I've seen bow-and-arrows made from materials that had been seasoned for a generation or two, but this is the first time that I witnessed them made from green wood. -- I was surprised to see four lashings holding together an entire raft. -- Very educational. Thanks for the great video!
Its good to see a man who knows how to handle an axe. When using that pole to launch his raft he looks farther away than you would think because that pole touched that small branch in front of the camera and broke a piece off. I thought maybe 40 or 50 ft. but what do I know..

the way you work wood is amazing ,Australian aboriginals use heat to straiten wood for spears and to bend wood for making boomerangs .they use returning boomerangs to hunt over water ,not all boomerangs return .have you ever tried making one i recon you have the skills needed.this only second vid i seen of yours but i will watch more.i personally work steel but love it all the same

Мужик, так ты наш , русский брат, а я все гляжу, да гляжу ну думаю крутой парняга, такой выживальщик есть же силища на свете ... инностранец наверное, не бельмечет ни разу... , а ты вонано СВОБОДУ напмсал на чистом русском аж чуть с дивана не упал блин... ну держи брат пять , я тоже выживальщик (диванный правда) но тожеть кое чо умею, стрелять с лука осваиваю вот....
Наоборот,лишь когда высохнет и будет работать нормально)А для некоторых пород после сушки полезно ещё живот прожарить до потемнения древесины. Хороший лук из вяза,ясеня,акации и пр. выдает скорость 155 - 165 фпс при стреле 10 гран на фунт натяжения. Тисовый лук покажет примерно такие же характеристики. Это очень хороший материал,но переоценивать его тоже не стоит.

@@twintwo1429 your theory is wrong my friend, Stilliyan is a enthusiast of native american archery, he is displaying a plains indian bow which were very commonly heat bent into reflexes and bends to create the gullwing shape, the barrel hoop points he made and the method are also a plains indian thing as well as the length of the bow. The gullwing or double curve bow was the most popular in north america, being used by plains, midwest, dessert, plateu as well as woodlands tribes(to an extent) , it must have some definite benefit in performance and durabillity since it is soo popular, much more popular than recurved bows in north america

I cut green staves and force dry them over fire . Make them a little longer for when the ends crack and you’re golden . Fire harden them after drying

Благодаря! Лъкът е сух. Суших го 6 часа на огъня. Ако не е сух няма да има достатъчна сила и ще се амортизира доста.
