Thanks to your videos i was able to diagnose the problem on my samsung 58 inch plasma tv which was the Y board, i never fixed a tv in my life but I did the plugging and unplugging the components, bought the whole board for 16 dollars plus shipping and it works great, great fix for 30 bucks, thank you very much!!!
Thanks for the great videos I've been using them to fix a few TVs they're great but I have a question on a Vizio vp50 HDTV 20 amp it has Samsung components I've replaced a bunch of capacitors that were swelled still have the same problem of shutting off losing complete power in power board then it will click and come back on I've used a heat gun on the power board and it stays on until it gets cold again in my barn my question is is how do you check capacitors to see which ones bad when they don't look bad any help would be appreciated thanks
When you started the troubleshooting at the 2:25 mark. What if you still hear the clicking when you first started with X&Y boards unplugged? Would that be the power board?
Frank Simonyi , hi Frank, did you ever find a solution to this because I have the same issue when both the x and y boards are unplugged I still get the clicking. Any help?
Devin Haralson, Frank Simonyi, did you guys ever get an answer to this because this is the same issue with my LG 60PA5500. With X and Y disconnected I still hear the clicking noise. I assume that means its the power supply board.
I have a LG 60pv250 and am having the issue you named in title of your video. however, in your video first thing you go into is to see what wrong if don't hear clicking initially. well I do but I figured I'd follow all the other steps to see and still hear the clicking. the issue is I hear clicking but the power red standby light does not come on does that mean it is the power board?
hey great video however I’m still stumped as to what board to replace I have a LG50 PA6500 all it does is click click click. I followed your diagnose video on disconnecting all boards and replugging one by one.seems that on this tv the X board is connected to the y board by a wire ,and the wire from x to the power. The only time the clicking continues is when they all connected as no continuous clicking when I test individually. Please help. Can it be the main board. Or should I just get a power board. Thank you for any helpful advice Razer
Hi There, I have a LG 50PK590-ZE which is no switching on? The LED standby light is on and the TV clicks to go on then clicks again and nothing happens? I have unplugged the TV and left it off for a hour or so and then plugged it back in again. I then turned the TV on with the remote and it came on and stayed on for around 15mins before cutting off again and going back to the same as first described? Can you give me an idea of what the cause may be? I have watch videos and they seem to be saying it may be faulty capacitors? Look forward to your reply!.. Many thanks Tommy
Love your vids. I have a Samsung pn50b550t2ffxza 50 inch plasma. Symptom are on turn on I hear 2 clicks and it does not turn on. Standby light comes on. Only 2 clicks then nothing. Pu;led the back and the logic board flashes 1 green light 2x then another light blinks green on second click and nothing. If I disconnect logic board and apply power I hear Samsung chime but still no picture. Y and x board disconnect changes nothing. No obvious cap meltdowns and no obvious solder failure or cracks. Thoughts?
I'm having the same problem as james cayzer with the same TV an LG 60pv250 I also am assuming the power board is bad, Am i right? Also you guys don't have the power supply board in stock and probably won't ever again, so do you have a video on how to use the the power supply repair kit as i have fixed some electronics before but this will be my first TV and any help would be appreciated
Hi I hve a question I am having the same problem on my lg 50 in plasam tv and its impossible to find the parts in Ecuador. I will be traveling to the states in april but i have no idea where to purchase these parts Y board and x board. Do you sell the parts or do you know where i can purchase them? Thanks in advance
Samsung Plasma manufactured date April 2013 PN51F5500AFXZA. When powered on the noise I get is a very fast clicking noise almost a buzz. When I disconnect the main board from the poser board there is no clicking noise. On this model the other boards are plugged into and powered by the main board and when I disconnect any of the other boards from the main board the clicking noise is reduced by about half the intensity in sound but not the frequency of the clicking. Would this change have to do with the current draw on the main board from the other boards? And do you think I am on the right path that the issue is the main board. Thanks for your help. Kenny
