I'm honestly beginning to think Japanese game developers don't actually know what other ethnicities look like. Every time you see a Japanese game with a non-Japanese character, they always look Japanese as shit.
The first two Clock Towers (the first one being the SNES one) in fact had clock towers in them. In the first one, it was the final location and played a part in the death of the antagonist. In the Playstation Clocktower involving a second Scissorman, the clock tower was a clock of a different tower atop a library and was optional depending on the circumstances of the story. The third installment Clock Tower: Ghost Head or The Struggle Within was set in Japan and had no clock tower and there was no scissorman that time.
It's fucking 1 AM, and I just erupted from my near slumber, laughing out loud at Matt calling James Small a whappin' cunt, I fucking love this channel,
"Wow! A lot of these sound effects sound a lot like Haunting Ground!" That would be because Haunting Ground was a spin off series of Clock Tower, so they probably used a lot things in both games.
You guys really need to play this game fully, this game was from my childhood and caused me at the time to stop playing it for 3 years because of how freaked I got, and then finally went back and finished it after those 3 years.
***** Please tell me you're either joking or you're talking about the franchise in overall, not this particular game. Because this is THE most shittiest game in the entire franchise, out of all which been released so far (that's four games: Clock Tower, Clock Tower 2, Ghost Head and so-called "3"). In comparison to any of the three previously released games in the series, this one is so blandly uneventful, disappointingly linear, mindbogglingly easy and outright *not scary*, that it's not even funny.
Rico The Protagonist If you're talking about Ghost Head, you couldn't be more wrong than you are here right now. Ghost Head is not perfect, sure, but it's NOWHERE even remotely near to be actually bad also. Quality of your experience of dealing with Ghost Head actually heavily depends on which version of it you were playing. If it's Japanese original, then it's a pretty decent game. If it's heavily cut, utterly censored, badly re-written "localization" called "Struggle Within", then, yes, it's kind of "meh". But even then, neither of them both are as bad as actually bad the PS 2's one is. Clock Tower "3" is THE most shittiest Clock Tower-themed game ever made so far.
Meh, i havent enjoyed a ct game since ct2. I have the first three games but rarely touch ghost head just because of how lackluster it was compared to the first two
Rico The Protagonist Do you mean Clock Tower 2 or "Clock Tower"? %) And believe me - if you didn't actually play Clock Tower "3" so far you REALLY didn't see the most ugliest and shittiest side of it all yet. Compared to this utterly boring and mindbogglingly linear PIECE OF TRASH, Ghost Head is a fucking masterpiece (and it actually is, in it's own sense), lol.
Coming back to rewatch this again in preparation for the 2014 Shitstorm, I decided to look up this game's director because I was curious why "Kinji Fukusaku" sounded familiar to me. Turns out the guy was a well renowned director in his homeland of Japan, where he did films like Tora! Tora! Tora! (or at least the sequences of the film set in Japan), a good number of movies centered on the yakuza, but out of all his filmography the one I'm sure most Westerners will recognize is Battle Royale. Turns out the guy died in early 2003, so this game was actually the last thing he ever worked on.
Thanks for the info. I just recently bought Battle Royale on bluray. It's a pretty good movie. There's quite a lot of Japanese movies I would love to buy that I rented a while back. I like to also rewatch all the Shitstorms in preparation of the current year along with other spooky videos for Halloween.
Clock Tower is one of those weird series where I hear people talk about the first game, I also hear them talk about this third one, but not as much as the first, and I NEVER hear anything about the second game.
***** No it's not. Please, go and educate yourself properly, before you decide to spew out more of such inexperienced achinea next time. "Technically", Clock Tower "3" is the 4. Because it is. Because it's the direct sequel of Ghost Head, and Ghost Head is a loose sequel of the original first two games (Ghost Head is basically a half-sequel/half-midquel), while being direct prequel of the Clock Tower "3", making Clock Tower "3" actually 4. Crapcon fucked up reaaaaal bad on all of this, and if you don't study the matter deep and well enough, you're bound to make mistakes as the one you've did there. Study better.
***** Holy shit...just...STFU. No, like, seriously. STFU. Right now. Right here and now. Don't embarrass yourself any more than you already did, kiddo. You'd better seriously go and read the post I've made previously, regarding the entire state of Clock Tower franchise.
I believe that a few years ago South Africa saw a rise in people breaking into houses, messing them up and shitting on furniture when there was nobody home to torture for safe codes and the like. It made for weird dinner table conversations.
The UK is one of very few countries that can actually be called a "Country of countries" as it's made up of 4 four countries each with a parliament that together form a single nation. It's pretty great because you can travel seemingly short distances and experience completely different cultures. English is a broad term and isn't synonymous with British as you can be British while not being English.
from what i've seen and played its basically a scarped sequel turned into its own game. haunting ground story was so different from the clock tower series that i assume they decided to make it into a new game. which is y both games have similar mechanics and sounds

