The machine has automatic leveling so I can level in either direction. While the outriggers do compensate for some slope their main purpose is to stabilize the machine due to how narrow it is. The Genie GS-3232 is a unique machine that goes up to a 32ft platform height at just 32 inches wide.
If they are stuck you would have the release the pressure on the holding valves on the individual outrigger cylinders. More than likely if they won't retract it is an issue withe pressure transducers, limit switches in your pothole protection or a software update. Do you know why my GS 3232 works with the stabilizers but does not want to go up and if I pick up the stabilizers it goes up but only up to 6.9 meters.

Safe to say only hard surfaces?
That's correct. All aerial lifts are designed to be used only on firm level surfaces. This machine will allow use on moderate slopes.

Does the outriggers need to be out to go the full 32 feet ?
Yes. The machine will drive up to 26feet depending on the model year.