Am I the only person that had to rewind this damn video like 5 times to keep up with all the X to the Y to the power to the Y without the X and back to the power of Y? Lmao thanks for the video tho really, I did end up learning exactly what I needed to.
Yeah, he went on chasing his tail for a few minutes. The overall point of the video confirmed my troubleshooting method was valid. My X board is the problem, got one on the way.
Shopjimmy.com, I have a panasonic tc-p50s30 with a 7 blink code, I disconnected the cable and ribbon to the y board, and still got the clicking noise but a 8 blink code, (is that from disconnecting the ribbon?) i then connected the cable and ribbon to the y board and disconnected the cable from the x board and did not get a clicking noise. this makes me think it's a bad x board but i'm confused about the 8 blink code from my test of the y board. Your thoughts?
I have a LG 60PK750 TV, about 5 years old. I came home to find the screen extremely dark, there were some red lines and dots throughout. i could see some stuff, like the onscreen volume and the outline of the menu boxes. I couldn't read them but I knew what they are. Ibased on your video, it seems it may be the Z Sus board. What do you think?
Hi I am having problems with my LG 60PB-6900UA When turned on there is NO VIDEO, and all it does is click okay? So I decided to go ahead & invest a little money & ended up purchasing the following: YSUS BOARD, MAIN POWER SUPPLY BOARD, XBOARD, and even the CTRL BOARD okay? After receiving the last 1 of these mentioned above today & plugged it in & I am still getting the clicking noise?? Is it correct in assuming that what needs to be replaced is the Y connector boards? Thank you so much! You are always educational & I appreciate your video’s!!!! April
I realized that I have now written 2 comments on this website (1) of which was written over a month ago (when I replaced the last of 5 parts), and I have yet to receive a response to my question? And while I realize that you are very busy; I can’t help but feel like if you could reply to a couple of these questions it would actually help a large majority of your subscribers (seeing how after reviewing them myself, it appears that if you could just answers a couple of the more complicated question’s that would the rest of us a go to person, so that you don’t get bombarded with the same question repeatedly)! Just a suggestion...Thank you
Thank you for your video. I have an Insignia NS-P501Q-10A. It clicks win plugged in. The X and Y boards are connected together. I unplugged them as you directed. The clicking continued until I disconnected the lower right side board that has the outside component connections. Is this the board that needs to be replaced and if it is how do I order it.
Hi there I have a LG Plasma TV Model 42PT350 and the power supply is connected to the Zsus board and from the Zsus board there is a cable that runs over to the Ysus board. In your video you say that the Ysus board is connected to the main power supply and that there is a cable that runs from the Ysus board over to the Zsus board so I am a little confused on how to troubleshoot the problem. Can you please assist?
Hi ShopJimmy, I have a Samsung 65 inch plasma PN64E7000FFXZA Version TWO2. Symptoms: Sometimes powers on and picture is as expected. Other times I can't get the unit to turn on or the power relay on the main power board cycles on and off. I pulled the power supply board to look for obvious cap issues like swelled or damaged and did not find any. Seems the other boards must be OK as picture is fine when the power supply comes up. It almost seems like it is a power good type issue. What next steps do you recommend? Sailing_chevy
Hi there! Thanks for video help but after unplugging boards I still here clicking on my Magnovox 42mf237s 42" plasma. Is there a capacitor on the supply board I should be looking at to replace now? Thanks in advance!
Hi jimmy i have a Sinoteq model:stl-43e3000g, mo-q180855. the tv was on and the power cutoff but after the tv is flashing a red light when you switch it on and the next day it was showing standby red light but when you press the On button, it shows the green light but nothing on the screen and no sound.