i came here thinking the same thing. for anyone else who comes back here, i’m pretty sure i was thinking of Rule of Rose. they played all the way through it in Shitstorm 3

Crazy girls' boarding school students? Can confirm. "Wappy"/"wapping" - not real. And I consider myself something of an expert on British slang (including multiculti urban slang, traditional rural white slang, Cockney Rhyming, Scouse, and so on).
***** Also, transsexuality isn't just mental. You look at a transgender person's brain through CAT scans and generally just look at their overall physiology and you discover that they are legitimately supposed to be a different gender, it's just that their genitalia is all wrong. Fixing that issue is generally the best way to alleviate the issue. My boy very clearly has masculine features, and he also puts off very masculine pheromones and feelings, it's just that he has tits and vagina, so technically he's a woman. A snip there and a graft there and presto, everything is right in his world.
Oh god, I played this at my friend's house in like, middle school or early high school. It was fucking awesome, LMAO. Edit: Also, Haunting Ground was supposed to be Clock Tower 4, so that's why a bunch of shit probably seems familiar.
I imagine that Alyssa constantly squatting was the beginning of a bunch of creepy anime bullshit that was gonna happen in Clock Tower 4, and when they tried to put that in, Capcom got all uppity and made them change Clock Tower 4 to Haunting Ground. And lo, sexy cowgirl blonde game was born.
I fucking want the rest of this shit, you hear me Matt and Pat? Go ahead and give me the rest of this fucking episode or else I'm going to start throwing chairs around like a frenzied 15 years old teenager girl on PMS
I'm British and you guys are the masters of impressions. I thought you were both British for a while. Please keep up the good impressions, They make my day XD
Not sure why everyone is raggin on this game. Yeah it was clunky as fuck, but I thought the game was decent. There was more than a few times I crapped my pants playing it.
I would love to see them do a full playthrough of this game, if only for the boss fights. The way Alyssa fights the bosses is hilarious in how crazy and sudden it is.
My Good Self haha I agree and a lot of people are probably going to just thumbs up your comment instead of replying that they agree with you like I just did (YAY first thumbs up!............... yeah, no, I'm making fun of people that comment saying "first comment" on some videos except it's a thumbs up)

Actually Pat said said on a recent podcast that its good but unfinished. And even so in this he was referring to how SE fucked everything up. And even THEN people can like different things.
Really enjoying the animation in the cutscenes actually. Yeah the scenes are over the top but the sheer intensity of that hammer dude and chick in pink dress was hectic, made things seem way more violent and scary. One of the on-disc bonuses is the original mocap footage. The guy who played Sledgehammer was WAY too excited to be scaring the crap out of a teenage girl.
The lack of Shitstorm this year makes my heart sad. =(
;_;
The emptiness is still echoing...can you hear it, Zach?
@@_Francis_York_Morgan There was a shitstorm here. its gone now
That is the most Japanese-looking English girl ever.

Luckee Strikee It doesn't go both ways.

Toozday's Child How to make an English character in a Japanese game:
1. make a Japanese girl
2. change the color of her hair texture to blonde

Matt starts referencing Archie comics here. Still going strong into 2016.
