I'm not sure what time of year you're going, but i went in August, recommend having a warm jacket for wind/rain/nights. If you're doing a ski/snowboard extra for a day, you can rent snow clothes that's apart of the package. I cant really remember how much I spent honestly, but give yourself at least $500 for additional activities on the contiki (sky dive, rafting, luge, bungee, ski, tours etc). Do as many extras as you can! So worth it. Money for alcohol if you drink because everyone goes out almost nightly haha. You'll get lots of meals/breakfast covered in the tour so just have a bit of spending money for other food also Don't pack too heavy. You'll spend the most nights in queenstown which has washing machines in the hostel and the shared rooms are super cramped so it's just easy not to have big bags... Earbuds recommended, you could have up to 8 people in a room lol.
