@Lou_Handle yeah, when i typed this i was still early on but as of right now im on the radio tower arc or i guess the Chaplin dotty and fuck bro idk why but usogui is really slept on this shit is amazing and does the gambling genre and psycological genre justice
Baku's face of pure ecstasy from chapter 524 in the quote tweets of a post asking for the best plot twists in manga is what got me into it. That face, no text, just pure nirvana in knowing what he had just pulled off opened my eyes to a genre I had assumed was just Berserk. I've read more than a few seinen now and my god, Homunculus too good god. I love this series with all my heart.
Thank you for covering peak fiction! Advice to new readers: This manga is DENSE. Piecing together what's going on in the games, why the games are being played, and the fights/events that happen on the side sometimes requires *actual* concentration. You might even have to backtrack! But even if you don't understand everything 100%, you can always reread the series later 😊. Usogui has INSANE reread value because of its length and complexity and the fact that its sheer quality doesn't diminish EVEN IF you know everything that is happening and will happen. TLDR Please read Usogui, even if it hurts your brain. Imo everyone has to experience it at least once in their life. Toshio Sako is my goat.

I was addicted to this manga in college during its serialization and it very much have changed how I personally view some aspects of life. The Lie Eater has some of the best fights, best tensions, best twists, buildups and payoffs you could find in the industry. Still a really good read especially if you're able to understand it. Usogui is best example that how a masterpiece can be slept on because of its genre. And yeah it rivals berserk and vagabond. Imo It's objectively better.
Usogui is easily in my top 5 mangas of all time. Such an amazingly complex story, I'm sad that not many people in the English speaking world know of it.
Please give ravages of time a try 🙏. Like usogui it has insane mind games and art. It's very philosophical. It's extremely well written, it has a massive cast and focuses on a lot of different topics while featuring social commentary, warfare, politics, crazy fights and a lot more. It takes place in the three kingdoms period of china.
It always makes me so happy to see this manga get any attention cause it really is one of the greatest ever. I've read a lot of manga but nothing has affected me to the degree usogui has, it really just lives in my mind rent free. On another note, DID U JUST SAY USOGUI SEQUEL?!?!
The build up in this manga is unmatched. I literally stopped reading for a bit before the last ark because of how scared i was, there was so much on the line that i was afraid if usogui had even a chance to do it. But like it said in the manga "when you finally believe he is cornered, you have already fallen into his trap"
Just finished the video store story and I'm hooked, I cannot wait to get to the wild shit and seinen violence because even the small stories are entertaining as hell
More Usogui love! Yes!🎲 I'm towards the end of tower of karma arc loving it tho one problem this manga has is some of the games especially the beads counting one can get waay to complicated, I'm aware this is also a me a thing, but it can be a bit of a moral killer😅 & I swair Usogui gets more complicated then a Fukumoto's gambilng manga lol But great video man!👍
IMO the game they play in tower of karma was the hardest to follow. After that, the games are way easier to understand and follow, while the outsmarting and stakes increase
By the looks of it feels somewhat similar as kaiji anime/manga . It is also about gambling and is very underrated story. If anyone wants something new you can definitely try that.
