My tip is to look at the accommodation style that suits your personality. As an introvert, the hotel trips are a massive blessing. I just can't be around people all day and then sleep in a multi share room all night lol
Contiki Europe in the summer trip too, I wore dresses every day and wish I'd brought more instead of so many shorts and tops. It was just so hot that shorts felt really clingy and ick
I'd also suggest budgeting an unrealistically large amount so nothing feels expensive. We had so many people (mostly the really young ones) complaining about the cost of buying lunches and snacks but for those of us who had a bit of money, that just wasn't a worry

I love these tips!! Exactly the same with money, always try save way more than you think you’ll need!

Thankyou so much for these tips, I’m doing Sweet as South in July! I just have a question- I chose Sweet as South for the beautiful scenery of the south island rather than the adrenaline activities, did people just explore the city if they weren’t doing the activities?

That is so exciting!! You’ll love it. I know some that just explored the town (Queenstown) and went on hikes in the other areas! But there is still lots to do that isn’t so adrenaline filled! The good thing about Sweet as South is you can tailor it to how you like!