Hi. I have a Samsung Plasma 3D: PN51D550C1FXZA version N411. It has the power on/off issue as described in this video. I followed the video above and found that the xboard seems to be the culprit. As my boards are connected (Y connects to power, then Y connects to X) There is another little board connected to the Xboard and it is marked with a 1 inside a circle. Do I have to replace both boards? They connect two ea screen ribbon cables to them. Thank you.
I have a LG 60PA6550 TV purchased in 2011 which went out 3 months ago with the following symptoms: no picture then no sound, but it did have power to the TV, it would cut on and off displaying the red LED and providing the click sound when plugged into power and cut on via the remote. I have replaced the the Main Logic CTRL Board and Main Board in that order. After replacing the Logic board I experienced no change but after replacing the Main board I did get the static sound from the speakers like a TV station would transmit when off air. I plugged in my cable box via the Main board using the HD RGB cables but I do not get a picture nor can I get the menu or setting to display. I will conduct the test with my HDMI DVD player next. What would you surguest next; the YSUS and XSUS test? I believe this TV provides power to the SUS boards in series of each other. One last question do you sell ribbon cables that run from Main logic board to the SUS boards if I possible have damaged one? Thanks your help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated PJ.
I have a LG LED 42" 42LY560M Monitor that doesn't turn on that also doesn't have any blinking lights. (No lights at all.) I took the back apart and found a clicking noise while the tv was plugged in. The ticking came from the main board after I went through your troubleshoot tutorial in the video. Everything else seems fine. I'm curious as to what do I do next? If there's a simple fix or do I have to just replace the main board?
hi, I have Samsung plasma 50 inch manufactured back in 09 model no: pn50b450b1d. has clicking noise and wouldn't turn on. as your instructions says I have tested both boards for clicking noise but the noise is not coming from them. its coming from the board where USB, HDMI and other video and audio plugs are. any idea? should I change that board?
Hi. I have a Hitachi PT50T01U. I have disconnected Y board from X board (at X board). Turned tv on (with on/off button on the tv), click, turned tv off, click. Dees it mean that X board needs changing, then Y board needs testing? Regards. Kris
Hi, I had disconnected all the boards from my LG Plasma 50PK550-UD main power board and it still clicks on then off. I tried to test for the voltages and there is nothing going to the contacts. Does this indicate that the power supply is bad which can be the capacitors need to be replaced? I did replaced the IC301 Bridge Rectifier, Resistors R927, R928, R929, Resistor 305, Diode D304, and Q101, Q301 having the same results. The fuse is okay since there was resistance on my meter. I haven't removed any of the capacitors because I believed that they should be replaced considering the aged from August 2010. Any idea of which capacitors I should really concentrate on? Would appreciated if you can help with the problem.
Hey shopjimmy.com I realize this is an old video and the TV I'm going to work on is even older... I have a LG 60in plasma. Manufactured 2011! Old I know, but it was cheap and I couldn't pass it up. Has worked fine until now, periodically it goes black, hitting power, it clicks, but if it's off for a long time, (like in and out of storage or off for more than a day) it works... For a short amount of time. I have a multimeter and was wondering if I can do a continuity check to see where I'm losing power? I believe my model number is 60pk200. Also, I looked it up and the main board is fairly cheap... If I simply replace the main board, since I have periodic spells of normal usage, should that resolve whatever is causing the screen to go off? When it goes out, I hear it click... Then nothing... Then another click. It seems like it's failing after it goes through the boot up...
HI I have a model#TC-P50U50. when I plug in it just keeps clicking. what happened was cable guy was doing something with tv on and it starting doing this. think he sent a shock to tv. do you think this is repairable?
Hello, I watched your video as well as some others. Thank you for the information. My Panasonic Plasma tc p50-G20. My tv made a popping noise when it turned off the other night and gave me a 4 blink code suggesting the power supply being an issue. When I tried plugging the set directly to the wall and holding the power button for about 20 seconds (other people stated it fixed their TV's) I get a 10 blink code which suggests the A board. What do you think? My set is from 2010 and has already been serviced once before.
david8624 Try this at your own risk. I recommend disconnecting the SC board in your TV and then applying power to the TV to see if the TV will power up like normal. Reply with the results of this test. Thanks! www.shopjimmy.com
ShopJimmy.com I disconnected the white cord from the SC board (board on left) from the power board and then plugged it and pressed the power button. I then got a 7 blink code.

