  • Folks have reported issues with the transducer not working correctly because of fluid leakage. Even when the seal is replaced with the new and improved "red" seal, and the yellow ont discarded, there is still sometimes a probpel. Looking at the Garmin install instruction for their transducers in boats, one can see that they affix the top cap to the housing with some miniature screws. The top cap has holes already around the outside edge and these are the holes used for the screwu. Use @2 x 1/2" Self tapping SS Sheet metal screws. You will need a #1 or #00 phillips, becasue the screw heads are so small.

Nice1. So annoying that the transducers are so shit considering the cost. Also those arrows point forward in the 22 trophy

Hey Bill. Did you remove the side clips that sit on top of the transducer somehow? Mine have two clips on each side that sit on the top that prevent putting in 2 of the 6 screws. Also... did the screws solve your problem?

I still have them on there. I used only the 4 screws. As to solving the issue; I do not know if it was the screws, BUT, what with the #1 screws, #2 the new upgraded seal ( the red one as opposed to the original yellow one, and #3 the removal and reattachment of the fluid tube that mounts to the nipple at the bottom of the body with a bit tighter zip-tie, and #4 the extension of the fluid tube up to the front where I tied it into a fluid reservoir ( all this stuff being in the series of videos) things have not given me a problem.
