Matthew Trujillo fighting skill isn’t really something you quantify and categorize; it’s all based on the individuals’ abilities and feats accomplished. Here Barbossa, Will and Elizabeth are kicking ass (especially Barbossa who was effortlessly defending against the blades of a sea monster and EITC soldier)
Every second of this scene is Disney at its best, and I feel like Disney movies like this aren’t really being made anymore these days. The action and romance combined with that wonderful soundtrack encapsulates everything I loved about Disney when I was a kid, and still love today as an adult.
I have learned to appreciate Barbosa over the years, growing up and understanding the various dynamics and lives of a pirate, if I hated him as a child, now he is one of my favorite characters. And yes, he deserves much more appreciation and attention. (yes, I replied a year later 😅)
I want my wedding to be with me and my fiancé on a pirate ship, sword fighting fish men, during a glorious battle, in a giant storm, and being married by a badass pirate
interesting thing: Barbossa met Margaret (Carina´s mother) after this battle. Now imagine Barbossa as we knew him from the first movie: coldhearted pirate, who literally didn´t feel a thing. Killed by Jack with Will´s help. Returned to bring back Jack with Will´s help and fight for pirates as one of their lords. And after all that he found... love? I mean. He actually stayed with the woman long enough to know, that they had a daughter and that Margaret died. Then he tried to save that one daughter from himself. It might seem as Will and Elizabeth had an impact on an old man - luckily, for their own son as well :)
You know, Disney could spend years continuing Pirates of the Caribbean, and they would still never be able to come even close to the sheer awesomeness of the original trilogy. Especially with this final battle between the Flying Dutchman and the Black Pearl. This fight was so worth the wait, and the fact that it's the moment when Will and Elizabeth finally come together and get married just makes it all the better. And I just love the scenery that's done in this moment. The choreography of Will and Elizabeth fighting as they're saying their vows, the chaos and the carnage in the background, with Barbosa just being an epic badass cutting down British soldiers and keeping Jones's henchmen at bay while watching over this wedding, and then to have the icing on the cake, Pintell and Ragetti getting the chance to see the kiss at the end. Also, Ragetti's smile is so adorable, I can't help but just start laughing. The original trilogy had something truly special when it was released. It was a cohesive flowing story from one film to the next that allowed each character to have individuality, to have purpose and meaning, and to not feel like some cardboard cut-out two dimensional stick of wood. The lighting, the aesthetics, the music, the choreography were all perfect in every way, and the three films had two of the best villains in cinematic history for their times. No one can ignore that before he became one of the most liked antiheroes in the franchise, Barbosa was just an absolutely terrifying villain, and he epitomized the term pirate, with both his demeanor, acting, movement, and the sheer level of ruthlessness he displayed towards his enemies, and even towards his own crew. I mean, come on, he shot Ragetti in the chest to determine if the curse was broken. If that's not a man that deserves both respect and fear, then I don't know what the hell is. And then comes in Davy Jones himself, the man, the myth, the legend. The man responsible for giving Jack Sparrow a second chance at life and making him captain of the Black Pearl. Nevermind the fact that he had control of an undead fish crew, he had control over the sea's most deadly creature, the Kraken. Davy Jones was perhaps one of the most terrifying villains of the early 2000s, and it wasn't just the fact that Bill Nighy created this truly monstrous performance, but it was also the fact that to Jones, death was something that came for everyone, and there was no escape, other than to serve time on the Dutchman. He pushed aside all thoughts of morality, decency, and human emotions, because he was no longer human. He was a monster doomed to live the life of a ferryman shepherding lost souls at sea to the other side of death. So, as a character, he not only embodies empathy, but also fear, and respect. He's a complex and though-provoking character. I often wonder, why can't there be more films like the original POTC trilogy? Why do villains and main characters these days have to be one dimensional and inspire thoughtfulness in the audience?

The "You may kiss" followed by Barbossa pulling out a flintlock, blasting a man and maniacally laughing is the funniest fucking thing ever
Let's take a moment to recognize that Barbarossa is as crucial to these movies as Jack himself.
He is
I love how Barbossa knew all the lines to say, considering he’d be more likely to rob a wedding then be in one.
This says a lot about how bad the people they're fighting are
ToadoftheHeavens well if they can manage to get married during the fight then yeah the people they’re fighting suck
Cat Queen Nah Will is the best swordsman in the franchise and he trained Elizabeth so they just kick ass at fighting
@@matthewtrujillo3309 jack, salazar and davy jones are better than him
@@serbronnofhighgarden3815 Will beat Jack who won his own duel with Jones in the third one, so he is obviously better than them both of them
Matthew Trujillo fighting skill isn’t really something you quantify and categorize; it’s all based on the individuals’ abilities and feats accomplished. Here Barbossa, Will and Elizabeth are kicking ass (especially Barbossa who was effortlessly defending against the blades of a sea monster and EITC soldier)
"I'M A LITTLE BUSY AT THE MOMANT!!!!!!"