Hi I have a LG 60PA6500, you can hear the psu "click" on and off with a red LED on the logic board, I already replaced both buffer boards and the only boards I can think of replacing is the X and Y boards or the PSU? I tried unplugging the X and Y boards in every possible way and unplugged them completely and the tv is still clicking! The only items that are plugged in is the logic board and the I/O panel, so why would the psu still be clicking?
I have a Samsung model PN50C450B1DXZA, and With your video’s help have diagnosed the problem as the y-sustain board. Do you have in stock, and is it necessary to change the buffer board at the same time? Thanks!
Hello Shop Jimmy, I have a LG 50PK750 that will turn on but there is no picture or sound. Also once the TV powers up and if I push the buttons on the font panel (Input, Menu, Channel, Volume) nothing changes on the screen. The screen is lighter than black as I can see the panel a little brighter than when its off but nothing shows up. Lastly, if I disconnect the top Buffer board I get static on the bottom? and when I unplug the bottom buffer I get the same on the upper half of the screen.... Please shed some light on this situation... I can tell you the code from the blinking light on the control panel if it helps... PLEASE REPLY ASAP! Thanks!

Hi Jimmy. I have a PN58C550 Plasma Samsung TV. Recently my TV turns on and off repeatedly about 4 times in a row. I took the back panel off and unplugged everything from the power supply and plugged my TV. I get the red standby light but not power cycle on and off. Then I unplugged, then waited 5 minutes and plugged the HDMI/component board for all the inputs into the power supply board, and then plugged in the TV. Still got no power cycle on and off. Then unplugged, waited 5 minutes and then plugged in my main control logic board. Then I hear a clicking noise from my power supply board as it turns on and but turns off. This power cycle repeats. Therefore I thought my problem was the main control logic board so I bought a new one. I swapped it out, but the power cycle continues even with his new main control logic board. Do you think the power supply could be the issue? The clicking seems to be coming from the middle voltage regulator. I have inspected all my capacitors on the board and I can’t see any bulging or burn marks around them. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Have a pioneer plasma t.v. that all of a sudden won't turn one, changed remote batteries un plugged and reel plugged in, changed power outlet, manual power button was damaged a year, but was working fine with remote, ????
Hi nice vedio my plasma tv model 42PA4500 has stand by light screen came on for 1 second and then blank screen it has all the voltage vs , va 5v ,12v etc please advise.
I have a 50PX80U that turns off after just a few minutes, sooner if warmer, longer if colder. It turns itself off and displays the 2 blink code which I looked up and found to mean 15V SOS with a check point of A board. Do you know of a test procedure so I can determine if this is a bad A board, a bad 15V power supply, or just a temperature sensor somewhere? None of the caps are swollen on any of the boards.
my panasonic tc-p50s30 has the 14 blink error code- cannot find any shorts to ground on the power teminals per your 14 blink tutorial, so I suspect the main A board. Unfortunately, I cannot locate a A board replacement....is there a way to fix the A board or troubleshoot bad components on the A board?
lg 60pv250, the red power light turns on but no screen, when plugged in it makes the clicking noise. i have unplugged both ysus and xsus and still makes the clicking noise, even with one or the other. so what if you hear the clicking noise when both y and z sus plugs are unplugged? is it the power supply board? Thomas
I have a Panasonic plasma TC-P55GT30 last night we had a storm , I don't think it was a lightning strike but maybe a power surge. Red light was on but no picture , unplugged and plugged back in and no red light at all . When it is plugged in you can hear the click sound it makes while turning on but still no picture ? Any help would be great
LG plasma TV model 42PT351R-TC. Heard a loud noise when TV was on then there was no picture and a clicking sound when it's on. What do you think the problem is?
Hi I have a insignia 50" plasma Tv model # NS-P501Q-10A, it had a click nosie, I change the Y sus board and the buffer board and I also change the X sus board, I also when even further and change the power supply and still No picture or sound. I was wondering if you can help me or guide me to fix my Tv?
Hi, I have 2012 Panasonic plasma TC-P55ST50-2, that has won't turn on, just clicking sound, no LED light. Tried unplugging it over night, holding power button down for 30 sec. Even though in you video you say that unplugging board will not work for Panasonic, I tried it, and clicking sound would only be present when the board that in the video in lower right corner, below x board is connected. That board accepts htmi and other inputs. Any idea what could be wrong? We has a storm come through, and tv was connected to surge protector.
Hi Jimmy I have a Panasonic TX-P50C3B on startup it does a double click and will not power up and then a minute later will double click again, the standby stays a solid red (no blinking ) , all boards look good no blown caps or burnt marks , thanks
I working on a Samsung 63c7000yf, following the t/s guide for tracing the clicking sound, I had unplugged both X and Y SUS boards and the clicking persists. I am assuming the power supply is faulty at this point. Part # BN44-00334A. The Va voltage is bouncing around but the Vs voltage is stable but not sure what it should be. If the power supply board is available, I would like to thank you for pointing me in the right direction rather than just replacing all the boards.
Hi I have an LG 60PV250-UB sound but no picture. trouble shooting as you showed. with only y-sus connected that board buzzes. with only z-sus connected that board buzzes. with both connected..clicks on buzzes for a second then quiet. any suggestions?

