Link Click S2 in my opinion has got the most unique OP this season. I mean not only are the visuals and animation insane but the way the song (which is banger itself) is used in the OP is genius. Halfway through the OP, the song is reversed yet it STILL sounds like fire! Also I think Garnt is slowly losing his mind again getting sucked into the seasonal animesphere. And who can't blame him? After all the bangers we got last season, the bangers we got this season would make anyone lose their minds lol
Jujutsu Kaisen has one of the best OPs this year so glad I got to remix it first hand, I can't really seem to find any anime songs that fit my vibe but this one defo did
Zom 100 just blew me away in just 1 episode. Most of the staff like the director himself and some key animators came from the team that worked on the Komi-san adaptation of OLM Studio. You can actually kinda feel the same vibe in terms of overall production quality. I also love how they throw in a couple easter eggs referencing (and throwing shade lol) at OLM. 😂
I can't tell you how much I love and look forward to these reviews. There is so much new anime now I get lost and have no idea where to start. These really help me find the good ones from the bad or just my preferred shows instead of having to waste my time browsing through endless covers.

GOD DAMN! my happy marriage.. hot damn am I hooked. So many emotions (and tears..), they did an amazing job absolutely nuking you with emotions in just 2 episodes. I'm really looking forward to more episodes. Also the voice actor for miyo really nails her character.
I absolutely loved Oshi No Ko’s Outro being used there. The orchestral portion of that song was one of my favorite ways to end an anime episode on in years.

I really got to thank Scamboli reviews for showing us the Helck manga, it was definitely one hell of a journey reading through it with a great ending and the fact that it now has an anime adaptation is just the cherry on top :D
Zom100 has been amazing so far. Each episode has been a delight, story and direction wise. Must recommend. Helck has been like a blast to the past. Everything about it screams 90's anime.
The live action movie on the other hand.... Idk it wasnt too bad... But it was rushed as f*ck They adapted things that the anime has not adapted yet, and the movie is only 2 hours long
I think we're glossing over how Rudeus is treating Roxy's panties. No, I'm serious. I actually think it's really cool how they started as an object of lust but turned into a genuine memento of the fondness he has for his tutor. Obviously, the wand he received from her would one day have to be discarded because it was first and foremost an object of utility, but the panties now serve no purpose _but_ to remind him of someone he cares about.
"Reborn as a Vending Machine" has strong "Reincarnated as a Sword" vibes. I didn't have any faith in those series before watching and now they rank among some of my favorite Isekai ever.

dark gathering is actually proving to be pretty good! Yayoi (and now Eiko) unnerve me, but in an occasionally cute way for the former, and a hot way for the latter. as a guy who isn't really scared by body horror, this does a really good job of making me go "holy shit".
Really appreciate videos like these to help me narrow down the shows most likely worth the watch since so freaking many anime come out each season. I'm usually busy with school and work and just want a good show to watch when I have time to relax.

I was sad not to see Heretical Princess on the list. I like that it's taking a different approach to the otome villainess story arc. Instead of "avoid my doom" it's "avoid becoming the murderous hell bitch". So far it's pretty good.

As good as it is, after 115 chapters, it’s… exactly as good. I have read dozens of isekai Light Novels and Vending Machine is the all-time champion at consistency. It’s a solid B to B+ for three seasons’ worth of source material, even though I’m pretty sure we’ll only get one.
It's interesting to see the products and history of vending machines. There's that one that gave out air. Everything else about the show is generic and dumb.
yeah it's on the better part of the isekai where he's not overpowered, has a few basic skills but works his way to higher ends also one where he cant save everyone and that motivates him to better himself, which is great compared to the "oops he died, welp someone else is gonna fix this" kind

I NEED something where they get stronger by either overcoming emotional or physical hurdles. Honestly I didn't know anything about zom 100, I didn't read the manga or anything all I did was see the trailer and was interested and god damn I was under prepared, I feel as if each frame is going into each other nicely while also progressing the story at a good pace

Gigguk perfectly captured my feelings about Jobless Reincarnation. One scene he's being absolutely badass and wrecking shit, next scene he's praying to underwear. And just when I think, alright, fine, this is too yucky for me, they pull out some fire animated sequence that makes me remember why I started watching it in the first place.
That's exactly why I hate that fucking series. There's so, _so_ much talent on hand for it - even the characterization for both S1 and 2 are great. And then it's just offset by the worst, most degenerate fucking bullshit. It's the worst. The worst thing about it is that it never, ever, _ever_ changes that. Rudeus will always be the worst.

And in terms of anime age and re-incarnation and stuff people trying to weaponize the ages as an argument need to decide on a side. Is it a physical think or a mental thing? Anime plays both sides. It's basically Reudeus is ok or the 9000 year old loli vampire is ok. Either your mental age determines how you should be judged or your physical appearance. Can't have it both ways. And if its mental age is it absolute age that matter or emotional maturity? My problem is that people never draw consistent lines on this kinda stuff. They pick and choose and flipflop and IMO that tells me people have no clue where the line is but are all just BSing to try and moralize online.

