      I lived in the same neighbourhood and you could met him in the bars around there sometimes. My favorite bar there is owned by their original drummer and falk/christian was there too pretty often when they werent touring!

    • @sandraschwarz8464
      @sandraschwarz8464 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@gerdokurt @TankTheTech Falk is not a keyboardist but an organist (he is very picky with this fact). A lot of songs for their albums were actually recorded in a church on a real organ! He really brings life to the show because he didn't want to be another "boring keyboardist that just stands around doing nothing half of the time". This is one of the reasons why they are so awesome live.

  • @Triskaan
    @Triskaan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +120

    Yeah, it was time for some Powerwolf... but to be honest, that's not the song I'd have gone with.
    Personal recommendation for the next one : Armata Strigoi (live at Bloodstock 2019).
    I mean... Demons is a fun song, but there many more that I think are a better representation of Powerwolf : We Drink Your Blood, Incense and Iron, Werewolves of Armenia, Sanctified by Dynamite, Resurrection by Erection, Moscow After Dark, All We Need Is Blood, Dead Boys Dont Cry, Amen and Attack, Army of the Night...
    Yeah, that's quite a lot, but still, I'd recommend Armata Strigoi next ! :)

    • @Assdafflabaff
      @Assdafflabaff 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I totally agree, in my opinion, the "issue" is Demon's are a girl best friend is more "commercial" like and reach a largest audience than their other tracks, although it doesn't represent Powerwolf the best of way. I feel just the same way with "Awakening" for UTA, and maybe GLS for Nightwish. All are really good song, maybe not the best, but the ones who reached the most people, and so the most recommended to TH-camr.
      But heh, still makes people know of these bands (escpecially in the US) and they're then free to check out their other stuff, so that's all good :)

    Powerwolf is such an entertaining liveband. They really know how to interact with the crowd and get them along. They weren't that known outside of Germany a few years ago, but already back then they were a headlining band. It's one of those band you can see a hundred times live and still go to their next show.
    As for other songs, there are so many great ones, but Resurrection by Erection, Armata Strigoi, We Drink Your Blood, All We Need is Blood and Incence & Iron are all great places to start.

    There are a lot of great Powerwolf songs out there. What makes them different from other bands is their lyrics. It can be described as Werewolf Metal. Some lyrics are not for younger viewers like Resurrection by erection.

    One of my most memorable heavy metal moments was seeing these guys at Bloodstock in 2010. Lupus Dei wasn't a song that particularly jumped out at me on the album, but on that day, in the high, almost cathedral-like tent the stage they performed on was in? It grabbed me and didn't let go. In that space, with the organ and the latin lyrics, it really was a heavy metal mass.

    I always have to watch each of your vids 3 times. Once to watch the music video, once to read the tank facts, & once to watch your face. (That sounds weird lol but hear me out?)
    My favorite people in the world are people who *breathe* & *live* music. Watching people like me so into the music is such a beautiful sight. It’s like watching the interplay between performing musicians who really mesh... they’re not just having fun playing, they’re not just interacting with the crowd, they’re not just entertaining people, they’re (most fun for me to watch) enjoying, cheering, appreciating and celebrating each other’s skill mid-performance.
    You have that appreciation for musicians & Im diggin it.

    There are several reasons why I enjoy your reaction videos. Anyway, the most important one is that you bang your f*cking head whenever the music calls for it.
    This is such a rare thing to find nowadays. I've been visiting Wacken every single year since 2011, but, even though everyone is having a good time, I always feel like the only one enjoying good old headbanging. So yeah... that's why I really enjoy watching you appreciating music in the same way I do.

    Ah, that was nice - I was in Wacken last year and the Powerwolf show was, in fact, extremely awesome...I really miss concerts and festivals, so I hope for 2021 to get better. Matter of fact, I have just ordered my tickets for Wacken 2021!

    Always good to see that you choose for live @ Wacken. Many bands have a DVD from their show at Wacken. Exodus, Slayer, Volbeat, Saxon, Nightwish, Parkway Drive, and many more.
    Are you planning to go back to Gojira? Backbone live has my all time favorite headbang moment (EVER). It is around 3 minutes in the song.

    Glad you liked it. I've been following powerwolf since 2009. They have always been more on the heavy metal side. A true powermetal song would be sacrament of sin. Some classics would be "we drink your blood", "resurrection by erection" and "blessed and possesed". The theme they play by is Werewolf priests. Thats why they have a lot of roman catholic influences like church organ, latin, etc.

    Thanks for doing this group man they are one of my favorites. They exclusively make bangers. It's pretty much Sabaton with dark gothic / werewolf theme.

    If you like theatrical productions you should definitely check out any live performance of Avatar (who actually played at the same time at W:O:A 2019 as Powerwolf on the third main stage ;) ). Other bands I can also recommend who have more of a theatrical production are Carach Angren, Trollfest and Eisbrecher.

    Here are some songs from powerwolf that I like to listen to, "Resurrection by erection", "armata strigoi", " venom of venus", "the sacrament of sin", "Stossgebet", "Incense and Iron", "Killers with the cross", "Die, Die, Crusify", "Night of the werewolfs", "Sanctified with Dynamite" and "Army of the night". Definitly worth checking all of them out even if you don't make a reaction video on them. Love your reactions and keep up the good work!

    Also, if you want a super dope Wacken video, check out the 3 Song video from Sabaton from Wacken 2019. They use both of those split stages. Both. It’s so dope.

    I love how weird and atypical this band is. The first song I heard from them was “Amen and Attack.” It was very energetic and had the elements of power metal that I really like, but I mean, “amen and attack”?! That immediately caught my attention. A lot of the band’s songs have a very “church” vibe to them, often using a lot of church organ samples in the keyboard part, and often including Latin in the lyrics, but the lyrics are anything but church appropriate, haha. And, looking at their album art, you’ll see this hilarious yet awesome combination of werewolf or anthropomorphized wolves in classic church imagery. So one thinks of werewolf priests and the like. It’s so weird but so fun as well. I back all of the suggestions people have made here for other Powerwolf songs to check out. Their music videos are also quite entertaining.