HI Jimmy, I need your help/opinion 1.Currently my panasonic TV Model TH-42AS640S does not work properly. ( Australia Model) When you turn it on, the green light blinks fast approx 15 times, the TV comes on for about 4 seconds and turns off , and then the light turns red and blinks red once every 4 seconds. 2. I suspected the Power supply board. It has 2 test points 5V and 16v. when I measure them , there is NO 16v present. When I leave the Multi meter attached to the 16v rail and turn the TV on again the DMM reads 16v for approx 4 second and then drops to 0V, as if the power supply is turning off due to excessive load. 3. so, I disconnected all the connectors from the power supply( no load condition) , turned the TV on with DMM attached to 16v rail , result 0V ( did not go to 16v and then drop off to 0V as previous test) 4. I purchased a second hand PS board with exactly the same results as above. My question is do you think it is the Power supply board or some other problem. Your opinion will be greatly appreciated, many thanks Peter Sullivan
Hay what does it mean when you turn your tv on but you hear a clicking noise but know picture on the tv you turn it on but know light in the screen I looked at the power board and know faulty capacitors hmm what do you do in that state do you chuck the power board out in the trash or do you yous a bolt meter to test the board
I have a LG 50PA4500 plasma tv and powers up with black screen, but no picture. The logic board has a greenlight flashing code at power up(. . _ .) off for 3 sec then ( _._.) and repeat (_._.). Component board is solid red light. Have you seen this before and need any further info for suggestions to troubleshoot?

Hi, first , sorry for my bad english, i'm from Québec ( french ). i have a 50' plasma Samsung ( PN50B450B1DXZA ) It is possible that the Y and X board are bad ? cuz when unpluging the X-board the clicking noise is there and so on with de Y-board. if i unplug the both of the X and Y board, no clicking noice and we can here de startup sound.
I have a dell w4200hd plasma tv 42" I have no picture but my tv is powering on... I did what you said and there was still a clicking noise I listened closely and it's coming from the power board I turn on the tv and I hear one clicking noise then two seconds later I here another one coming from the power board the previous owner said he was able to get the plasma screen to turn on after a half an hour of unplugging and plugging the tv back in do I need to buy a power board ? Or ?

I have a panasonic tc-p42x5 flat screen. There was a thuderstorm about few months ago that cause the power to short circuit on the TV. Because the TV doesn't turn on immediately and have to wait few days before it can turn on again. This has happened several times but it always turn on with no problem. But now its different. When the tv turns on there is a ticking sound and the picture kinda freezes up or stalls causing the sound to glitch. What could be the problem, where to get the parts, how to fix it
Hi! I have a Sony 46bx420 that seems to be doing something pretty similar to what other people are experiencing. Last night while watching tv, it just shut off. There are no lights or sounds when I try to power it on from the tv itself or by using the remote. When I unplugged it, it clicked. When I plugged it back in, it clicked... nothing else, no lights, picture or anything. I haven't taken the back off yet so I don't know what boards this tv actually has. Any help you would be willing to offer would be greatly appreciated!
Hello, I have an LG 50pk950 serial # 005rmqk1y956 tv. Once I hit the power button I get 2 clicks then the screen comes on briefly then back off sometimes if I do it for a long period of time it will stay on. Do you have any idea what may be the problem?
Okay. I have a LCD Emerson 32". Model NO. LC320EM3F A 120V~ 60Hz 95W. This TV is kinda old it was manufacturered: Oct. 2012. And has not worked for a while now. When I plug it in it immediately starts to make a very high pitched ringing noise and it does not turn on nor stop ringing. After I unplug the TV the ringing starts winding down and ends with one click noise. I do not know why it's doing this or how, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Sincerely Eli.
I took off the back and all the capacitors and fuses are all good and nothing is burned or blowed. I think the noise is coming from the yellow outer square with the barrel in the middle "sorry I have no idea what that is called". That is the best I can give you for what all I can understand.
Hi I have a question about my tv. I have a 42" microtek model # MP-42EN-S but when I open it up it says the parts are Samsung. PBC Rev. 0.12 user: Samsung SDI DATE: 050526. I am having the clicking and nothing on screen problem. Please help.