Barbossa's face really was like "THEY DECIDE TO DO THIS NOW?????"
I love her excitement in her "I do!"
And his: "Great!"
Almost as good as the classic:
"I love you" & "I know"
"Elizabeth Swann do you take me to be your husband"
"I do"
"great" 😂😂😂
This scene is:
Epic
Funny
And romantic all at the same time
Every second of this scene is Disney at its best, and I feel like Disney movies like this aren’t really being made anymore these days. The action and romance combined with that wonderful soundtrack encapsulates everything I loved about Disney when I was a kid, and still love today as an adult.
Can we talk about Will’s face at 1:06 ?😅 when he says “I’ve made my choice, what’s yours?” And Elizabeth just goes “BARBOSA!” He’s like “BiTcH WhAt”
“Was he- was he even an option?!”
Barbossa was having the time of his life during the battle
There will never be a better wedding scene in movie history. Such an underrated movie. Definitely my personal favorite out of all five.
It’s definitely the best of the 5
Probably the number 1 most badass wedding
If there's a msmojo for top 10 most badass movie weddings, this better be on the list and number one, no honorable mention.
"now may be the only time"😭 that brought me many tears
I love the hand thing Elizabeth does when she says, “do you take me to be your wife” and then the twirl right after.
I love the way he says “I’m a little busy at the moment!” God Geoffrey Rush is a treasure!!
“I’m a little busy at the moment!” Look at his eyes XD
Dream marriage🤘😂😍
Elizabeth swann do you take me to.be your husband will.turner I do great will.turner do you take me be your wife
@sarah junjr so you want to be married on a pirate ship while fighting off borders in the middle of a storm
@Sarah JuNJR Me too! Let's do it together!
@@tahunkwai5979 that's how I want my marriage to be
Seriuosly: this is the most GENUINE marriage in film's history
1:52 that “Great” was so precious. Idc what anyone says, when I get married I’m simply saying “Great”
the combination of Jack , Will, Elizabeth is what made the first 3 POTC good and the story telling. Will and Elizabeth is the heart.
Where's Barbossa?
@@rising_fredo_pixel unfortunately he wasn't in the second movie(not counting the one line in the end). He was replaced with Norrigton in the crew.
THIS is the type of love I want.
Me too. Without the part where I'm cursed to not moor for 10 years
Easily one of my favorite scenes in the whole series..
Awwww look, it's their first fight as a married couple
1:02 Will’s face when she says BARBOSSA is so funny!! He’s got the biggest WTF face in existence!
0:01 what an incredibly epic shot right there
This is how I want to be married. Crossing swords with cursed pirates. This is the most romantic wedding in film. You can't change my mind.
This scene is iconic af.
This has got to be the strangest yet funny movie wedding scene I have ever seen!
So it would seem.
@@NCL_2000 It's not every day you see a wedding with a battle going on in the middle of it. We need more of those.
Jack is a great character and all, but Barbossa deserves so much more love than he gets!
I have learned to appreciate Barbosa over the years, growing up and understanding the various dynamics and lives of a pirate, if I hated him as a child, now he is one of my favorite characters. And yes, he deserves much more appreciation and attention. (yes, I replied a year later 😅)
This part always warms my heart and makes me teary eyed, took three films and they finally married
Me too!
I want my wedding to be with me and my fiancé on a pirate ship, sword fighting fish men, during a glorious battle, in a giant storm, and being married by a badass pirate
Still a better love story than titanic
EVERYTHING is a better love story than Titanic.. in my opinion haha
Caelyn Walton-Macaulay No it wasn't.😂
Aman brother
J W Spoiler, the ship sinks in the end.
Caelyn Walton-Macaulay Hell no.
Well, then Turner and Barbossa is a family now
interesting thing: Barbossa met Margaret (Carina´s mother) after this battle.
@@MSephirroth beautiful!
@@MSephirroth hmmm
haha 😂 Will's face when she screams "Barbossa!" like he's just "wait what since when was he an option wtf?!"
1:36 "DEARLY BELOVED WE BE GATHERED HERE TODAY" lol this part kills me for so many reasons
-I've made my choice, what's yours ?
- BARBOSA!!
Proof that even when the world comes to an end, love still prevails
2:50 I love how Hans Zimmer was able to transition the music from action to romance to fit the scene
Wow, great analysis, I agree with everything you said, we need this kind of stories back
This is by far the best PotC movie, and one of my favorite scenes
For sure!
