I was browsing online and came across this game design sketches. The developers were originally planning on these enemies to be in all the platforming levels. I assume surely in the Bakini Bottom level the enemies were neutral and wouldn't attack you as they had no reason to. But in Planktopolis, the missing enemies like Flingers would probably be OP as heck. And then there was a King Neptune Castle level but I understood why they deleted it. Neither SpongeBob or Patrick was there unless you're playing as the main antagonist Plankton who steals the crown

*Flinger = Chuck + Slick
*Spinner = G-Love
*Popper = Arf
*Merv = Moonsoon + Sleepy Time
and jellyfish are worth points in the movie and in bfbb worth nothing
+burger tank popper has a little bit of tar tar

Slammer: Ham-Mer
Flinger: Chuck with a dash of Slick and Tubelets
Spinner: G-Love
Popper: Tar-Tar
Mni-Merv: Sleepy Time
Merv: Sleepy Time + Chuck
The only bots not reused are Arf, Bzzt-Bot, Bomb-Bot and Monsoon
Mini-Merv is like that while regular merv is + also Chuck in that

And that The cactus was it going to the bathroom
I haven’t a clue why but yeah
Merv was terrifying even coming back to the game I remembered why I had a troubled time beating the game

They should of put a cutscene in "Welcome to Planktopolis Minions" where patrick tries to attack an enemy or activates a switch from a long distance, demonstrating SpongeBob's Sonic Wave power!!
The only way that would work with the rest of the cutscenes would be if Patrick fried to rolls a ball towards the MERV unit and it was reflected. (Explaining that the spongebowl is useless against them.) Then he does some sort of ranged attack that somehow involves air, which ques in the sonic guitar usage.

Personally, I think I liked the enemy design in BFBB better. I felt it made a bit more sense and was a bit more unified.
That’s understandable, though I always liked how varied the designs for each level were.