Hi...I have a Samsung PN50B530s2f/PN50B530s2fxza 50in. Plasma. It powers on and you hear the Samsung startup sound but there is no display. Just a black screen. There is also loud buzzing that starts after the startup sound and this buzzing continues until I pull the power cord out. There is also like a clicking sound and it looks like there were flickering sparks coming from the left side of the back of the set. Is this an issue that can be repaired? Thanks.
Hi I have LG 60 in. 60PB5600 that when is turned on shuts back off after what I assume is an initial system check, and stays off. What component(S) should I look to replace?
Hello JimmyI have a LG 50PK950-UA Plasma TV, about 5 years old. A few days ago my display won't power on. The unit receives power signal via remote or touch panel and you hear a clicking relay sound but displays fails to turn on. Pressing the volume touch panel sensor causes the LED to flash but no visual volume control indicator is displayed on screen. I removed the cover and disconnected the X & Y boards, plug power to the unit and attempted to power up, I got the same clicking noise but no picture (I presume this is expected since we don't have the X&Y boards). Does this mean my Power board is bad since I got the same clicking relay. FYI, I'm not seeing any blown CAPS or resistors on my power board. Many Thanks Martin.
I have a LG 50PC5D-UC and the TV will turn on, then click off. I repeat this several times and after about 40 or 50 times, the TV will come on, but the green light will flicker, then stay on - but no picture. I let the TV stay on for a while, then turn it on again and the TV will come on with picture. I like the video that you have about replacing boards and not getting into the capacitor stuff and soldering. Will your video shown in this presentation work as a trouble shooting method for my LG TV? If so, that would be great and your parts web page makes it easy to acquire these parts (boards). Thank you in advance for any assistance.
Hey I have an LG 60PK250 it is having no picture but has sound. The problem is intermittent as in sometimes it turns on with picture AND sound. But I have to turn it off and on MANY times to ever get picture on. I replaced my YSUS with a part from shop jimmy.com however still no picture has sound INTERMITTENTLY again. Any ideas what i should try replacing next?
First off, great video. Well shot, and very clearly explained. I have an LG 50PK250, with the clicking and shutting off issue. I have tried isolating each board and powering on as described in your video, but never get the clicking issue with the boards isolated. On several occasions, when plugging everything back in, the tv has run for short periods of time, and sometimes it just won’t turn on at all. Since the behavior is random, I’m at a loss. This is a great tv I would love to salvage, so any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
@@blakeds87 Unfortunately, no. I ordered replacement power supply components, and the tv played for about an hour before doing the very same thing again. Had to scrap it.
my LG plasma TV model number 50 PA 5500 started clicking on then clicking off when I tried to Power It Up. In following your diagnosis instructions the clicking is happening when I plug it in with the X & Y boards disconnected from the power supply. does this mean I need to replace the power supply or is there additional diagnosis that could help troubleshoot and resolve the issue?
I have an lg plasma 60pn5700 that clicks when plugged in and won't turn on. It doesn't have an X board. It has a Z board and Y board. Power goes through the Z board to the Y. I unplug the Y and audio came on in the form of white/pink noise. Plug the Y board back in and it clicks again. I think the Y board is bad but you didn't mention any sound coming on anywhere in your video. Please help. Thanks
