The Trail is a LOT more fun the second time around...so now Ill get to see what a 3rd thruhike feels like this coming late March when I head out to do my third...yeah, baby!!!
I'll never forget Hampton, TN because it was right before that fuck off Pond Mountain and me and my buddy stupidly did not replenish enough water before heading up. We finally got to the top and ate the apples we had gotten in town to hydrate and make it to the next source. One of those teaching moments for an amateur.
@@KyleHatesHiking The Notch is basically the reason that I was able to keep going. I flipped to Maine from Harper's Ferry, and the Virginia blues followed me all the way to NH. I spent a long time at the Notch letting my feet and my mind get back to where they needed to be. It was raining really bad one day, and Serena the Hostel mom didn't want us all to sit around, looking out the windows at the rain. She gathered us all up in a couple vans and took us to a brew pub in the next town over so that we wouldn't be bored. That pretty much sums up why the time spent at their hostel is probably my favorite part of my thru hike.
Due to fire danger and çardio, I don't smoke combustibles on hikes anymore. Now I use rechargeable vape pens and take a hit every few miles. I get the munchies for the beautiful scenery 🌲🐿️😜 maybe there's placebo involved but sativa sure seems to help with my get up and go. As they say different strokes for different folks. Pea's out ✌️
As someone who is itching to do a thru hike, I am diggin your videos/podcast! thank you for sharing your info and experiences 👍🏼

Use permethrin on your clothes and gear, it deters that. Big foot has a great video covering that issue.

That’s what you look like without a hat?
Hitchhiking is virtually non existent in England so that will be a difficult thing to get used to.
I would think urban rucksacking wouldn't be an implausibility
Did you see any giant salamanders?