Also, in the Non-Isekai Fantasy Triumvirate of 2023 (Frieren, Dungeon Meshi, Helck) Helck was the only one where failure seemed reasonably likely. I'm in full blown "incautiously optimistic" mode.

Man I’m so hyped for Helck finally getting a spotlight. I can hardly wait for the humor and overwhelming crush of depression and wholesomeness packed in an unassuming comedy
The dreaming boy is a realist is an romance anime I genuinely enjoy; it’s not necessarily playing fully into the “realistic romance” sub genre, but it definitely takes some aspects from it that make the MC relatable in some aspects. I personally can relate to the idea of looking down on yourself and being fed up with the idea of having a crush, I think many of us can, so I’m curious to see how this anime approaches this. I don’t expect it to be ground-shaking or tear-jerking, but just relatable while retaining some of the goofy aspects of a high school romance anime.
My top favorites so far has been "Masterful Cat is depressed again today" and "Zom 100: Bucket List of the dead" I need to watch most of the others on this list, but I agree with how you feel about "My Unique skill makes me OP even at level 1" and "The Great Cleric" so far they haven't really wow-ed me.
Synduality Noir is an odd one. It's a pile-up of mecha influences, but the prevailing vibe is Eureka Seven of all things. Might be worth giving a few episodes if that's your jam.
It's been so long since I watched/read any shoujo but my happy marriage got me so hooked. Ep4 made me cry and there are scenes in the manga that got me sobbing as well.

I really got to thank Scamboli reviews for showing us the Helck manga, it was definitely one hell of a journey reading through it with a great ending and the fact that it now has an anime adaptation is just the cherry on top :D

As good as it is, after 115 chapters, it’s… exactly as good. I have read dozens of isekai Light Novels and Vending Machine is the all-time champion at consistency. It’s a solid B to B+ for three seasons’ worth of source material, even though I’m pretty sure we’ll only get one.
It's interesting to see the products and history of vending machines. There's that one that gave out air. Everything else about the show is generic and dumb.

Gigguk perfectly captured my feelings about Jobless Reincarnation. One scene he's being absolutely badass and wrecking shit, next scene he's praying to underwear. And just when I think, alright, fine, this is too yucky for me, they pull out some fire animated sequence that makes me remember why I started watching it in the first place.
That's exactly why I hate that fucking series. There's so, _so_ much talent on hand for it - even the characterization for both S1 and 2 are great.
And then it's just offset by the worst, most degenerate fucking bullshit. It's the worst. The worst thing about it is that it never, ever, _ever_ changes that.
Rudeus will always be the worst.
And then they give a 15 year old boy ED and takes me completely out of it.
IRL teenagers and adults do creepier shit. Turns out broken and emotionally immature people don't handle loss near as well as the well adjusted. And in terms of anime age and re-incarnation and stuff people trying to weaponize the ages as an argument need to decide on a side. Is it a physical think or a mental thing? Anime plays both sides. It's basically Reudeus is ok or the 9000 year old loli vampire is ok. Either your mental age determines how you should be judged or your physical appearance. Can't have it both ways. And if its mental age is it absolute age that matter or emotional maturity? My problem is that people never draw consistent lines on this kinda stuff. They pick and choose and flipflop and IMO that tells me people have no clue where the line is but are all just BSing to try and moralize online.

My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even At Level 1 is a pretty good "comfy isekai." I recommend it, but only if you're looking for that, specifically. Also, in the Non-Isekai Fantasy Triumvirate of 2023 (Frieren, Dungeon Meshi, Helck) Helck was the only one where failure seemed reasonably likely. I'm in full blown "incautiously optimistic" mode.

The dreaming boy is a realist is an romance anime I genuinely enjoy; it’s not necessarily playing fully into the “realistic romance” sub genre, but it definitely takes some aspects from it that make the MC relatable in some aspects. I personally can relate to the idea of looking down on yourself and being fed up with the idea of having a crush, I think many of us can, so I’m curious to see how this anime approaches this. I don’t expect it to be ground-shaking or tear-jerking, but just relatable while retaining some of the goofy aspects of a high school romance anime.
Yeah i dropped it fast, nothing happens. Almost an entire episode about the MC bumping into a girl in the corridor, and the FMC is high trash tier.
My top favorites so far has been "Masterful Cat is depressed again today" and "Zom 100: Bucket List of the dead" I need to watch most of the others on this list, but I agree with how you feel about "My Unique skill makes me OP even at level 1" and "The Great Cleric" so far they haven't really wow-ed me.
Synduality Noir is an odd one. It's a pile-up of mecha influences, but the prevailing vibe is Eureka Seven of all things. Might be worth giving a few episodes if that's your jam.

But now I just realized that every season to there will always be that one(maybe a lot) good anime to look forward to. So it doesn't matter even matter of to me if the ending of my favourite anime suck