The problem that I have with a LG 60PZ250 is that sometimes, after I power off the TV from the remote control, the tv is turning off and ON immediately without any picture on the screen. In that state it does not respond on any inputs so i need to unplug the power cord. Do you have an idea what can it be?
I have a Panasonic Tc - 50pu54 plasma. My tv would not turn on and then would provide me 7 blinks. I had my ss board fixed and tested but when I installed it the TV would click once and then again 15 seconds later after it was plugged in. After pressing the power button the red light would stay on but no picture on the tv. I purchased and installed a new A board but it has had no change in the outcome. Any suggestions??? Thanks
Thank you for the video. I tried all your suggestions, but it still clicks both times. It's the power supply board that clicks. Any other suggestions you might have? Thank you very much
I have a Lg 60pv250ub plasma TV and I get a click and a hiss in the back then off and it repeats 3 times. I have been trouble shooting this for weeks but I'm stumped. thanks in advanced
Hi I have an LG plasma model # 60pv250. I watched this video and disconnected both the y and x board and heard a click when I turned my tv on. Is my power board bad, this started due to watching tv and out of the blue we lost picture but still have sound. Could you please advise. Thank You and have a blessed day.
+shopjimmy.com Hi there i have a Panasonic TX-P50VT50E which randomly within 5 minutes or 2 hours "restarts", image go black then turns back on, sometimes there is flickering in the image just before it happens. Usually the tv works fine after the restart, occationaly the tv doesn't respond to the tv remote. When it turns back on which takes about 3-5 seconds just like a normal start there is a blinking just before the image comes back. Don't know if this is the blink code but i have seen 2, 3 and 4 blinks if i am not mistaken. Any ideas of what could be the problem?
I have a samsung PN50A550S1F and took the back cover off and checked the caps on the power supply board and found none that appeared blown and doing a basic resistance check to ground, they all would rise or fall in resistance depending on lead polarity. What I notice is removing the wiring harness that goes from the power supply board to the main board (HDMI + other accessory) would stop the clicking (but obviously the tv no longer works). No other ribbon or connector stops the clicking. I am curious if I am undervolt and therefore the relay wont latch or if there is something else going on? Help
hi can you help me please ive got a samsung PS50C680G5KXXU KNOW AND AGAIN I GET A LIKE A PATCH OF PIXELS GOING ON TV ON LEFT SIDE OF SCREEN ABOUT 5 INCHES DOWN ANS THEY SEEM TO GO AS IF THERE IN A LINE OF ABOUT 4 INCHS ACROSS SCREEN THEN AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS THEY GO AND COME BACK AND GO AGAIN I WAS WONDERING IF THIS WAS THE BUFFER BOARD ON HIS WAY OUT CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE MANY THANKS. hello we have a 60v400 lg TV and on ever other Channel we have different colors like green and blue and I'm not sure what wrong. maybe I could send you a video of it ?
Thanks to your videos i was able to diagnose the problem on my samsung 58 inch plasma tv which was the Y board, i never fixed a tv in my life but I did the plugging and unplugging the components, bought the whole board for 16 dollars plus shipping and it works great, great fix for 30 bucks, thank you very much!!!
That is a cheap board. Is that ebay?
Frank Simonyi I have the same question!
Did you find and answer to this as I’m having the same issue
@@r.gregjones6965 Did you figure out if this means the pow sup must be replaced or is it a main board issue?
Thank you for any helpful advice

