about giving a coin (but nothing went into my inventory) so I don't know if the coin can be obtained there even if you didn't get the zweihander. And no problem, good luck finishing the game!
It's a lot of fun and when I tried this while streaming I didn't get very far (died after a good bit of time on Floor 1 and learned the game saves at the start of the floor) but it got me very interested in learning the game. UFO 50 is a really good collection of games and I haven't touched most of them.
One big problem with many older fantasy games is you didn't get to see your new weapons and armor equipped on your character. I love how they show it here. Makes you feel like you're becoming more powerful.
@@avalonjustin If the (fictional) devs for this game had wanted to make it more authentically like a mid-80s game, but had wanted to make the player character change to reflect the power of their equipment, then they could've lazily swapped the palettes for the player's gear in an effort to save on graphics ROM space. Then again, this game could've been (fictionally) released right around the time that Punch Out was released in real life, so bank switching could've been a commonly used feature by then that would've expanded sprite sheets to as big as the ROM space would've allowed. Edit: Nevermind. I see that they made armor sprites that are palette swaps, which applies to the bronze and iron plate armors.
@@ShadowWolfTJC Yeah you're exactly right, the developers would have added details like that in older games but the memory limitations wouldn't allow it.
Thanks for the video, I'm on floor 4 and was having issues with the boss. I had no clue you could just skip it with the invisible spell. Also, I realized I missed obtaining the Red Star Sword on level 3. Do you think I should restart the playthrough to get it?
Thanks! @@CrankyTemplarThis one has probably been my favorite on the collection. So far the only games I've beaten is Party House and Night Manor. Hoping to get this one or Pilot Quest done next
How did you like Party House? I've only 100% completed Night Manor which was the entire reason I picked up UFO 50 and so far I've been pleasantly surprised by the few other games I've played (with Valbrace really sticking out as awesome).
I tried to put the coin in a fountain on floor 6 for honor and it didn’t work. The fountain told me i didn’t need honor. Talking to the red knight didn’t do anything. Transformation still worked on the fountain though. I just did it on the 3rd floor and the same thing happened. Wtf
You're supposed to have the red star sword equipped when you fight the final boss for the good ending. It bugged out for me and gave it despite using the rapier.
@@CrankyTemplar gotcha, i knew there was some way to overcome the gaps or poison, only like an hour into the game on floor 3 somewhere i think in the hive, def a cool lil game
This game interested me as soon as I saw it. Always been a big fan of old fantasy RPG's!
Every time I kill one of those purple bats, sounds like I just killed a kitten 😕

Hey Mr. Templar, do you know how many stuff you need to give to the red knight for him to give you the coin? Thanks, your video helped me a lot!

@@CrankyTemplar I'm about to fihish it but will start it again and keep the zweihander, I was a fool and got rid of it. Thank you!

You should be able to still get the sword on Floor 5 or 6. Just be sure to use the coin on a healing fountain or you'll waste it.

You need to make sure it's a healing fountain. Poison ones won't work for giving honor.
wait so how do you get the good ending vs the normal ending?