I have a lg 50pa5500 it comes on shows lg TV then turns off
Hi There, I have a LG 50PK590-ZE which is no switching on?
Kenny
Jimmy can you tell me what site I can get schematics? Trying to fix my Toshiba 49l621u no backlight problem.
Am I the only person that had to rewind this damn video like 5 times to keep up with all the X to the Y to the power to the Y without the X and back to the power of Y? Lmao thanks for the video tho really, I did end up learning exactly what I needed to.
Same here but I finally figured it out, buy a new tv...
Yeah, he went on chasing his tail for a few minutes. The overall point of the video confirmed my troubleshooting method was valid. My X board is the problem, got one on the way.
I have a LG 42pc3dh-ud that made a loud pop sound and now screen stays dark but sound still works. Thoughts if it’s the ysus board?

Hi I have a question I have a plasma s50hw-ybo3 that clicks comes on picture shows for a second then tv clicks and goes back off any ideals
Hi ShopJimmy,
I have a Samsung 65 inch plasma PN64E7000FFXZA Version TWO2.

Okay.., cool. I'll give that a try first. Do you have both the Main & T- boards in stock.

yes i have a 42 toshiba plasma tv .the tv would not turn on. i changed the yboard and the xboard and now it turns on.now it has red and green snow on the tv even on the menu part. did more research and i am thinking its the main logic board that is causing this problem now. what do you think
Hello there Jimmy
I have a TV that I'm looking for a AV main board where can I get one from please help me
Thank you
I have a 55 inch lg model number pdp60r4000 I think the X board is not good. where can i get it a replacement
I then got a 7 blink code.
david8624 Repeat the same process on the SS board after plugging back in the SC board. Reply with those results. Thanks! www.shopjimmy.com

Thanks!
Hello Shop Jimmy,
I have a LG 50PK750 that will turn on but there is no picture or sound.

I have a 50PX80U that turns off after just a few minutes, sooner if
warmer, longer if colder. It turns itself off and displays the 2 blink
code which I looked up and found to mean 15V SOS with a check point of A
board. Do you know of a test procedure so I can determine if this is a
bad A board, a bad 15V power supply, or just a temperature sensor
somewhere?

I have a Panasonic plasma TC-P55GT30 last night we had a storm , I don't think it was a lightning strike but maybe a power surge. Red light was on but no picture , unplugged and plugged back in and no red light at all . When it is plugged in you can hear the click sound it makes while turning on but still no picture ? Any help would be great

Hello I have a lg 42pn4500 I'm getting sound but no picture at all. Just wanted to know what part should I get first to try to fix it ?
I have a 60" LG plasma. 60Pn6500 The USB port of the side is pushed away from the edge so the usb plug in cannot be plugged in. Is that part of a whole board and is there a video on how to change it?
thank ahead of time, Gabe.
HI Jimmy, I need your help/opinion
1.Currently my panasonic TV Model TH-42AS640S does not work properly. ( Australia Model)
When you turn it on, the green light blinks fast approx 15 times, the TV comes on for about 4 seconds and turns off , and then the light turns red and blinks red once every 4 seconds.
3. so, I disconnected all the connectors from the power supply( no load condition) , turned the TV on with DMM attached to 16v rail , result 0V ( did not go to 16v and then drop off to 0V as previous test)
4. I purchased a second hand PS board with exactly the same results as above.
My question is do you think it is the Power supply board or some other problem.
Your opinion will be greatly appreciated, many thanks
Peter Sullivan

I have a plasma tv, exact same model as yours that’s doing the exact same thing. Did you find out what the problem was?
@@blakeds87 Unfortunately, no. I ordered replacement power supply components, and the tv played for about an hour before doing the very same thing again. Had to scrap it.
@@rogerguitard okay. Thanks for letting me know. I might scrap mine too then. Lol
@@blakeds87 lol hihihi
my LG plasma TV model number 50 PA 5500 started clicking on then clicking off when I tried to Power It Up. In following your diagnosis instructions the clicking is happening when I plug it in with the X & Y boards disconnected from the power supply. does this mean I need to replace the power supply or is there additional diagnosis that could help troubleshoot and resolve the issue?
Geoff Lopatka did you ever figure this out? My LG is doing the same.
Unfortunately I have not figured it out yet. Still searching for answers...
I see in another post you are going to try the power circuit board. Please let me know how you make out with that.
Hi I did all the thing and the fault comes from Y board , u thing the problem could be a broken resistor ?
Hi I have an LG plasma model # 60pv250. I watched this video and disconnected both the y and x board and heard a click when I turned my tv on. Is my power board bad, this started due to watching tv and out of the blue we lost picture but still have sound. Could you please advise. Thank You and have a blessed day.
My 50 inch LG clicks with the y and the x unhooked. Does this mean it's the power supply. Thank you.
I have lg 60pb6650 w a 2 inch wide vertical bar. pic is fine just this bar slightly right of middle of screen. Pls advise
So if the x and y board are both disconnected is it the power supply board If the clicking is still present?
I have a samsung PN50A550S1F and took the back cover off and checked the caps on the power supply board and found none that appeared blown and doing a basic resistance check to ground, they all would rise or fall in resistance depending on lead polarity. What I notice is removing the wiring harness that goes from the power supply board to the main board (HDMI + other accessory) would stop the clicking (but obviously the tv no longer works). No other ribbon or connector stops the clicking. I am curious if I am undervolt and therefore the relay wont latch or if there is something else going on? Help
